Lee, You bring so much joy into all our lives. You've taken us to many wonderful venues, sharing the behind-the-scenes of shows and all the people involved in making them happen. We are all better off having you in our lives, and for me, it's one of those times when "thank you" is not enough to show you how thankful I am. Happy Belated Birthday!
Fun Big Blue Wrecking Crew-[ such a relief to see guys wearing flares still in 81 ("They're coming back, man!" (as character Neal, hippie claimed in Brit sitcom "The Young Ones" lol]
Happy Birthday LeLand, mine is the 31st. my 71st. We don't get older , some of us get wiser, unlike you who just gets smoother with his best bud, your bass
That was a fun watch! Hope you had a great time with Mr. Keltner. Best of luck at the surgeon and on the session with Lari tomorrow! Romeo fully on the loose soon! Watch out, Pasadena! On another note, Happy Birthday, Mike Porcaro. Missed by many.
What a blast from the past with great hair and flares and never seen a Queen song covered like that. Great that Romeo will be able to experience an entire new playground and hoping all the best for Maureen. Sending positive thoughts and prayers. 🙏☮️
Thanks Lee, in the Words of the late great Bill Walton PUT THE MUSIC ON, as soon as it doesn’t seem right, change the music/station, but don’t turn it off
My favorite Dodgers World Series was in 1988, when Kirk Gibson, in the ninth inning of the first game (full count), hit a pinch-hit walk-off home run, and hobbled his way around the bases! It couldn't have been scripted better if Hollywood had written it!! Loved seeing the 1981 guys having so much fun celebrating their win here! ❤
Good evening, Lee!!! 😃👋❤️🥰 I'm so glad you had a nice birthday and a nice dinner! You so deserve it!!!🎂 🥰 Wow, I love this! How cool is this? And Andy Gibb! Talk about a walk down memory lane. I remember him on Solid Gold with Dionne Warwick! You know, the days TV had rabbit ears and six channels!😂 📺 I'm hoping to see you this year with Lyle, but I don't see anything listed for my area. 😔 Anyway, I've got Clubhouse in my calendar 📅 for next Wednesday! I'm looking forward to it! I love you, Lee! ❤🥰🤗
Great post Lee; I recall these guys also appearing on the Tonight Show as well. What a cast of characters those early 80's Dodger teams had on and off the field: Lasorda, Yeager, Cey, Russell, Johnstone, Monday, Baker, Garvey, Lopes, and Scioscia!
Greetings, Lee and all! What a treat to be sitting here, doing my work, and seeing a new video pop up! Love to Maureen. Love to Romeo. He will officially be a big boy today after he gets the last of his vaccinations. I hope you had a chocolatey treat yesterday.
Pure cheese...but that guitarist, Chris Bond! Superb! From Abandoned Luncheonette to this always great! (They looked a lot more comfortable once they stripped down to their Dodger Blue...but I was starting to get uncomfortable there for a moment - this Was the time of Chippendales...)
I remember Solid Gold, from the 1980s. It was a great TV show. This past weekend, I went to a Ukrainan festival. It was a lot of fun. I wish Maureen all the best. Cheers, Leland! 🙏✌️
I don't get on here too often Lee, but you are where I go for a little peace, a break, some good music, and tales from the other side. Thank you so much for sharing yourself and your time. Happy belated birthday. You are a gift!
Mr. Sklar, you're such an inspiration to my playing. I'm still finding albums that I listen to that you were on, spanning from rock to country and pop. Thank you so much for all you've done for music and bass. ( I'm also adopting your hair and beard look. 😎)
Well, before I felt old because I can still remember when CHOC had a thrift store to raise funds (rather than the big billboards and big time deep pocket donors they have today). But now I can feel old for having seen this CHOC fund raiser and getting the refresher on how long it has been since "Solid Gold" was on.🤔
That is a hoot! Added bonus is seeing young Marilyn McCoo. Fingers crossed for Maureen, hoping that her work and your support carry the day. Romeo gets his world expanded. His uncles will show him the good nose spots. Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍
@m1nn1s Hi, Andy! "Moving along" is encouraging, so keep moving. We're supposed to hook up our camper, or caravan, as is said over there, on Friday. During preparation work, I found a problem with the water heater and had to isolate it so we could connect to an outside water supply. The caravan is 30 years old(it doesn't look it). We can heat water on the stove. So, for now all's well.
So that was fun, but my biggest thrill is seeing Andy Gibb! I had a huge crush on him!!! Would love to hear if you’ve worked with his brothers, Leland… thx for the video today!
Leland your like a good wine your the best for get the rest good luck with all your stuff happy bday again good show an music song sounds good as always peace out Ciny PS hope all is well at home Maureen and the boys Out go big blue
You’re very much loved 🥰 you know even dumb clucks like me who don’t actually know you . Fingers crossed for a Good report from Maureen’s Dr.! When you’re in Texas. I hope the weather is settled it’s been crazy lately. So hold on to your hat 🧢!
We used to do Champions in the old band. It made me appreciate John Deacon a hell of a lot more I tell ya. That guy is GOOD. You did your usual phenomenal job on it from what I just heard! Neal Preston was on hand at that event huh?
Today’s track is certainly something different. It’s definitely a spirited rendition with choreography no less. I often wondered why you call it the World Series when it only involves teams from the States!?!
Stephen Wayne Yeager (75) is an American former professional baseball catcher. Yeager spent 14 of the 15 seasons of his Major League Baseball career, from 1972 through 1985, with the Los Angeles Dodgers. His last year, 1986, he played for the Seattle Mariners.
Robert James "Rick" Monday Jr. (78) is an American former professional baseball player who now serves as a broadcaster. He played in Major League Baseball as a center fielder from 1966 to 1984, most notably as a member of the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers with whom he won a World Series championship in 1981.
John William Johnstone Jr. (November 20, 1945 - September 26, 2020) was an American professional baseball player and television sports announcer. That is so AWESOME!!!!!!!! I miss these days!!!!!!
Love they have the stones to go on TV and do that.
Belated b-day acknowledgement fellow Gemini! I'm fortunately/unfortunately a Met fan and remember back when watching Solid Gold on Saturdays.
Happy (belated?) Birthday Leland!!!! My best to Maureen too! ("Shoulder surgeon"...and I always thought I was extremely specialized)
