Thanks so much for this. Very cool to see, how it looks from "guitarist perspective". What's the black strat Tim's playing? Is it Xotic?
Yes, It's an Xotic Strat :)
@@timpierceguitar Thank you! :)
I was gonna say if not someone's rippin off their headstock!!! I bet that thing plays itself...
@timpierceguitar thanks for sharing, this is amazing
I thought it looked like a Suhr.
Maybe the most important lesson I took from this video is the least obvious: Notice the reactions to Tim as he walks along, greeting these legends these legends. "I love you Tim!" An indispensable nonmusical skill to being a successful studio musician is being a nice guy. You always get called for sessions because people want to work with people they like! In ever video Tim makes, he is having at least as much fun as any viewer I can imagine.
Goes for most walks in life. There may be better coders, more numerical accountants, more intelligent managers but if you have social skills you're going to be more successful. Having watched Tim in countless interviews it's clear he's a genuine nice guy and very easy to work with.
Makes for a good life. Unfortunately the world also has a way of rewarding blind hubris and narcissism financially and with fame, especially in entertainment. As long was we support the people we want to see succeed across positive traits they get the love they earned.
@@CenterThePendulum Those traits are (unfortunately) also required for innovation and development but I know the reasons why I'm doing Tim's Masterclass and nobody elses 🙂
As others have also said: just don't be a DIKK in any walk of life. Just be a decent, human being, which for so many people these days is so pathetically difficult, even moreso than being a professional and highly competent at whatever activity it is you are doing with other people.
Well-said all the same. Problem is that people like you are NOT the ones who need this simple yet oh-so-critical reminder...
Not just knowing all these chords, sight reading, and knowing when to bring a part forward and not play "over" the other musicians is why this is PRO level work. Most guitarists can learn to "shred" with enough repetition and practice, but this is musicianship.
I still hate the Grammys, but I see why it is so cool for the back line musicians; thanks for sharing the cool stuff that they leave out of the show! ❤
How is it possible, after watching so many of Tim's videos and taking his class, that he never ceases to amaze. Just another level of playing.
The split screen was fantastic, great to see the relationship between parts and your relationship with the production.
Session musicians are the unsung heroes of the music industry. Thank you all for all you do ❤
Thank you for showing true professional musicians at work; your video production was excellent as well 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
It simply isn't possible to play at that level without the ability to read music and/or tab. If there's one thing I'd do differently if I had my time again, I'd learn to read music. You can only go so far playing by ear, and while I can get away with improvising in covers bands, as soon as it gets serious, I don't expect the call.
Well said Artemis and a surprise hello.👍
What a blast to watch!! And sure some really valuable lessons learned.
Thank you Tim!!

Always good to see you too 👍
It’s amazing to watch how world class professional musicians make it all come together. Thanks for sharing.
Damn Dean's rocking a squier and a revstar. That's awesome
That's a testament of how good those guitars can be!
It does kind of prove that if you're good, you'll sound good even on mid-priced instruments.
It’s not the arrow it’s the Indian
It could be of course that it has been heavily modified, but still... it caught my eye as well.
Revstars are surprisingly nice guitars for the money.
What a privilege to see and hear about these incredibly talented muscians behind the scenes. This is the Grammy's show I would prefer to watch.
Tim: ‘This is the bulletproof nature of the level of these musicians..’
Also Tim: Is one of them but never shines the light on himself.
It’s why you’re so great Tim.
Man… the way Dean Parks right hand was LITERALLY dancing on that Laufey song.
1:17 Dean's feel is somewhere between BB King's and David Gilmour's, here... Gorgeous phrasing.
So much fun to watch top professionals in their field make it look so easy. Whether it’s a pro musician, athlete, pilot, chef, nurse, etc. Very cool!
Wow-a joy to watch so many world class musicians in one place-brilliant
Tim, that was simply amazing. That was just another league of musicianship.
Now I know what professional looks and sounds like. Totally relaxed.
It's so fun seeing Megan and Rebecca (Larkin Poe) on this stage. Met them for the first time waaay back in the day when they toured with their older sister. I think Rebecca was just 18, if that. Met them a few times since then and they're always nice and and put on an amazing show with some great songs. Great to see these talented sisters doing so well.
Looks like you had fun too, Tim! What a great place to be, playing with other amazing professionals!
This was incredible to see. Thanks for the behind the scenes, Tim!
This is amazing Tim!! Love the behind the scenes 🔥🔥🔥
Wow. There's a lot going on there.
I actually played the guitar on that Kirk Franklin song at our church, Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield, MO., modulations and everything. It's a beast. Fun hearing you gents doing it.
Amazing thanks for the comment!
Dean Parks on a Squier (17:00). Perfect! Goes to show professionals don't have to be snobs about their gear! Thanks for this video. Most enjoyable anything about the Grammy's.
I hate the Grammys that everyone sees not what you’re showing us. That was absolutely fantastic ❤❤❤ that Luther Vandross songs is one of my favorites of all time
You and Dean are FANTASTIC guitarists! Wow, blows my mind how effortless you make it look too! INCREDIBLE
You cats make it look so easy. But of course it's not it takes years of professionalism and discipline to be called for this kind of work. Thanks so much Tim you
truly are an inspiration for so many of us.
Truely a mind boggling gig. It all looks so effortless for the audience, but this insider looks shows it is everything but that.
I was also thinking how cool this amazing music gig is about honoring musicians work.
Thank you for that. Tim you are the consummate professional. See all your practice paid off.
Thanks for going into detail and giving us some background on what all Cheche Alara did for this to come off. What a task! 😳
Nothing like Tim reminding me that I have a long way to go with guitar playing and musicianship!
Love these behind the scenes shows! Cheers Tim!!
Hey, thanks so much
Fantastic Tim, thanks for sharing
So nice to see the Revstar getting its due. A great working instrument and excellent value. Also amazing to see Dean using a SQUIER at the grammy's - massive kudos to the team in developing instruments at a price point that just work so well.
