I personally haven't felt sad listening to happy music. It doesn't seem to be as common as feeling better from sad music. Just a guess... overly happy music can feel fake and off-putting. To me, it can seem inauthentic when it's over the top and although it doesn't make me sad, it definitely makes me uncomfortable. Another thought... maybe it's hard to relate to certain concepts of happiness if you haven't experienced them. For example, hearing a love song and never having been in love can make you feel like you're missing out, or frustrated that you can't relate.
