    'I am a good mother!'
Evelyn was never cut out to be a parent in the first place. Lucy may have been a wild child, but she didn't help by telling Sarah not to give her timeouts because it would 'stifle her creativity'. All Evelyn did was enable her child and leave Sarah to deal with her, then punished her for crying nonstop by shaking her.

I can understand to a degree. It’s panic. Once when I was 12 I had to stay in the car with my baby sister while my mom went to the store. As my mom left, she started crying non-stop, I didn’t know what to do. And it just gave me so much panic and anxiety that I started crying hard too, begging her to stop. I started shaking her too. But it felt so terrible, and she didn’t stop crying anyway. So I stopped after a few seconds. I didn’t harm her thankfully. I was too young and weak to shake her too hard anyway. But I felt so guilty. I wouldn’t even dare shake her like that again. I share this to make the point that, in the episode,*HOWEVER* that is a grown woman. I understand the frustration, but I also don’t understand how you can’t control yourself especially as an adult and a mother

    • @synergisticcollusion134
      @synergisticcollusion134 3 місяці тому +3

@@nickynicks_ Not to say that I condone this action, but the answer is simple, really. You take the anxiety, panic & frustration that you said you felt and multiply it by at least 10; for all the additional stress & frustration that an adult/parent experiences, which is easily & quickly compounded & exacerbated by a non-stop crying baby/child. In these situations, it usually happens so fast that they're already doing it or did it before they even realized they'd hit their snapping point.

I vaccinated my son. But it was scary. His doctor talked to me, explained clearly everything. We compromised. I agreed to vaccine because it is safer then my child getting ill. She agreed to give his shots staggered and separately. This way if there was a bad reaction (highly unlikely) we could know exactly which shot, treat it immediately, and report the reaction. That is how doctors should treat frightened patients. Diplomacy: it means talking to people.

People these days are spoiled, because they didn’t have to live through the days when 70% of kids would die from any number of diseases before the age of 5. They think the threat is gone, so there’s no point. But there are other places in the world where these diseases are still rampant, and shocker, the people there are trying to move out of those countries. So if you introduce these people into your country, then everyone still needs to be vaccinated, to prevent the spread of these diseases. And when you point out that the threat is still real, and that vaccines have been proven to work over the past couple hundred years, they claim it’s a conspiracy and double down. They complain about big pharmaceutical companies, but odds are they’ve all used a variety of over the counter pain killers, rash creams, ear wax removers, and so on; all of which were made by these same companies. Never mind the REAL stuff you can throw at big pharma. Like the overpricing of insulin, or the underpricing of opioids like OxyContin, leading to an epidemic of opioid addiction, and more people dying because they can’t afford their insulin.
But I can almost guarantee you, you won’t hear most of them say anything like this: _Let’s go after the _*_legitimate medical practices!_*_ Painkillers? Pfft! Bite down on a belt while the surgeons work on you. Hope you aren’t a squirmer! Is that a rash? Let it heal and hope it doesn’t spread or get infected. Clogged ear? Ignore it. Cut? Rub some dirt in it. Headache? You’re imagining things._

The second one I could immediately tell it was about Casey Anthony, the fake babysitter, the buying the tarp and shovel, the concerned other person being the one to bring it up to the cops instead of her...
Of course in this version it wasn't murder, at least not directly, she's just an anti-vaxxer (which frankly should've been considered murder). In the real Casey Anthony case, her daughter was found buried in a shallow grave with duct tape covering her nose and mouth. Her cause of death was suffocation, but the defense argued she had drowned in the family pool and Casey panicked and tried to hide it.
In the real case, Casey went off partying for a month before her mother found out her daughter was msising and called police. Then she told lie after lie after lie after lie to try and cover herself.
She was acquitted and walks free today because her lawyer mounted a genuinely talented defense where he argued not necessarily that Casey was innocent, but purely that the state couldn't prove she was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Always feel worse after the ER it’s traumatizing. Urgent care is a different story though, with my insurance it’s a $50 co pay and it’s much quicker and they actually will prescribe you something to help. You don’t slap a baby across the face. And of course she’s unruly, she’s a baby girl! Not all children are the same, but none of them are gonna act like pretty and quiet baby dolls 24/7! They have good days and they have bad days.
My niece is a month from having her half birthday and while she is a good baby, she gets fussy. If she doesn’t have her bottle in time, she’s gonna get fussy and cranky because she’s waited too long. If she pooped herself, she’s gonna be extra squirmy. That doesn’t mean that she should be abused. And that baby girl didn’t need to be slapped across the face for being disruptive. She should’ve been talked to and given punishment, not abuse people call “discipline” for some disgusting reason.
I know this is a show, but I also know that situations like these are real. I know some babies have parents who cook m*th in their homes. I know some girls get SA’d at a young age. I know some parents verbally, mentally, and physically abuse their children. It just fills me with rage that some people act like this. As the wise saying goes, “every child deserves a parent, but not all parents deserve a child”

There's a woman who brings a towel to the theme parks in fl and pretends its a child. The workers at the park are trained to react to the towel like it's a real child. Like telling the woman her baby is too small to ride certain rides. So i feel like the episode was very florida themed

In many countries we already make it illegal in the form of neglect or vaccination schedules. You get a fine for not vaccinating your kid with some of the most important vaccines (and they often have to be free, if not tons of people who can’t afford it would be fined at no fault of their own)
In the US the most you could be forced to vaccinate your kids is during local epidemics or after deep injuries. If you refuse then it’s medical neglects against the child. Schools make it mandatory but have a lot of loopholes and parents can just tick a box and skip the rule.

Real nice idea for people on chemo, or with autoimmune issues, or people who have been injured, or people who have allergy based disorders/diseases. Not everybody CAN be vaccinated just fyi. Lots of people don't get a choice.

@xxoxEVAxoxx you sound like a real pleasant person 🙄 as people with immunity issues we of all people should understand somebody else wanting to avoid potential injury. You don't get to pick who takes what medication. If you're that worried about it, YOU stay out of public.

@@ry.butterfly IF everyone who CAN be vaccinated *IS* vaccinated, then those immunocompromised people who CAN'T get vaccinated *CAN* be out in public because then they're much less likely to contract anything. That's the entire concept of "Herd Immunity." *You're* the one arguing that immunocompromised people should stay out of public, not us.

One of my kids is not vaccinated. She had a bad reaction and the doc said no more til she got older.
My youngest is fully up to date and has all his shots.
A kid isn’t always unvaxxed thanks to subpar parents.

No, but it usually IS the reason. Medical reasons like your child’s are RARE. So most unvaccinated children ARE unvaccinated because their parents are pathetic.

The whole point of herd immunity is to protect kids like yours and the ones with compromised immune systems in general when they can't risk the vaccination. But the subpar parents are the reason we don't have herd immunity and why kids like yours are in danger.

I’m not a mom yet and I’m not an anti vac or anything cause when I have kids I do plan to get them vaccinated , but I wish there was a way to space them out just to make sure if doesn’t affect them badly instead of multiple at in a visit. I remember how they made me feel and being stuck with multiple times as a kid is what made me freak out and unpleasant, and half the time I use to see military doctors who weren’t as patient or nice when it came to shots and needles. I hope when I have kids I can just get them at least a few weeks apart at least to make sure they react okay to the medicine. Especially since I’ve personally had certain reactions to certain medications.
