Wow, stumbled upon this review while searching for camping gear, and I must say, this was one of the most thorough and well-explained breakdowns I've seen! Your attention to detail really helps us viewers understand what we're getting into. The Tentbox Classic sounds like an absolute game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts like myself. I'm seriously tempted to hit that buy button now! Also, gotta say, your presentation style is on point. Love the energy and clarity in your videos. As a recent new subscriber, I'm definitely looking forward to more content from you. And hey, is it just me or do you kinda resemble Simon Cowell when you put on the shades 🙂Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you SO much for taking the time to write all that!! I am so glad you not only found it useful but entertaining too! 🤗🤗 Great to have you onboard on the channel and I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the other videos too!! Let me know if you are going to get a Tentbox and I’ll get you a £50 discount code. It’s not much but every little helps!!🤗🤗🤗🏴🏴🏴🏴
Nice! I've fancied a Tentbox in the past but they're so expensive - like the one you have that just lifts up via the gas struts rather than hanging off the car 👌👍
Hey James! As long as you have an extra pair of hands, it’s really easy to put it on. Just be careful making sure the bolts go on correctly and don’t cross thread them as I did that on 2 and getting them back off is a nightmare! You’ll be fine though. As I said in my video, make sure you open your boot before you settle on the right positioning🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤗🏴
@@davidmuirphotography yes !! I have it now , my worry is that the hummer is wider than the box so the ladder may have to be at an extreme angle to hook on rather than the straight up approach when the box is wider than the car
Right , another question.. roof weight limits. Almost every video I have seen, the car being used only has a small limit on the roof. The box alone is already 67kg.. add an adult and grossly over. Am I overthinking this ??
Seriously thinking of getting one of these exact tents and your video was great…..just wondering one thing, does the tent on the roof make much of a difference to your mpg?🤔
@@debskeith Hey!!!🤗🏴 I drive a VW Tiguan (as you will see from the video!) and if I drive sensibly I can get 45 miles to the gallon. If I drive a bit harder it goes down to about 40. It is definitely less than when the Tentbox is not on it, but not horrendously so! If you are going to buy one, email me at dmphotoscot@gmail.com and I’ll give you the code to get £50 off. I know it’s not much, but every little helps and I get a small kickback too!!🤗🏴
I don't own this model, but I do travel with roof mounted accessories quite often. Yes, you will almost always see a noticeable drop in MPG anytime you have something mounted to the top of the car.
Thank you for this! I am an enthusiastic amateur landscape photographer and have been recommended a Tentbox as a way to get to a location for sunset and sunrise without forking out £gazillions for hotels - so your review is perfect (thank you!) and I am very tempted, especially as Scotland has freer rules about where we can stop (I don't live in Scotland but have been a regular visitor in recent years). The thing that is holding me back right now is the need to pee before during and after a night's sleep. I am sure I am not alone on that one, so...how do you manage?
I use mine a lot in the Red Squirrel campsite in Glencoe and it’s only £15 a night. It has toilet facilities and a wee shop too which is handy. When I go more remote, I make sure I take every ‘break’ opportunity on the way there and try not to do more than stay hydrated! If you are after a ‘tipple’ it’s best to stay at a campsite because it removes any risk of the police knocking your door!🤗🏴🏴
Scotland does not have freer rules as to where you can stop, this is a myth. Scotland's access rights excludes anything involving a vehicle, including roof top tents.
@@junehall2177 absolutely correct June! But there are places they can be used with great consideration for others without breaking laws, codes or bylaws.😊🏴
@@davidmuirphotography I think id just feel safer with a metal skin round me, and the other thing is I might just want to pull up at the side of the road admiring a sea view.
Nice video , nice review , a tad out of my ideal price range, but the leave no trace at the end , why just why do people think it’s acceptable to dump 💩, last year on the edge of Loch Lomond nr tarbet not only 2 carrier bags ( wife picked up ) beer and bbq but 💩💩💩 nappies WHY JUST WHY & don’t get me started on the doggy bags hanging from trees what is that all about. Any nice review 👏👏👏👏👏 rant over
Hey!!🤗 Glad you liked the video my friend!!!🥳 Unfortunately the behaviour of some is only getting worse and some of things you see in the most beautiful places is actually heartbreaking!! Will just try to continue to inform and educate as best I can to do my part!!! 🤗🏴🏴
I absolutely love mine
The are absolutely the bees knees aren’t they?🤗🤗🏴🏴

Can’t wait for my tent box 2.0 to arrive on Tuesday… nervous about getting up on the car however. Fingers crossed

Really good video and presenting style, can I ask you your height and whether you can sit up straight in the tentbox?
Hey Anthony! I’m 6 ft 1in and I can sit up fine in the Tentbox! They are SURPRISINGLY roomy! 🤗🏴

@@davidmuirphotography Where please ?
I fancy one, but worried about wild camping , I think I’d feel vulnerable, and being on a site apart from the cost wouldn’t suit me.
