I’m African and my spirit never agreed with halloween from the very first time I was exposed to it. Over 20 years in the west and this remains one of those things I have never budged on.
I have a friend who is from Zambia and always told me how dark Halloween was. She has an understanding on the matter that I didn’t see for too long. I also had a friend from Mexico and his city was so filled with magic and witchcraft. He hated Halloween.
I don't participate in Halloween either, however, I don't judge other brothers and sisters in Christ who choose to participate. This was a good interview.
I agree. I was radically saved in Oct 2016, and from that moment on, God brought me into the truths, and I stopped participating in Halloween. Actually, the past few years I put together bags with lots of chocolate candy and gospel tracts. I look at it as an opportunity to share the gospel with all the children God brings to my door on that deceitful and wicked "holiday".
That's actually speaking on our heart posture behind what we do. We can do innocent things in the flesh, allowing people to accuse us- or we can do innocent things by God's spirit allowing Him to reveal the motive behind our actions.
There is no appearance of evil in a 6 year old girl dressing up like Moana asking for candy. Your false accusations attempting to impose your ideas on others however are clearly unbiblical.
I am from South Africa and we don’t celebrate Halloween. As a bystander, Christian and a kindergarten teacher I can’t believe that any parent willingly expose their children to this dark event. Nothing about Halloween is Christian, you can’t combine darkness with light!
Absolutely Ester. A fellow South African here. I'm in the advertising industry and this year it's being celebrated full force where I work. We had to give reasons upon rsvp'ing, and I believe I wasn't the only one not going. For me it doesn't matter where it comes from. The fact that I know of people who turned away from the kingdom of darkness and who strongly warn that the month of Oct is extremely evil due to many blood sacrifices and that 31 Oct is the day for opening up to the realm of darkness, it is so satanic. I come from a family that doesn't engage in halloween celebrations and I choose to keep it that way for our children too. I will not mix Light with darkness.
A previous podcast she had a pastor here that said children should not attend public school. If children should not attend public school they most certainly should not attend Halloween events.
@@thorpeaaron1110 😂 True. Coming from someone who's VERY big on being a light to the world, having proper hermeneutics, being unwavering is a culture against truth and theological understanding, and went to seminary/missions school, I agree.
As a Christian, I know I have been convicted about celebrating halloween. There is truth to be said about that day being a "special day" for all sorts of evil to occur, ask any ex-satinist. We do need to be mindful of our actions, and definitely make extra time for God that day, along with shining God's light in a biblical way.
There's evil happening every day and not everything is either godly or satanic, that's a really bad way to view things. If you celebrate halloween and dress up as a superhero for example, and have a get together or go with your kid to trick or treat, I really don't see how that's evil. It's more about the heart just like Paul said in his letters. If you personally feel convicted, then honor that and don't, but doesn't mean it's bad for everyone.
@@ThatSoulsGirl That day in specific has been chosen. Look at the decorations everyone puts up… dead, blood, Demons, people from movies that are murders. They don’t decorate with “Princesses, police men, firefighters. They decorate devils and such.. think about that
I know after back sliding for several years, when I came back to the Lord, I couldn't watch stranger things. It actually gave me an internal feeling to flee from it. Also, if you ask John Ramirez (ex satanist) he might have a differing opinion on why we shouldn't celebrate Halloween. Even so, many years ago when I was first saved, I got that internal feeling at anything that was wicked, including skulls on things, of which I used to love when I was in the world. I find it interesting how we go on theology, rather than the instinct God gives us to discern what's good and what's not...
What if someone else's "instinct" differs from yours -which it inevitably will ? The "instinct" you speak of is no more authoritative than Theology. The ultimate standard must be *_correct_** Theology* -based upon a systematic and spiritually-guided interpretation of *_SCRIPTURE_* . If your instinct does not comport with the *rightly-divided Word of Truth,* it has no more validity than the hairs on the back of someone's neck. ·
I've listened to John Ramirez who was a high satanic priest who is now a spirit filled Christian and I think you need to consider what halloween is in the light of that perspective, he contends that its the launch of their high holy days. I had seen his videos a few years ago and it truly changed how I viewed it.
John Ramirez is great. But he has severe PTSD when it comes to witchcraft and doesn't quite have a sound mind in his approach to Halloween and the demonic. He still has quite a bit of fear.
@@Freshnewz10 There are Christians that don't buy into Ramirez's claims, thankfully. I've listened to his interviews and they sound farfetched and ridiculous.
I went into this with an open mind, as someone whose church friends all celebrate it, but I’m still not convinced. I feel like they are doing so much digging and trying really hard to make Halloween okay. It still seems so dark and worldly, and not glorifying to God.
Yeah....you have to dig up stuff to compete with other people digging stuff up, I would hope everyone noticed it other wise you might be joe biden lol. Like what did you guys expect this video to be ? The title gives it away. Like don’t get me wrong i think a lot about Halloween is absolutely wicked between sexual immorality at parties and making the devil a costume. But the past is important only because if you don’t understand it you will be doomed to repeat it. If you let these people convince normies its a pagan holiday you will loose more culture influence. Fix Halloween don’t abandon it. Same for Christmas. Don’t give up innocent fun to satan he corrupts what is good. Halloween is supposed to be about spooky costumes and candy for kids to overcome fear with a candy as a positive incentive. Not about satanism and paganism. Jackolanterns are to ward off bad spirits? It’s literally about warding off wickedness. You’re letting the wicked gaslight you and take over more of our culture. You don’t have to celebrate any holiday but don’t cut your fellow Christians down for trying to defend cultural control while you retreat from society. Just my opinion though 🤷♂️.
I used to listen to this podcast until I started hearing some really off beat stuff. They're only humans, but they can go very in depth on certain sides of things that don't necessarily represent well the topics they're trying to discuss. It screams to me that they're doing it just to do it, not as any kind of actual ministry. I haven't heard many so I'm not saying this opinion is absolute truth and I could be missing things, but I quit watching. Even these "good" podcasts can be time wasters too.
Yes, I agree with applying this to "halloween" because it's clearly evil; but the frustration I have is with professing Christians who pretend that it's not evil. I used to very much like halloween before I was genuinely saved and I was pretty heavily into the occult; I liked halloween (at the time) mostly because it is evil/dark/pagan.

All the feasts of the Lord are what we aught to observe and rejoice in, not these man made traditions. The Bible clearly speaks on this, that we aught to be set apart and not have anything to do with darkness. The feasts are literally the Lord's appointed times. So much wrong about this conversation was wrong. I can't even listen to this guy. There is no way to make a man made holiday and make it "Christian" by not dressing like something that represents darkness. You just can't mix it together and think your intention behind it makes it "Christian". This is not leading people to be set apart. Sorry, it just missed the mark.
Why not? I hand out candy to sweet little kids and make their day! My husband and I dress in cute costumes that make them smile! Can't wait to do it again this year and I WILL be praying that every child that steps on to my property will be supernaturally protected and have an encounter with Jesus in their life.

Ummmm it doesn't matter the roots. It is now very much a pagan holiday. I'm so over christians trying to marry into the culture. As an outsider that moved to america I was so surprised christians were into this weird celebration. It's a holiday that celebrates fear. There's other harmless things like Candy etc but the very essence is fear, horror etc. Seriously. My kids were told we don't celebrate fear and then day went on. No Wonder so many couldn't stand up to the covid bullying etc. We can't even stand up for basic things. 🙄 Celebrate what you want but don't make it something it's not.
The witches tried to take it back? Halloween means All saints EVE Christians don't have to treat IT ugly like SAMHEIN...(saween) However, it may have went that way in the MID- LATE 1960s, when rockers started using OCCULTIC SYMBOLS And kids started getting poisoned From candy Watch for fentanyl .. Some churches use Tarantula as a symbol and do TFUNK OR TREAT
These are the questions I ask myself when deciding on engaging in something: Am I exposing myself to sin? “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 Am I conforming to the world or God’s perfect will for my life? “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 Is it going to bring spiritual improvement? ““I have the right to do anything,” you say-but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”-but not everything is constructive.” 1 Corinthians 10:23 Does it further the gospel? Are you going to cause a brother or sister to stumble? Are my actions going to encourage sin in my neighbour? “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;” I Corinthians 9:19 Will it cause me to be enslaved? “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” I Corinthians 6:12 NKJ Does it violate my conscience? “But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.” Romans 14:23 Does it glorify God? “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31
I was convicted about Halloween the moment I became a Christian. And believe me when I tell you, I loved painting faces, going to Halloween parties and getting dressed. Considering it originally was a holiday for the saints, I grieve that it has become what it is today. I can do without the modern Halloween holiday. I rather celebrate reformation day and remember the saints there. 😊 Viva la reforma!
Praise the Lord for men like Luther! Pray He causes us to stand in our day of trial and temptation as he was given to stand in the day of his tribulation!
It wasn't originally a holiday for saints. These 2 men did not go back far enough in their research. It started with the Celtics. But glad to hear that you are not participating.
Halloween no longer bears resemblance to anything Christian while it does reflect all things evil. I think that's the crux of the matter. Origins matter very little. My family only celebrates fall with a visit to the pumpkin patch and my children have more fun than ever now that we've separated ourselves from the disturbing aspects.
So are you going to ditch the internet since majority of people who use the internet use it for bad stuff? How bout Christmas now that it’s becoming more worldly
Absolutely agree! The origins of the names of the days of the week are pagan! So many modern things we do or names for things. But Halloween at its core is evil, celebrating fear, death, and darkness. That’s good enough reason to stay away.
@@AJTR611 You obviously don’t know Halloween history if you repeat the same theories many fear mongering churches preach. Halloween spooky theme accelerated in the 60’s. Halloween origins was about remembering Saints who were martyr by the Roman Empire
@@Freshnewz10 I think you’re missing the point - no matter what way you cut it, it’s dark and evil. Origins are good to know, but it doesn’t erase what this holiday actually is even today - just go outside and look around and anyone can see that.
As a former witch, now redeemed thanks to God through Christ, it makes me so sad to see more and more evil decorations and costumes at this time. It is true that covens pray against Christianity on Halloween night, conduct animal and human sacrifices, and work to summon evil to effect people. I keep my cat inside the few nights before that night, and if my husband and I feel like interacting with trick-or-treaters, we hand out Bible tracts and tell them to be safe. Samhain, a witch's holiday, is a major sabbath. There are 8, and samhain is one of the major 4. It's steeped in evil, and it's horrible to see "Christian" churches and families cavorting in costume and denying the power of evil. God bless! We should be focused on the ways of God, His working through us to be salt and light in this deeply dark world. Yes, Jesus is Lord over all, but it's obvious He wouldn't smile at kids dressed as devils, even if they're just "having fun". Be safe out there friends! And God bless!
You are spot on! It is really sad to see how Christ followers are looking for ways to still be “Christian” and participate in the world. How easily we forget who the god of this word is. Demons, Satan worship, rituals and sacrificing of children, adults and animals are alive and well in this country. These are high holy days for the kingdom satan because during this time the veil between the spirit realm and the physical is at its thinest. All that candy, which causes illness and disease, has witchcraft all over it. There is a reason scripture tells us to not be of this world.
Amen. I too come from that type of faith, generationally deep. I try to share the truths, even to my church, but am ignored. Let us all pray this Halloween for all Churches participating.
Thank you for speaking up! I want to see how "Christians" are going to still try and defend celebrating such an evil holiday CURRENTLY! Not what is was in the past, this is the current meaning for the occult. What say you, God-fearing believers??
If we want a fall festival, why wouldn’t we celebrate the Sukkot / feast of booths? Just think about why we would celebrate a pagan holiday instead of remembering one of Gods perfectly good holidays that takes place in the same month instead? One more thought - Jesus tells us to be like little children….. Two of my little ones, now grown were so excited to answer the door for trick or treaters and then immediately mortified by the characters at the door; even the ‘nice’ ones! My puppy has the same reaction walking past all the lawn decor this time of year. We should pay attention to those reactions of our young innocents - they can be important indicators of what is / is not good.
On your second thought … we have a new family on our block, very nice family. But their Halloween yard decorations are horrifying! Especially the demon babies!! They are bloody looking and gross. 😳😳
But what is the deal with the skeleton of a baby in the cage? That’s around the corner from my house. I’m not judging anyone. Just thought I’d ask because I don’t understand. What’s it for?
Yikes. I don’t care where it originated, Jesus would not have any part in Halloween and we shouldn’t either. God convicted me about it and we haven’t looked back.

Regardless of how Halloween has been historically celebrated, each Christian needs to examine scripture and pray about whether or not their taking part in celebrating the holiday that Halloween has become today is glorifying to God in any way. All other opinions of man (and those are many!) come second to the conviction of scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit in each Christian's life. Personally, I understand how Christians can use Halloween as a day to intentionally be a light to their neighbors. For my family, my husband and I are raising 5 young children so taking part at this stage of our life would be extremely confusing to them given what we are teaching them biblically about spiritual warfare, satan, witches, and the "host of wickedness" (Ephesians 6), yet that doesn't mean that we go hide from our neighbors or are rude when they stop by. Each Christian family just needs to be seeking the Lord's guidence on how He wants them to approach this day based on their own life circumstances and not worry about the opinions of others.
Quite honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that they are saying this. These men (and many associated with Apologia) admit to filling their minds with movies and shows that do not glorify God yet believe they are “redeeming” these things. Been there, done that, and I truly feel it stems from wanting to fit into the world. So many issues I could pick apart with this podcast, but suffice it to say I found this very disturbing. These are the people we are looking to to direct us to the Bible and how we are to discern things in our culture in this day. Not celebrating Halloween doesn’t have to be because we are fearful, it can be because Christians want to stay clear of the satanic - an abomination to God. No one can convince me that Halloween isn’t satanic in our day and you can’t redeem sin by joining in. Disappointing.
Well said. I have concerns with Cultish also. I just published a response video to this episode because I was also very disturbed by this legitimizing the full embracing of Halloween. This was definitely a very disappointing episode. My response to it is on my channel if interested.
I've never heard of these guys, but right off the bat, I cannot take them seriously. They look sloppy, and reading the words on their hat, t shirt, laptop...who is listening to these people? I don't need any more "Christian scholars" to define things for me. I despise when people (especially preachers) say things like "no Christian scholars believe xyz" ... it in itself is a scare tactic. Like they have done all the research for you. You don't need to think for yourself. Get outta here with this junk.
@@aliciacorbett6143yes!!👏🏼 Also, if you can't even pronounce the name of the holiday origin... you definitely aren't an expert, what a joke. So tired of people being looked at as "experts" to interpret what we as true followers of Jesus should clearly be able to discern if we are in the Word and believe and practice what is says.
Halloween's pagan origin of Samhein is undeniable. There was an attempt to Christianize it by Catholicism but nobody can deny its origin. I deal with this by citing academic resources (rather than regurgitate unverified narratives like the Cultish podcasters) in a video teaching on the topic. However, as bad as the origin is, we need to consider how it is viewed by culture today. The fact that it it is seen as dark and occultic by culture should be a clear indicator of how the holiday should be viewed by Christians. One of the most bizarre parts of this podcast was from 35:00 - 35:37. A case is made that Christians should celebrate Halloween in the way it was intended to be celebrated. Paraphrasing someone he heard on another podcast, he says, "Christians, if we're not celebrating Halloween in the way that it can and should historically be celebrated as Christians, we're actually contributing to Samhein." And then he went on to explain a few things about Samhein and its connections to Halloween. Which is extremely illogical and contradictory to the entire argument that was made to say that Halloween is not connected to Samhein. If Halloween does not originate from Samhein, than how can not celebrating it be contributing to Samhein? And if Halloween does originate from Samhein, then you must have faulty research. You might want to think through that logic...
Thank you for stating this! That's where they lost all credibility for me. I had to rewind it and re-listen to it like "is that what these two are really saying?!" Wholeheartedly disagree with these guys there. The Bible clearly states to avoid wicked customs as it is an abomination to the Lord. We would be no different than the Children of Israel mixing what God told them to do with that of the surrounding heathen people and soon following after false gods.
Guys you dropped the ball on this one. History bears witness that just like most Catholic festivals Saints day or whatever was placed in this already pagan selebration day. And Samhain was already a pagan holy day. Which probably dates back 300 years bc or more. The first written mention of the day officially dates back to the 2nd century. A Gaulish calendar found in Coligny France which has the first day of the year as Samonios or you guessed it Samhain in October 31st. There was always a harvest festival done i this day by the druids and is very consistent with all the megalithic burrial mounds in the area where they did religious selebrations. Im not a historian or anything but I think you are wrong on this one. God bless
You're on the right trolley. So was Grandpa Simpson with his turnip talk. It's been a few years since I looked into things or listened to Stephen Dollins, but to my recollection: the druids would go door to door demanding households give someone up to be a human sacrifice. If people refused, someone in that home would die that night regardless. Usually of fright, but the people believed it was a curse or something. If the sacrifice they were coerced into giving was pleasing, the druids would place a carved turnip at the door. I believe it was also the druids who would dress up (when the veil between the world's was thinnest) in an effort to fool the spirits of their deceased enemies. (I may have some details confused, so anyone knowledgable please correct where I am wrong.) Some of these traditions carried on when they left their homeland, turnips eventually replaced by pumpkins. Once known as All Hallow's Eve, it also preceeds Devil's Night. Why would that be? 🤔 People should ask themselves that. They should also ask themselves if anything about the "holiday" glorifies The One True God and His creation. Whether or not I have my facts confused; the bottom line is nothing about it honors Our Creator. Even the joy of gathering sweet treats is celebrating gluttony. It's also symbolic of gathering sacrifices. Blood sacrifice still goes on, it's just more hidden in this day and age.
@@gypsywoman9140 we should just ask ourselves what holyday has the Catholic church ever created that doesnt have some sort of pagan and Christian mingling in it. Our family has decreased our participation in Halloween and we are now at the point where we discuss with our children how easy it is to allow darkness in our hearts and teaching them to discern between good and evil. We now do not participate at all but we talk to our kids about people who do and how they are still good people and that their participation doesn’t make them evil…I share with them that we don’t allow Satan any opportunity to open the door to our hearts and participating in Halloween in today’s society is very much so connected to evil.
Praise God! What a great lesson you are teaching them. I was very concerned with where these men are leading undiscerning Christians. They want them to fully embrace Halloween and even quoted another podcaster as saying that we are contributing to Samhein by not celebrating. That's absurd! And it's a contradiction of what they said earlier in the podcast. I pointed this out in a response video that I made because of my concerns with this podcast. It's on my channel, if you're interested and have similar concerns (or at least want to see what I believe are sinful issues regarding this presentation.)
It's pretty simple for me. Regardless of the origins, the current iteration in the culture is very dark, and light has no fellowship with darkness (2 Corinthians 6). I'm reminded of 2 Kings 18 where Hezekiah destroys the brazen serpent of Moses because people had turned it into an object of worship. Even if it started out as something good, it can become an idol.
The biggest problem with this podcast is it is not relatable to real life in current times. You should never say Halloween is All Saints day. They are at this point completely different holidays. Deciding if Christians will celebrate Halloween or not should be an easy answer.
@millyriley178 The Holy Catholic is not pagan. Calling it pagan is a modernist protestant lie, that is repeated because most people know nothing about other branches of Christianity they were not raised in.

I don’t see where the Bible says to celebrate Halloween or any day like it, therefore, I don’t feel the need. The Sabbath day is the only one commanded to remember, so that’s the one I’ll try to keep. ❤️
As a spirit filled Christian I went from Halloween being my favorite holiday when I was not saved, to not being able to participate from conviction after being saved. I used to love haunted houses and went after getting saved then I experienced the fear of the Lord to never participate in those activities again. As a family we don’t celebrate Halloween, we shine our light bright and offer hot chocolate and coffee in exchange to meet and pray for neighbors, with huge signs that Jesus loves them, we witness to anyone we can.
It’s not up to us to start new missions like taking back what the devil or world has stolen. What we have and what is coming is far greater. We have more important things we are supposed to be doing than considering the past and fighting for what was. We are here to shine the light of Christ in the world and expose unbelievers to the kingdom.
The gift of conviction in my heart is what saved me from the new age and the occult, just last year. This halloween I found myself again with that undeniable conviction in my heart. But also, post new age I can see red flags from that trap from far away now. I don’t have the desire or energy to sift for the “innocent” parts of halloween. I do not support the glamorization or watering down of witchcraft, spells, occult influenced decor, etc. I hear you that it didn’t start that way but that’s what it is now.
Yes. This . I too am a Born Again Christian. I too was in the New Age and all of it. I've been set free ... Some things the Lord worked on my heart on for years... Like yoga. But now I have left that behind. I have a conviction and the Lord used Abstain from all appearance of evil on my heart. He does surgery on us via the holy Spirit and His word
Jesus didn’t celebrate them, but Jesus prayed for them and rescued them when He descended to the dead after his Crucifixion. “On the third day He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, He descended to the dead, and rose again on the third day…” Apostles Creed “It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins.” - 2Machabees 46 DR “Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.” -2Thess. 2:14 DR
are these the same people that give Catholics shit for venerating the saints and Mary? lol some people are just full of shit and make the Bible conform to their beliefs
One thing I’ve noticed that is very troubling is the amount of kindergarten through 5th graders who dress up as creepy characters. I’m a teacher and we let the kids dress up on Friday and collect candy and eat cookies and cupcakes and all the things. The majority of kids were dressed up as “skin walkers”, I don’t even know what that is, some kids dressed as the Chuckey doll, zombies, grim reaper, witches, and many had demonic looking masks. I don’t think adults, Christian or not, should be watching or exposed to that stuff and kids DEFINITELY shouldn’t be exposed to it. I realize that’s the parents choice, I just don’t think it’s a good choice. Those kids dressed as skin walkers were really terrifying.
IDK about all that. They spoke about the history which by their own words embodied evil and wickedness...... and something to be loathed especially by Christians. My position remains unchanged and somewhat even more fortified in that I will continue to despise Holloween.
I had issues with this podcast too. They seemed to be advocating for the full embracing of Halloween in order to "reclaim it." That's just wrong. I did a response video to this podcast because of my concerns and it's on my channel, if interested.
Kids coming to our door is a perfect opportunity to share the gospel, yet most Christians are too focused on what’s evil about Halloween instead of following God’s command to share the Love of Jesus… Lord, have mercy and grace on us!
Most likely kids are only coming to the door if it's been decorated in Honor of halloween 🎃... Is it truly possible to show deference to another lord while proclaiming the Name of The LORD? Matthew 15:8-9 [8]These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. [9]Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men. [Isa. 29:13.]
Then share with us how many times have you shared the gospel with little kids that knocked on your door asking for candy and tell us the outcome of that evangelistic moment. Did they ask questions? Were they interested to go to church with you?
The church loves to compromise convictions in the name of evangelism. I use to give out candy with tracts...but realized that Jesus didn't partake in evil to share truth. Only by God's Drawing a person can they be saved. We can give tracts out and evangelize without partaking in darkness. We don't have to compromise with the world to win the lost. We are to be separate.
We never celebrated Halloween but where I live now is veeeeryyy popular….I still don’t celebrate such satanic thing but for me as Christian the fact that on the first we celebrate all saints is such an eye opener….🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 let’s pray without ceasing on that satanic day 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What a better day to pass out gospel tracts when people are coming straight to you! Make the most of opportunity and pass out candy bags with gospel tracts in them!
Exactly! That’s our church’s approach and I love it. Personally, I don’t think Jesus would be hiding inside on Halloween, he would be out talking to people ❤ I’m also not going to tell a Christian they have to partake if they feel convicted otherwise. 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t think this is worth The Church fighting over.
Gospel tracks do nothing but make people roll their eyes and harden their hearts to Jesus even more. Because it’s shoving something in their face that they most likely already have negative associations with and didn’t ask for. It’s time we start sharing the gospel the right and affective way: through sacrificial, loving relationship in our communities. Truly SHOWING people who Jesus was by how we care for and invest in them and then speaking of what God is doing in our lives. Not in a “I have to share this with you because I’m trying to sell you something” kinda way. But in a “This is something that is truly such a part of my life that I can’t help but talk about it” kinda way. And they’ll already know us and our character so well, our words will actually hold weight and impact.
It isn't actually. It was begun by the Catholic church. Not completely pagan as we thought. Hallows Eve. See Pastor Justin Peirce's expose on Halloween, it's on Apologetics Live and Doreen Virtue interviewed him too. Excellent work.
@@mercyp7151 the catholic church was kinda pagan. The even changed the Lords day to Sunday to allow pagans in the church because the pagans worshipped the sun.
@@mercyp7151 The catholic church, possibly because it lacked many legitimate conversions, it seems; simply tried to "christianize" many pagan things; but doing so, doesn't actually make them "Christian". Christmas may have originated in a similar way, however, I don't believe there is anything wrong with celebrating Christ's Birth; but "halloween" is a day that presently and very obviously celebrates evil, or tries to commune with the dead in some way; and therefore should be rejected by true Christians.
@@mercyp7151 The Catholic Church is pagan. That's why it had the practices which the Reformers sought to flee in the first place. Luther called it right in saying that the pope is the antichrist because that is exactly the role each Pope plays on the world stage. With all of this said, this goes to show how Allie Beth Stuckey is leading Christians INTO the world and not away from it.
I don't know.......I've seen interviews with folks who used to be witches, warlocks or high priestess who all say that is the night that a lot of rituals are done.. and I was an avid Halloween person because I remember it from my childhood as a innocent, carefree time of being out in the cool, crisp evening dressed up and getting candy.. I was bummed to find out from the other interviews I've seen that it's evil...
Honest question though, how is a child dressing up and walking around getting candy AIDING those people who are off doing rituals somewhere? I don't disagree the rituals are happening but trick or treating seems completely unrelated to me.
@@chelseabarker2250 look up John Ramirez, he used to be a high ranking warlock/Satanist, he was born into it and spent 25 years as Satan's minion.. He talks about Satanists putting curses or spells on candy they hand out (among other things he talks about)...
@@DG-yd4nh I also watched it. And I watched a recent video on Deep Believer. Very disturbing. You're initiating your child unawares basically, if you dress him/ her up in those outfits. Evil is out there in this day - not hiding anymore. Let those who have eyes, see. Let those who have ears, hear. Proverbs 11:9 says, Through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
We can be the light to our neighbors by hosting a block party, like in spring. Bring goodies to their homes anytime we make them. Invite them over for a cookout. I personally don't think we need to participate in what this day has become. And there are so many more scary decorations and costumes now them ever before. It'll only get worse, my kids don't need to think this is something I'm ok with.
These guys are missing the mark. I don’t agree that “it doesn’t have pagan roots”….but even if it didn’t have those roots, it doesn’t mean it is a holiday worth celebrating TODAY for Christians. Why is it that so many pagans don’t celebrate Christian holidays, but yet Christians are so quick to celebrate pagan holidays??? I don’t see pagans celebrating Good Friday lol You can’t say “oh well people will come to my door and I can give them the gospel”…but I’ve literally NEVER heard of any halloween conversion testimonies. There are no redeeming traits for halloween.
Agreed. They most definitely missed the mark. I had many concerns with this episode and did a response video to it because I was so troubled by it. It's on my channel, if interested.
One of my favorite Bible verses about things like this is: to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. I Corinthians 9:22-23 Halloween is one of the easiest ways to spread the gospel. I have my little trick or treat bags ready with a gospel track and candy. Someone's getting saved tonight! My husband and I are going to pray over it. We are planting the seed so someone can water it so the Lord will get the increase. I wish churches would tell their members to give out candy with gospel tracks in there. If they did that you would see an increase, b/ how else are you going to get to some of these people. They're coming to your house!!!! Why not come to a Christian's house and get some candy that has been prayed over and have a life-saving tool in there. I used to be against completely, but I think God for wisdom and for his word. I am not for celebrating it, but I am for sharing the gospel everyday and all day. Do it for the gospel so that some may be saved.
When God convicts us from a holliday or things we have always done, it is because we are to put Him first. Once we learn His Feast, His ways then He returns to us our feast days, Hopefully to better it all. He teaches the right way to do things instead of the worlds ways. If we are to let our light shine, then we have to learn how. Remember God is spirit, we are both flesh and spirit. God created both and loves it all. Our ways are corrupt, He will fix all who want to change for the better. Many times when we try to do things His way we miss, just as any child incorrectly copies his father. But we try and one day we will be good at it and we can walk perfect as He is perfect, and be Holy as He is Holy. We also need to remember God's laws was given to a nation so no one person or family can do the whole law. It takes a nation. Our job is to find people willing to learn from God by obeying what they can from His Word, all of it. We have to be doers and not just hearers, or set back and let the world take what we know was or is good.
As someone who has to have a conversation every year with my unbelieving family that Christmas and Easter don’t have pagan roots. It’s very important to know the history of stuff because the devil will try to distort these things
I enjoy Halloween. I also love Jesus. I think when believers operate in our God-given freedom, it'll shame the devil. Because he's trying to mock God, but God turns everything meant for evil for our good. Also, no day belongs to Satan. God made the day, blessed it and called it good. So, believers shouldn't be so quick to give something that belongs to God over to the Devil. Redeem the times.
How about we celebrate the 7 feasts that were appointed by Yah and not man made holidays, regardless if Pagan or not it's still a man made holiday. We are not to follow the traditions of man or the ways of this world. We are called to be set apart.
@@slash903 Matthew 5.17 Christ said he didn't come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He never said to stop celebrating the Holy Days. Christ was a Hebrew Israelite from the tribe of Judah, and he honored all the Holy Days, and the Sabbath
I see a lot of comments very negative about this. The guy even said he doesn't participate in Halloween based on his own convictions. But let's remember that this is not a salvation issue. Have some grace for people who have different convictions than you do and be able to lovingly back up your point if need be. Someone I know puts it this way, "We don't participate in Halloween, etc but we don't condemn others or try to sway others that do".
Unfortunately I think my previous message was removed because I mentioned my blog post about Halloween. Fair enough. I just saw the commercial about covenant eyes. Does Halloween as your hosts are describing it pass the smell test of Philippians 4:8? No. And it certainly doesn’t pass the smell test the way it is presented today.

I found these guests very confusing. What does it matter what the roots/history are? The fact remains that those who have been saved out of witchcraft and satanism will tell you about the darkness from experience, and ask, “what fellowship does light have with darkness?” Let’s use our God-given discernment and also listen to those who have experience in the matter. I won’t allow myself to reason my way into “celebrating” Halloween.
I agree that it was confusing too. Hearing about people who came to Jesus after coming out of witchcraft to not practice it is enough for me to think it is not something to celebrate as a Christian..

Love Cultish! Anyway, no matter what one thinks of Halloween, one thing we should agree with, is that it’s a great way to get the Gospel out…. But not just in the way most people think! It’s a great night to go door to door with the Gospel!
I really appreciated this episode! I'm surprised by the comments though! 😳 if you watched the entire episode you would understand the point of this entire conversation. To directly quote: you must let your convictions be wrought by the Holy Spirirt and not your own emotional impulses and base your convictions on historical reality. If you are not doing that than uou are bound, as was stated, to make rash judgements based on fear and not faith in God. Whether you choose to enjoy Halloween or choose to not celebrate, let your convictions be ruled by wise discernment, historical accuracy and not taking Scripture out of context and not being judgemental or harsh towards those who believe differently. I appreciate the balanced discussions/interviews on Allie's videos!
You can't put lipstick on a pig. That's like saying any given sin/evil is a subjective matter. Coming from a counter cult ministry, it's totally ironic.
It's important that we as a people piece together back the true history of this country. Ignorance of our history is being weaponized against us. They do not say you have to celebrate it or even that you should. They are merely giving the history. This is important work.
The weaponized ignorance is deliberate. The Bible warned us His people would perish for a lack of knowledge. It warned we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities. It also stated time and again that His people were a peculiar people, set apart from this world. It mentions a wide path and a narrow path. Our Father wants us to walk the narrow path. These simple statements apply to so many aspects of our lives in our society that strives to keep us ignorant and on the wide path.
Watching you from Ireland. We always understood Halloween to be catholic holiday growing up as a Catholic but then I learned of it's even darker origins. The Lord of darkness and the sacrafices made to the pagan God. It's not even really disputed here anymore that it's pagan. People here love Halloween. It's a true sign of the idolatry of the age we are in. I love watching your show Allie:) I'm a mum too so I totally understand why you'd be concerned about these things. keep up the good work getting the truth out there.
I have never in my life been one to "overthink" Halloween. At 63 most of my life Christian, I have always thought of Halloween as fun, costume, candy. I'm sure in History there is some kind of darkness, but I do not observe or entertain that. My Lord and Savior knows my heart, if my grandkids want to dress up as Elasa from Frozen, or a cute black cat and meet neighbors who give them candy, I am 100 % good with that! This is what changes the darkness of history (which I never knew. I don't want to be a part of What is unknown to me.
That is just as bad as celebrating Halloween because it's celebrating the birth of a false religion. And before anyone starts making assumptions, this is far from being a pro-Catholicism statement. It's a pro-Bible statement.
Really confused by a lot of the comments.. it feels like they didn’t watch the whole video. I appreciated this conversation, it was very interesting. Loved the last bit about how we need to use discernment and be governed by the Holy Spirit and not our emotions
Instead of Halloween I decorate for thanksgiving. Everybody's house are so ugly and mine is lovely saying happy thanksgiving. I also Instagram that I thank God and the people around me this season. And I am thinking to make a sign, we don't celebrate evil or darkness, because we love the Light.
The origins are Scottish. 'An t-Samhain' is our Gaelic name for November. The day itself is supposed to be a day when the pathway from the spirit world to the physical world is closer and so spirits would roam. People would disguise themselves as spirits (called 'guising' in Scotland) and go to a house to request something to appease them otherwise they would do something mischievous to their household. That became known as Trick of Treat in the US.
Thank you for this informative discussion. My aunt is Catholic and for her this is a lovely day. I loved learning the true origins. Christians have a tendency to cherry pick their holidays and love to try to be holy spirit for others.
Wow! These comments are something else today! I appreciate the conversation, even if I'm not sure I agree with the conclusions other Christians may or may not make. Thanks for sharing.
Take Halloween back , dress up as your favorite Saint and Bible characters it’s the best free evangelization . Dress like Moses or Saint Peter or John the Baptist
The guys are correct in their historical analysis. However Samhain was indeed an ancient pagan festival, celebrating the end of the lunar year etc. Megalithic tomb engravings(3-4000yrs old) demonstrate that this was an important time of the year for the people living in pre-Christian Europe. And although the etymological origins of the word 'Samhain' may bring into dispute the origins of Hallowe'en, the significance of this yearly pagan festival was profound. And yes All Saints Day is also very antiquated. What is gleaned over by a lot of modern day researchers is the context in which early Christianity spread through Northern Europe. The early Christian missionaries arrived in Ireland, for example, to find a population who had festivals and celebrations throughout the lunar year, and what happened was a ‘grafting’ or blending of Christian beliefs onto the pagan annual cycle. This can be envinced by simply observing the remains of ancient Christian Churches in Ireland, they were typically built upon sites where the local pre-Christian people congregated to practice their pagan rituals and festivals. Many people overlook the idea that in Ireland there was fostered an archaic form of Christianity that was a blend of Celtic and Christian ideals, this is the real root of Hallowe’en, all this changed with the reformation of the Catholic Church under Charlemagne, where Catholicism became the hegemonic European superpower we all know in the history books today.
Allie I love hearing historical views. I did not grow up in a Christian home. All of us kids loved Halloween - a chance to dress up and be whoever you wanted to be. We got to go to neighbors homes and got candy! Later when I had children (as a Christian) while living on military bases, we decided to have the fun I did growing up. We decorated very harvest bright. I told the girls this was a day to dream and be whatever you wanted to be. I know there is evil out there but evil is out there every day hidden all around us. My special needs daughter and I do not like any dark scarey things but the joy she has giving out to candy and complimenting kids is a special to her.
A serious lack of discernment here. There was so much wrong with this broadcast I wouldn't know where to begin. Ask yourself why more children go missing just before Halloween than the rest of the year combined. Made me ill to listen to it.

A LOT of people here are blinded by pre-held biases and pride. When I faithfully did the research on Halloween - through scripture AND history (not blogs, ACTUAL historical documents)- I was surprised by my findings and how not black and white it is. It's origins are not what everyone says it is - its not as evil as what they say. However, in other cultures, Halloween is indeed a dark holiday (but then again, so is Christmas - there are many Satanists whom do occult rituals on this day. Doesnt mean the day is bad though). If you are a Christian and are at all offended by this video or what Cultish says- maybe that's your pride and you should check in with a humble heart. Remember to be kind to those who have different convictions, you will end up in heaven with them anyway.
There is only ONE conviction that matters...the conviction of the Holy Spirit...and no....unfortunately those that follow their own convictions will not be our neighbors in heaven. I pray that you find salvation through faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus mighty Name...Amen
@@teaminvictus2375 Pretty sure you missed the point being made. Sounds like the poster is speaking of believers with different convictions about the day. Loved the information in this video. As a Christian who has begin to truly study the Bible and Christian/church history this is good to know. I agree we need not be ignorant of the true history behind things. So many, including me, have been believing the false history behind it for so many years. Not to sat I want to fully celebrate Halloween because of what the culture has done to it. If more people new the truth they would be surprised though.
A few years ago I was praying and I asked the Lord to reveal anything in my life that did not please Him. He immediately replied Halloween. Up until that point I had never considered that my participation was wrong. I only took my kids to church Halloween events and they never dressed in dark or scary costumes. So, as I researched Halloween what I found was lots of testimonies from people who came out of the occult into Christianity warning Christians to have nothing to do with Halloween. So despite the “accurate history” given in this video, my Lord told me not to participate and that’s enough for me.
I appreciated this conversation a lot. The comments depress me though, I wish Christians would spend more time listening to their brothers and sisters in Christ

This is so simple and I'm not sure why true Christians argue on weather celebrating Halloween is fine or not... First why would a born-again person who is called to be light in this world want to be associated or take part in such a dark and scary celebration? And second ask yourself is Jesus Christ would walk the earth in today would you see Him taking part of this celebration, would He be bringing HIs father any honor and glory by doing so?

I'm so convicted about not celebrating Halloween, especially being a former Catholic and occult practitioner. I've seen demons with my own eyes, and there's nothing cool about allowing the Catholic church to define what's right/wrong, rather than the Bible.
Also, if you ask John Ramirez (ex satanist) he might have a differing opinion on why we shouldn't celebrate Halloween. I've listened to John Ramirez who was a high satanic priest who is now a spirit filled Christian and I think you need to consider what halloween is in the light of that perspective, he contends that its the launch of their high holy days. These are the questions I ask myself when deciding on engaging in something:
Am I exposing myself to sin?
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Am I conforming to the world or God’s perfect will for my life?
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
Is it going to bring spiritual improvement?
““I have the right to do anything,” you say-but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”-but not everything is constructive.”
1 Corinthians 10:23
Does it further the gospel? Are you going to cause a brother or sister to stumble? Are my actions going to encourage sin in my neighbour?
“For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;”
I Corinthians 9:19
Will it cause me to be enslaved?
“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”
I Corinthians 6:12 NKJ
Does it violate my conscience?
“But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.”
Romans 14:23
Does it glorify God?
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
I Corinthians 10:31

Well said!

Great points.

So true!

This people are twisting Saints Days with Halloween, you don't need much studying to feel the evil spirit of Halloween.
That's right. Many want to justify rather than consult with the Lord for guidance on the subject.
take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? It is the eve of All Saints day (1 nov). Big fiests start with the vigilia and evening prayers the night before the main day of celebration. 2 nov is the ”All souls day” when families remember their deceased members and do special decorations on the graves with candles and flowers…..,at least in Europe..

I was decorating up until last year. I chose only things like spiders, bats etc. but God convicted me of that. Now we decorate for fall and just leave those up. We do pass out full size candy bars with tracts taped to them. The fact is, God has let Halloween continue. He could stop it if He wants to. So if kids are going to come to my house and ask for candy, they are going to get candy with the love of Jesus attached. One year I gave out candy with a tract to this girl about 13 or 14. She left and then came running back and said “That’s really cool that you are handing these (tract in her hand) out!” I said thank you!!! That one girl gave me hope.

Like yoga.
Kids coming to our door is a perfect opportunity to share the gospel, yet most Christians are too focused on what’s evil about Halloween instead of following God’s command to share the Love of Jesus…
Lord, have mercy and grace on us!
Most likely kids are only coming to the door if it's been decorated in Honor of halloween 🎃...
Is it truly possible to show deference to another lord while proclaiming the Name of The LORD?
Matthew 15:8-9
[8]These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me.

This is equivalent to the religious leaders' rationalizations of why they were willfully disobeying God...
Yes, Helloween is pagan period.
It isn't actually. It was begun by the Catholic church. Not completely pagan as we thought. Hallows Eve. See Pastor Justin Peirce's expose on Halloween, it's on Apologetics Live and Doreen Virtue interviewed him too. Excellent work.

One of my favorite Bible verses about things like this is:
to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. I Corinthians 9:22-23
Halloween is one of the easiest ways to spread the gospel.

You can't put lipstick on a pig. That's like saying any given sin/evil is a subjective matter. Coming from a counter cult ministry, it's totally ironic.
To use All Saints day as a justification, is to concede that it's pagan. That is historically accurate.

Hey thanks! I've seen that word in a game before , Samhain, and it was used for the harvest special but I had no idea
Thank you for this informative discussion. My aunt is Catholic and for her this is a lovely day. I loved learning the true origins. Christians have a tendency to cherry pick their holidays and love to try to be holy spirit for others.

Halloween is a Christian holiday be careful when you claim God told you not to celebrate a holiday that glorifies Him & his people
I appreciated this conversation a lot. The comments depress me though, I wish Christians would spend more time listening to their brothers and sisters in Christ
Shouldn’t you say listen to scripture & Jesus?
Christianity shouldn't be feelings based. Wounds from a sincere friend are better than kisses from the enemy proverbs 27.6
As a sister in Christ I would advise to abstain from evil occult practices. Be led by the Holy Spirit.
I was compelled to response to you. These guys are deceived. Anybody who has the spirit of God will discern this obvious evil satanic occasion. All the Bible verse they mention is mostly the about loving your neighbors like your self, but they forgot the most important commandments of all “ Love thy God with all your heart, mind. Body, souls, spirit and strength.”. You guys have it backwards that’s why your deceived. I rebuke this false information in Jesus name.
theres a LOT of cognitive dissonance in the comments
This is so simple and I'm not sure why true Christians argue on weather celebrating Halloween is fine or not... First why would a born-again person who is called to be light in this world want to be associated or take part in such a dark and scary celebration? And second ask yourself is Jesus Christ would walk the earth in today would you see Him taking part of this celebration, would He be bringing HIs father any honor and glory by doing so?
Considering he was a Jew and had no idea what the fuck was going on in Northern Europe probably no
Roman Catholicism... IS PAGANISM!!! What else does anyone need to know?!?
It's not
@@thorpeaaron1110 It's not, what?
@@ActualTruth123 Paganism
@@thorpeaaron1110 Romanism absolutely is 💯 PAGAN to the core! You can't reconcile anything "roman catholic " with biblical Christianity according to Scripture. Nothing. I'll be your audience... How do Roman Catholics answer the question, "what must a man do to be saved?"
Do I have to go to purgatory without an indulgence, or a cash donation?
What does Mary have to do with ANYTHING regarding salvation or praying directly to God?
Is the Pope the VICAR of Christ on earth?
That's a good start and I invite you to use Scriptures to justify any of those Roman pagan false beliefs. I'll wait
... It's all a LIE my friend. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!
The Roman Catholic Church is the original church, that’s why I left the Lutheran church (in Sweden) and converted!
My church sets up a table on the sidewalk with hot cider, cookies and hands out tracts on Halloween during the city trick or treat night. It's a way to reach the lost on a night when lots of people are out and about.
All Hollows Eve is a great opportunity to evangelize and spread Jesus's love. Hand out prayers with the candy.
Kids are smart- we need to teach them the truth and they understand- no darkness for my precious children
Can't shield them forever
I'm so convicted about not celebrating Halloween, especially being a former Catholic and occult practitioner. I've seen demons with my own eyes, and there's nothing cool about allowing the Catholic church to define what's right/wrong, rather than the Bible. Allowing the Catholic church to set your moral/behavioral guidelines is a short road to ruin -- period. Also, Halloween has nothing to do with Guy Fawkes day...that's an historically inaccurate stretch, at best. I pray the Holy Spirit helps us all see the truth about Catholic-based holidays. The Catholic church is not authoritative to me -- God and God's Word are!
I really do not like people who comment without watching, but @RightResponseMinistries has a great video on Halloween… and talks specifically about the difference between Halloween and Christmas and Easter! 🔥
Here it is.

It does seem like Christians and non Christians have commented on this video without actually watching it.
This time, I was actually one of those people! I did not watch this. I am at my capacity for Christians and Halloween this year. 🤣
I do not have watch drag queen story hour to dislike it, same here. Apologizing for paganism is disgusting, I do not need to hear their rationalizations.
@@rickiecomeaux8287 Even everything in society is rooted in paganism
As a Catholic, I love celebrating All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day with my family so that we can remember our loved ones who have died and the saints who have entered heaven. Im excited to make it a tradition to teach my children about different saints and how they lived Holy lives. So far I’m okay with trick or treating and dressing up (in costumes that aren’t really evil) but I am not okay with rated R demonic horror films or haunted houses. I used to do those things when I was a child for the thrill but now as I’ve taken my faith more seriously none of that stuff sits right with me at all. Anything demonic has no place in my life
In light of what it IS today, this felt very much like Christians trying hard to justify not giving up something they personally like.
