The 1st plot twist in this package was probably THE most shocking plot twist I've seen in any SVU episode; you could feel it building during that scene in the precinct, once she said we slept together one night '17 years ago' followed by 'do the math'.....then it started to add up & you just waited for the 'big reveal' to happen....wild stuff.
I feel so bad for that last guy. Not only did he lose the love of his life, he found out her killer was his sister-in-law and had been in his bed ever since. You just don't recover from that kind of thing.
If I remember right Ava didn't kill her sister. Someone mistook her for Ava and killed her. Ava took her place so that the people would think they were right and she was dead.
@@JaneDoeSignedHancock That's the one! Ava started dating and sleeping with rich men and having them buy expensive gifts for her that she would then sell. When one guy went by the apartment, found and choked Irina, r**ed her, and ended up killing her, all whilst thinking she was Ava, Ava took the opportunity to hide by taking Irina's identity and carried on amassing money. In the end they found out that the money was to buy the freedom of a third, younger, sister that the guy and the Mail Order Brides woman had forced into prostitution to pay back what she "owed" after her husband didn't want her.
I remember having to literally pause the video and just say there stunned while processing that entire thing. I’ve never been so stun-locked by a plot twist before.
One other thing that will never cease to amaze me is how the Police will be trying to arrest or talk to a suspect that is standing over100 yards away from them. Then they yell, “hey police, stop there” giving the perp ample time to run away from you. Why not get closer enough to reduce the space between you & the perp before shouting “Hey we’re the police” eventually leading to a foot chase for several miles
The first episode worst part is when the girl smiles at Olivia and says "I knew it, I knew I couldn't be a daughter of garbage man" than she says the "connection" she felt while sleeping with the creep was due to that. Girl is nuts and have so many broke things in her, was freaking disturbing.
There's such a thing as "genetic sexual attraction." People who are related and don't know it who meet as adults have some kind of instinctive connection that at least feels like sexual attraction if they weren't raised together -- knowing each other as children (or when one is a child) is what creates a "family" feeling, which in turn creates the feeling of revulsion at the idea of sleeping with someone (this is how ancient Egyptians were able to marry their siblings, girls and boys were raised separately and usually didn't meet until teens or adulthood). The writers clearly knew about that and were portraying it intentionally when they wrote those lines, which is pretty genius writing!
@@MorganChaosYeah but there’s been cases where a parent meets the child they gave up for adoption and they sleep together knowing they are biologically related.
@@sleepypanda9085 Yeah, because just knowing doesn't create the instinctive revulsion. People do feel it most of the time because we instill the revulsion culturally, but a cultural belief can get overridden a lot more easily than an instinct.
Its about genetics we as humans want to pass on our own genetics so when we meet someone we are related to but don't know we usually have a strong attraction to them it is usually stronger the closer related you are because your mind picks up on all the traits you share that are the same and how likely you are to pass those traits on
The mother was the true villain of the first episode. She cheated on her husband 17 years earlier, she then took her daughter to the creep she cheated with knowing very well he was a creep to teach her music, she made her husband believe the girl was his for 16 years, she finds out the creep is sleeping with her daughter and does a shocked pikachu face, and only tells her husband that she cheated on him because she had to because she told the creep he was the girl's father. If it wasn't for the mother, the events of the first episode wouldn't have happened.
Id like to point out she didnt know he was a creep to teenagers, he manipulated her into sleeping with him(on her too, she was willing) she probably still had some sort of attachment to him with his music, she had no idea he would groom her daughter like that
yea that mother has some fucked up morals, and honestly it sounds a lot like something my mom would do if she were wealthy. my mothers a narcissist btw.
Is she a good wife? No. But if it's a small town and he's a good teacher, why would she equate a man being willing to sleep with a married adult woman with grooming and assaulting a child?

It'll take awhile, but it's really good, even the older seasons, excluding some out-of-date terminology (misgendering trans people, some psychiatric inaccuracies etc.)
The show starts off as a normal police procedural with some extra-lurid subject matter, but with every season it gets a little more bonkers, and there are seemingly ENDLESS episodes of it. I envy you the journey you're about to have.

@@Atmapalazzo well said, there have been cases of unknown biological siblings marrying because they were separated at very young ages and never knew of each other
Okay, hate me all you want, but the mother in the 1st episode, seems more upset that the teacher preferred her daughter than herself than the adult teacher grooming her child. Because she did say that he could have picked anyone else. And the way she delivered the final line, sounded like her getting a sweet sense of revenge.
That first episode.. utterly nauseating... but as I remember.. the girl actually was overjoyed that her father wasn't Will Sasso's character.. which is even more sickening.. as she completely glosses over in her mind that she had been committing incest. The second one absolutely could happen in real life.. because there are quite a few fertility doctors that do such horrible things. The last one.. was just so heart breaking.
