God willing, I’ll be sober 8 years next March. In the beginning, I pulled up Anthony Hopkins talking at AA meetings, to supplement my regular AA meetings. I also loved to listen to Craig Ferguson talk about his sobriety, the brutal honesty, the ownership, and the accountability. It has hopefully helped me shape my journey to stay sober. Just want to thank these two gents for their honesty concerning their alcoholism. They’ve no doubt helped more men and women than they could ever imagine. God bless them both.

Hopkins is a lovely man. He's took the time to sit down with my Mum and talked to her about drinking and its problems. She stopped for 6 months based on a 10 minute conversation. Great guy

Anthony Hopkins, It has been more ore less 40 odd years ago since I spend like 4 weeks in Wales as an exchange student (Lord and behold) I was 15 at the time being. I can still until this day, count to 10 in welsh! I'm so proud of that, Thank you for all the fantastic films you've been acting in.
I think he was just the most authentic and silly. I am from Glasgow too so I am very biased but he just has a naturalness about him and the show is the antithesis of your typical slick overwrought American production with ten writers coming up with one liners and puns. That is something very refreshing. Pity he doesn't drink because he is one guy I would love to have a drink with ( I don't drink but once a year myself, when I go home to the UK ).
I absolutely love hearing these two talk. Anthony has such a calming, almost ASMR-like voice and Craig has his wonderful Scottish brogue. I could listen to them both, together or separate, all day.
Now, this man has, besides being a phenominal actor, actually composed classical music and it was played before him by a symphonic orchestra. Quite extraordinary, to say it like Hopkins.

I'm watching this in 2021. Craig is an excellent talk show host. It's all about making the guests at ease and having a meandering chat like a pair of mates. There is no nastiness or making fun of the guests.

When Tony was starting out , he was in a marvelous TV series of War and Peace, I was reading the book at the time so I could follow all the characters which could be a little daunting . I fell in love with Natasha and named my cat after her. However Sir Anthony, was a superb Russian Aristocrat that was slightly dumb. Cant remember the name of his character, its been 50 years but he was great

And yes, as Jim, says he's one of the greatest living actors on stage or screen. His performance in Westworld is something else.
If you've never seen Remains of the Day, do so. You'll see what I consider the best acting performance by anyone ever. You'll see it especially when he goes out of the house. There's a very subtle unease you can sense in him being out of his element. You really feel the character of Stevens is a real person... a very real person.
Not really having known about him aside from the movies, I was quite surprised by how down-to-earth and funny Hopkins is. He really seemed to enjoy his visits.
As for being a fellow scot I have to say that I admire craigs charm, wit and charasma and tony hopkings is just a phenomenal actor he is up there with Brando, Hoffman, Nicholson, Oldman and Day Lewis.

I watched Larry King interview him years ago, and he said the Remains of the Day was his favorite movie he'd done. Also said Jodie Foster was his favorite actress to work with. Said he took a part in one of the Mission Impossible movies that was set in Australia, without reading the script, just because he wanted to take a free vacation to "down under" for a while. ha ha
Agreed. The outro was offensive, and completely out-of-character for the goals of the show. The individual immediately alienated the majority of the audience, then helplessly floundered. Instantly evaluating the disaster, the two gentlemen offered their chivalry. Hat-tip, lads, Bravo!

I watched Larry King interview him years ago, and he said the Remains of the Day was his favorite movie he'd done. Also said Jodie Foster was his favorite actress to work with. Said he took a part in one of the Mission Impossible movies that was set in Australia, without reading the script, just because he wanted to take a free vacation to "down under" for a while. ha ha
