You are awesome! I've watched all your episodes and am really enjoying your trip. I've watched Dixie and Darwin and they have great videos, but I really enjoy your videos the most. Thank you for doing the day by day episodes. It really helps viewers "experience" the trail. This is by far the best chronicle of the PCT!
This is such a special area to me. I dream of Lake Harriet, on the way up to the pass. I think that was my favorite campsite ever. Dorothy is where my father wants his ashes spread. Just love the Eastern Sierra!!
I LASH-ed 1700 miles of the PCT in 2014 and Sonora Pass was one of my favorite days! Your video brought that all back, thank you :). I know your videos are about a month behind so hope your foot is all healed up by now!
Amazing. Thank you for your videos. You always express your awe and wonder of your surroundings so well. And I love how you talk to your animal friends on the trail!
1K congratulations! I remember when I hit 100 miles on the IAT (Ice Age Trail) in Wisconsin and it felt so good hitting triple digits, can't imagine what hitting quadruple digits must feel like! Great job! Nickel 😘
Yahoo!! A thousand miles! Wow! You should be proud of yourself. Those thousand miles were through 🌵 deserts, over mountains, and in all kinds of weather. 🌦So it is even more amazing all that you have accomplished. So sorry you hurt your foot. Hopefully, when you got your feet wet, the water also acted to cool the injured area down a bit. Ok....now I am off to watch the rest of the vid. 🤗
Sonora Pass is one of our favorite places in the Sierra. My wife and I have been to Sonora Pass many times. It's not highway 50 but actually California State Route 108. There is a nice picnic area at the summit which is a nice place to visit if you want to do some hiking on the PCT either north or south or just spend the day there. Absolutely stunning place.
Did you ever think you would be a thousand miler? Great accomplishment, your quest is achievable, be safe, be alert, have fun and you will succeed. Another great video, keep em, coming.
If it’s any consolation, mosquitoes were the bane of existence of Lewis & Clark, too. Their journals make regular reference to them being troublesome, numerous and troublesome. Etc. So, you’re among good company.😎 You were at Sonora Pass at a great time. That sweet light when the sun is low on the horizon, which you captured well. As others have mentioned, get your foot evaluated when you get off the trail. And most of all, keep having fun. Good on you for 1,000 miles.
Congrats on the 1,000 mile accomplishment. The views continue to amaze and we'll all hope the timing of the evening rest and some rest and treatment in Tahoe/Reno will get you back to full speed ASAP! Awesome stuff day after day with the documentation and perseverance.
Missed a video from you the past two days! I am always meaning to send you comments thanking you for your extended shots of animals, talking to them, etc. My husband is like man, she's just like you except you'd stuff the marmot in your pack - I mean I talk to them in your video lol love nature. Thanks for living our dream and sharing!! We day hike in TX with our family every day we're off from our high paying engineering jobs. Trade shoes any day...guess we just need to pull the trigger huh? Stay safe! Courtney
Jen, I'm still amazed that you can cover so many miles each day, because the views alone are enough to slow you down. I don't know how you think your not good at through hiking, to me you are doing a great job. Atb Glenn.
This section is AMAZING! I did it this last July. I got to Kennedy Meadows around 2PM and 10 minutes later there was a cloud burst / downpour for 2 hrs while we were in the restaurant.
Congratulations on 1000 miles it’s been an epic journey so far. Sorry to hear about your foot I sure hope it gets better so you can continue you adventure,
Wow Starburst!! Still going thru such beautiful country...... and seeing after all the work, all the pain that you still have that lump in your throat when you describe the beauty....... Love ya! BUT!!!!! OMG!!!!! When hiker stink on a shirt is too much for a thru-hiker, you KNOW that's bad!!!! : ) Praying your foot issue is resolved in a good way...........
Congratulations on 1,000 miles!! And I hope your foot gets better, soon!! (Maybe consider going to a town and an urgent care facility to get it checked?)
I was supposed to do the section between Sonora Pass to South Lake Tahoe and because of fires the Sonora pass to Ebbits pass has been closed since August 1st. So bummed! You made that area just in time!!!
Wow!,,spectacular scenery..would be extra cool if you could make a mural of the panning shots...please take care of the foot problem first chance you can...if for healing reason you have to get off trail ,,so be it...it will be there when you heal and can make the time...would be big problem to continue and get a few hundred miles along and have more serious pain and problems...Spirits High....Stay Safe and God Bless....
I was backpacking right near where those big switchbacks are about 2 weeks before you, along Kennedy Creek and Kennedy Lake. Amazing area and I have a video of the trip on my page if you're inclined to see what some of those drainages look like up close. It's titled Kennedy Meadows. Really enjoying all these trail updates.
bambi loves you. congrats on 1000 miles. (just as an FYI the average person takes 2,000 steps per mile. so 1,000 miles is about 2,000,000 steps. no wonder you are tired.) keep it up.
Take care of you foot! Maybe a triple zero is needed! Just to jet you know me "The Animal" from class of 2014 will be doing Trail Magic (PCT's Last Stand) one mile or so North of Hearts Pass in Washington September 29-30th!
Gosh I sure hope your foot doesn't hinder you further..... I'm always worried when my past injuries start barking at me as well. Other note I did chuckle over you wishing it would cloud up one minute....then the next minute you're scurrying down the trail trying to avoid the dark clouds behind you..... Whats that old saying ? ... Be careful what ya wish for ? LOL 1000 miles 😀 LOOK AT YOU !!! Congrats ! ✌ 👣 👑 👑 Rub some dirt on it and walk it off..You ain't done with this trail yet
You posted some pictures of the bruising on you back from your backpack, is this due to heavier than normal pack weight, Or is the pack hitting your back differently due to possible weight loss along the trail
So you did the Sierras in 32 days. In 2020 you HAVE to do it in 35 days or less. I'm hoping for 28 days. That's why I binge-watched them all. You show more "daily life" of a hiker than anyone else. You may cry more than most but you also laugh more than anyone else. Did you carry microspikes? I dont recall you videoing yourself putting them on.
Well, I just show more of my crying than others ;) because trust me, people cry out there 🤣🤣🤣 and I brought micro spikes but actually never wore them. There were a couple times I probably should have put them on but didn’t.
Hey there. I've been watching you and Google (Saunter Beyond) since day one. When you get to Etna, let me know if you need a ride or a place to crash. I gave Google and some of his crew a ride back to the top and the trail. It'll be safe, I'm a local Deputy Sheriff. Keep up the good work!!!
What is with the irony that you can hike through the Sierras, climb Mt. Whitney , traverse ancient lava fields, and many, many mountain passes, but it is a little rock the size of a tennis ball that hurts your foot? What's up with that? 😜
Be careful with that foot. I quit at mile 700 this year because of a variety of reasons but 2 months later off trail I still can't walk on my feet too far without pain in both my feet. I was doing 20+ miles a day from the start while being 80 pounds overweight so I may have been unique but regardless the reason why when you start to feel pain it is for a reason. I too thought the daily foot pain was just what everyone experiences but 2 months off trail I would think they should be good again.
I have enjoyed your videos.hpoe your foot ok .I was worryed I would get a bone infection from s broken root in my tooth .I didn't want to get it pulled just because the scripture said tooth for tooth foot for a foot.hope your foot is healed fast .like my tooth.Amen
Hey Jennifer we are glad you're doing better today until I heard about the creepy guy in the middle of the night putting his light on your tent that freak me out! Did you ever see that person on the trail in the morning? Alright be careful thinking about you and hoping your foot feels better in the morning! Hugo and Shelley
you are running out of time, you should flip up to Harts Pass and hit the border and head south asap or the weather will beat you, plus you will miss the best part of the whole PCT
The fact that you're doing it is an indicator that you're good at it. Once you finish you will be a subject matter expert. No doubt.

1000 miles! Way to go!! But God Almighty, Sonora Pass is amazing. I had to watch this twice. Great job!! Watch out Dixie!! Thanks again for sharing, 💫
Bestist day ever 1000 miles. Some of most amazing views so far definitely bucket list material 😎👌💜🦌Take care of those feeties.
You are on top of the world! So gorgeous at sunset time. Thank you for taking the time to film. And I think the deer are your totem animal. ;-)
I LASH-ed 1700 miles of the PCT in 2014 and Sonora Pass was one of my favorite days! Your video brought that all back, thank you :). I know your videos are about a month behind so hope your foot is all healed up by now!
Starburst my wife and I have been following you since you started at the border, your amazing keep up the strength be safe, hope your foot gets better
Thank you for allowing us to thru-hike with you.
Amazing. Thank you for your videos. You always express your awe and wonder of your surroundings so well. And I love how you talk to your animal friends on the trail!
You're a deer magnet...🦌you have a good energy! 😇 Congrats on 1k, love watching your journey Starburst! 🤩
Stumble annie Good to see she’s traded the lizard magnet crown for deer. 😆
Stumble annie oh, but she has a bigger audience: mountain lions😜
It's not about the destination.... it's about the journey. Congratulations on 1000 miles!
1K congratulations! I remember when I hit 100 miles on the IAT (Ice Age Trail) in Wisconsin and it felt so good hitting triple digits, can't imagine what hitting quadruple digits must feel like! Great job! Nickel 😘
Greetings from Belgium... with respect, no less. You are inspiring.
Cheers on the thousand! =) the views are gorgeous indeed. I hope your footis as close to 100% as possible, now
I Know this is late but ,I want to say congrats. You are doing this all by yourself with the help of family and friends. GOD Bless You.

Congratulations for the fine videos and narratives and the 1000 PCT miles...Impressive.
Congrats on the 1,000 mile accomplishment. The views continue to amaze and we'll all hope the timing of the evening rest and some rest and treatment in Tahoe/Reno will get you back to full speed ASAP! Awesome stuff day after day with the documentation and perseverance.

You certainly made the best of the day, due lacking sleep and injuring your foot. But beautiful deer and views. Rest at home soon!!!

Hi, Get Some anti-fugal cream for you feet. Keep up the pace!! My hats off to you. Great Job.....
You have a new name, "walks with deer".

nice hike; beauty and solitude. Jesus is Lord and he loves you.
Good job ... but this video comes several weeks late, most of us know you are well past the 1/2 point already! Keep up the pace!
Take off your shoes every time you stop!! Dry your socks on your back pack and switch out every time you stop.
