  • in this video I am solo wild camping in my TentBox Classic. My intention was to summit camp on Great Gable but the weather had other ideas and I thought it safer to spend the night in my new roof top tent, the TentBox Classic.
    I spent the majority of the day scouting out a hammock camp location that dragon outdoors claims to be the best in the UK! I had to give up in the end as the light was fading however I will get back there soon and find it!
    I also wanted to talk about time (again) and how we never know when it's going to be our last time.
    I hope you enjoy the video and as always if you do, please give the video a thumbs up and subscribe!!
    Thanks and have a good one.
    Ryan

    I've had my tentbox classic for about 1 month now, and have found myself spending more time in it than at home 😂

      Haha that’s class mate! I sold mine just over a year ago because we weren’t using it enough but I wish I’d kept it. I miss it! And they’ve gone up in price loads now too!

    Hey there! Just came across your channel. Just subbed to support a fellow UA-cam vlogger and hiker out there. I have debated for years to get a rooftop tent or not. I tent camp all the time on my hikes on the east coast of the US. Your setup looks really cool. Looking forward to following along on your channel and watching more of your videos. ~RVA Hiker Girl~

      Hey! Thank you for them comment and the sub, I really appreciate it! I will check out your channel and follow your adventures! The roof tent was a compromise as I wanted to buy a van to convert but the prices are so ridiculous at the minute (in the UK especially) but I’m so glad I got the Tentbox. It’s such a great bit of kit and it’s really comfortable and just adds flexibility to my set up and gives me the opportunity to spend a couple of extra days out in the hills! Thanks again, take care, Ryan

Tell ya self as well. An at thy end of the day you've done that... Wait for a new day.. Great video mate keep true an keep pushing forward. You'll get there lad 👍😁. Positive attitude. Tc Andy

    Great vid... Definitely encouraging me to get a tentbox. I was worried that they'd be good for campsites but not so much for wild camping but maybe I'm wrong haha. Could you share roughly where you parked/camped for the night here?

    Great vid, really useful 👍. I've come to this film as I'm seriously thinking about getting a Tentbox. They look just the job for what I am after. My only real concern is the taking it on and off the car. I would use it regularly so it would involve much of this. At 65kg, how onerous do you find this aspect? ATB, Chris

    • @ryanhuntermedia
      @ryanhuntermedia  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Chris, thanks for the comment and glad you found the video useful. They are a great bit of kit and I’m seriously glad I took the plunge to get one. In terms of taking it on and off the car, I actually keep mine on the car full time. It’s been on since September and I haven’t noticed any massive loss in MPG on my car (maybe 5-10 miles a tank). They are heavy and you do really need 2 people to take it on and off. Saying that, with 2 people, it is easy enough to do.

      @@ryanhuntermedia Thanks for getting back to me. I would need to take it off really but I'm sure the missus would help. 🙂

      @@ChrisJB no probs mate. There is a Facebook group - Tentbox Community - where you can ask loads of questions and there’s always someone on there who is in a similar scenario. There’s some right contraptions to help you get them on. And off the car.

    What’s it like heavy rain mate? Can you stow it away wet and put it back up again in a different location, and it still be dry inside?

    • @ryanhuntermedia
      @ryanhuntermedia  2 роки тому

      Hiya mate, it’s absolutely fine in heavy rain, the way it collapses down means that you get no (or very little) water ingress when you’re closing it. Like any tent through, if you’ve had it in heavy rain, just make sure you open it up when the weather clears to let it air out. Atb, Ryan

      Haha you won’t get shouted at mate! I’ve been out wildcamping in it about 5-6 times now. We’re actually camping out in it up in the lakes this Saturday actually. If you drop me a dm on Instagram, I’ll give you a couple of locations where I’ve camped and had no bother at all! Go for it mate, you won’t regret it!
