    You can simulate the friction zone control by selecting "rain mode" to de-sensitize the throttle response and dragging a tiny bit of rear brake. That will get rid of the drivetrain slop between idle and when it starts moving slowly and tighten those turns. . I have taught the Rebels, Africa Twins and Gold Wings with the DCT's this way.

    I wish to God I lived in your town. Lol i’d be at your class so fast it’ll make your head spin lol, I just bought a Honda shadow 750. I wanted a Harley, but I was just out of my price range and Hondas have that Harley look, It’s not the smallest, but it’s not the biggest thank God. I’ve done laid it down 3️⃣ times so I’m studying every single one of your videos. I’m so grateful someone like you has a channel, dedicated to help teach and save some lives. I’m in Mississippi. I’m completely having to learn and do everything on my own. There is no classes or anything like that around me I can take. I’m so grateful for your channel, I had no idea about the friction zone. I was doing everything wrong before I get back on my bike. I need to get over the fear and get my confidence up. I am afraid of the lean. I’m not gonna lie. I had no idea about turning your head. I had no idea about none of this, but that explains why I went down so much 0:01 I’m gonna practice practice practice but first I’m gonna study every single video on your channel lol Thank you for doing this. Thank you very very much. If I am going to make my dream a reality and become a rider, your videos is going to get me there. 🙏🏻

    Jerry, if you get the chance, do the Honda Offroad Experience on a DCT Africa Twin. By the end of the day I guarantee you'll have the DCT completely down, mastered all its foibles, and have no problem with your low speed control. Part of it is developing throttle sensitivity, part is knowing how to set the settings for the context - where and what kind of riding you're doing. They'll have you doing slow stuff on slippery mud, shale & gravel, and you'll see what the instructors are able to do, that spend all day every day with these bikes.

    The Honda Rebel (500, 1100) is one of the finest bikes Honda makes, in the price range. I owned the Rebel 500 and loved it.
    I must say that I would not ever want to own a DCT motorcycle; well, maybe if I were 80, and wanted a scooter. I'm sorry to have to insist that a motorcycle without a clutch, and wet clutch basket, is NOT a motorcycle. I would never purchase one, ever.
    When I sold my Rebel I actually made $2000 dollars on it; well it was pandemic time and metric dealers could not get the bikes... high demand drove the prices up. The Rebel makes a really good learning bike for new riders who are planning on working up to a Harley-Davidson some day. The bobber styling is very cool, and the handling is very nimble and forgiving. Its a butt buster though... I swapped out the seat on mine, and I put a Puge windscreen on her.
    Thanks Motorman; love the color. Mine was pearl white.

    Honda makes the mistake of calling it a "Rebel". As a kid in the '80s, "Honda Rebel" meant a 250cc beach bike...the kind you'd rent at Daytona during spring break. The toy aspect of the name has been burned into my brain since then. 'Eh, it's only 40 years back.

  • @cloud9847
    @cloud9847 Місяць тому +1

    I, personally, do not like the idea of making motorcycles 'easier' like having an automatic clutch. A motorcycle requires you to have your brain engaged and be 'in the moment' or bad things happen quickly. Having a clutch is a bar for entry. If you're not willing to take on something like a clutch and learn how to use it then riding a motorcycle might not be a good idea for that person...in my opinion. I also don't like quick shifters even though they are amazing. They make bad riders think they are good riders.
    I understand these aren't popular opinions but a motorcycle, again, to me, is something that is not for the majority of people. Being fit enough and coordinated enough keeps the death toll down. You make these things so easy that any ol complete moron can go operate them and boom - death tolls rise. Accident numbers go up and restrictions are enacted.

    • @uwinsome
      @uwinsome 19 днів тому

      Please take a good look at the motorcycle death rate before you make such an uninformed statement ! There's lots of morons with clutch motorcycles that "believe " they are "better" riders for no proven reason 🙄

    • @Malevolentguppy
      @Malevolentguppy 18 днів тому

      One need only watch some moto stars videos to see how great your barrier to entry is.
      People lacking wisdom can learn to use a clutch just as easy as those that exercise it more.
