I've always thought the most beautiful ones were from the early 19th century. The three sister ships of the White Star Line (Olympic, Titanic, and Britannic) are ones I've always loved the designs of.
Very interesting design, but I have some concerns about it. 1. How will this ship be maneuvered in a harbor? I don't see many places a tug could hook on to. 2. The sails will limit the number of ports the ship can visit because of bridges. 3. Only 4 lifeboats? Those things better be able to hold huge amounts of people, otherwise its Titanic all over again. 4. I don't like the idea of a multi-hull cruise ship. If the ship gets hit by a big enough wave, the sections connecting the hulls could break.
This will sure come in handy in a "Waterworld" situation, provided that it will also be equipped with cannons and machine guns for fighting off post-apocalyptic pirates.
Id love to see some supporting documentation from the designers - a Bermuda rig that big is going to have some really interesting sail control challenges.
@lauriemama Its meant as a vessel to be environmentally friendly if you failed to notice, multi hull design means less resistance in the water, Meaning less engine power needed to get the vessel moving.. The sails are a way of capturing wind energy and it doesn't have to go under all bridges, More then a few port locations around the world that have no bridges impeding such a vessel, In any case they can unload/load passengers offshore somewhat.
@jdrubay14 The sails are computer controled and would furl in if the winds picked up. They might keep one or two part way out (storm configuation) to maintain stablity.
Very good design. What most people don't know it that this trimaran hull and sail configuration will help make this ship more stable (in roll) than other ships in the industry. Currently ships use a combination of gyros and stabilizers to counteract roll. LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) is the maritime fuel of the future that is already in use in cargo ships. NG in its liquid state is very safe. If you fill a cup of LNG, you could dip a lit cigaret into the cup and it would go out. LNG converter
@MattRowland95 Actually the ship is more stable than currently ships in service. You see those little out rigger floats on the side of the ship. That's what keeps it upwright. Many racing sailboats use this when racing around the world. The sails can be retracted when the winds pick up.
The reason why would be to show passengers the safety of the ship itself, its stability and to prove the technology in its designs helps to ride out such storms and waves.
Innovative idea concept and design. I hope to see several of these ships floating our seas in my lifetime. Everything from passenger cruisers to commercial tankers and container haulers. We all need to do what we can to be responsible with our environment. And as the they said in the video, all life originates from the oceans. If life in the oceans die, we die with it.
@DJDRecc You know these vessels. How about Sedov or Kruzernstern? The other still sailing ship or the era of great grain races from Austraralia to Europe. Do you know where Moshulu is now or Pommern?
este es el nuevo crucero mas grande del mundo aproximo 2015 es un barco muy moderno con un nuevo diseño increíble es una ciudad futura muy admirable este es mi comentario Que Dios les de la vida con toda las ideas muy Excelente
Awesome. Sails can combine as solar panels, now that flexible ultra thin solar cells are being developed. The power from these vast flexible panels can be used to provide electricity to the ship and also provide auxiliary power to the ship's motors, reducing power consumption even further.
LNG converter to its gas state will expand 600 times it's liquid state. This is a very good low pressure method of storing NG. Oh and the cost of LNG is already becoming cheaper than diesel and other bunker fuels.
@captainjack63 Its still 40% less energy by volume then diesel (as a pose to 75% less in its gaseous form). I'm not disagreeing with you just pointing it out. Realistically the additional space required for fuel storage is a mute point for trains and ships by and large. Though the weigh is the big limiting factor for converting planes to LNG. The tanks are fairly substantial by necessity.
I remember watching this so many times as a kid 😂 still waiting on it!
That voice sounds like an evil fictional corporation spokesperson.
The type that gets the entire public on board (no pun intended heheheh), and then you're the one guy that knows that they have evil intent?
Ikr???
2019 going 2020 and nothing yet...

Not really, trimarans are some of the strongest ships. Search up “Ady Gil Ship”
they can triple the efficiency if they put wint turbine and solar pannel on sail
Four lifeboats would be a bad idea. Say if the ship had to quickly evacuate, having a huge Que wouldn't help.
Will not be going under too many bridges.
Can I fart now to harness the energy?!!!
I think I'm in love.
This gets you no closer to the ocean than being on the tenth floor of a seaside resort hotel.
I love how we went from paddles, to sails, to steam engines, to petroleum engines, to nuclear propulsion, and now back to sails.
It's 2015 and we have none of this.
3 years in the future in the year of 2018 this will still not happen
2017.NONE OF THIS
2020 it's here
2021 September 22nd
Still no futuristic ships
The Cunard Line still runs beautiful luxury liners that are a throwback to the glory days of cruisinig.
i am so glad an engineer and expert has weighed in.
This looks so cool!
Awesome!! Can't wait
this gets you no closer to the ocean than being on the 5th floor of a beach resort.
I like this ship design and energy efficiency and no need to use diesel power. I like to ride this ship when its out to the world. :)
With only 4 lifeboats and only one outdoor space?...have fun :P
A great futuristic cruise ship indeed, where rightly GREEN is ultimate word! This is the future too in metro cities.
i like the way its greener
Don't care how many people say its ugly it looks pretty damn cool.

Amazing-I'll have a humble Pimms and Lemonade with Cucumber slices to sip away at whilst the ship cruise the seas away....
I was thinking that too. In rougher waters, that pool area would definitely not be safe.

That ship looks epic.
But admit it... When you'll first see this colossus in front of you, you'll go "oh ssshhhiiiiiittttttt" while slowly looking up!
this video is amazing and i love the video and i liked the boat
That lady's voice is putting me in the mood.
Never been on a cruise ship...but it looks impressive!
The wind propulsion part is possible, given that it is used on the Wind Surf, Wind Star, Wind Spirit, Wind Song(scuttled)
@Cizza225 More power in wind than curretnly in solar pannels. Also the sails are more cost effective over solar panels.
really good designs!
I think it looks awesome
Yes, that is what 'their' going to do. Wonderful summary.
These ships are really cool
In the future,we will met badass aliens man!
Simply Astounding, we went from Wind Power, to Steam Power, to diesel generators and finally back to wind power? We are progressing very well indeed.
This Is A Great Idea!!
@MattRowland95 Actually the ship is more stable than currently ships in service. You see those little out rigger floats on the side of the ship. That's what keeps it upwright. Many racing sailboats use this when racing around the world. The sails can be retracted when the winds pick up.
Looks like a sail yacht and a cruise liner had a collision.
@tupsumato Your're exactly right! Thanks for the chime in! ;-)
Oh my God amazing , replacing titanic !!!!
I love ittt!!!!!!
The sail cant make it move but it does make it look cool !!!!
"Re-bond with the vastness of the ocean where it all began". She actually just said that.
lol Titanic videos got me here!
WONDERFUL!!!
The reason why would be to show passengers the safety of the ship itself, its stability and to prove the technology in its designs helps to ride out such storms and waves.
those days are long gone my friend.
Looks dangerously top heavy
I like it
Need some more pools
i cant wait
Saving the earth is great. I think this design is a great idea.
Thats one massive ship.
thatd be an awesome job to work on this ship
Hi, That's great! What cruise liner will first have this new model cruise ship? What ship builder is it?
Ok captain we need more power,ok tell them cooks to bring out the hot chilley out,lol
i like the ship part it was awesome lol
it dont need to over moter power. it can help when on cruise speed. this way you can safe a lot of fuel.
This video made me feel good. Is there a title or titles for the music used?
Everybody gets all upset about new things and change but seriously people changes like this are good!!!!
Now a new part of youtube the How did i get here? part
Innovative idea concept and design. I hope to see several of these ships floating our seas in my lifetime. Everything from passenger cruisers to commercial tankers and container haulers. Amen on that. Couldn't have said it better myself.
thats sick
este es el nuevo crucero mas grande del mundo aproximo 2015 es un barco muy moderno con un nuevo diseño increíble es una ciudad futura muy admirable este es mi comentario Que Dios les de la vida con toda las ideas muy Excelente
FINALLY, a cruise ship that won't dump all it's garbage and sewage in the ocean!
awesome ship!
@EOverM It's more like ducting of a jet ski. No one has applied that to a ship before.
Amazing Design I hope to see this ship sometimes in 2015
And 2015 passed already and it didn't happen
For that we'll first need to develop solar sails... Solar panels are generally quite fragile chips and can't be made into bendy fabric like material.
amazing
yep. this is good. lets hope this will get done and have a future to protect our oceans.
I would spend all my life on board!...all on this ship:))
Damn good idea.
Be damned if I'd trust sails after seeing these things in storms - they'd be SHREDDED
Awesome. Sails can combine as solar panels, now that flexible ultra thin solar cells are being developed. The power from these vast flexible panels can be used to provide electricity to the ship and also provide auxiliary power to the ship's motors, reducing power consumption even further.
That boats' worst enemy would be bridges.
i was referring to the nuclear rod that has to get removed after it becomes depleted.
@ObeYoR Not really. Many ship yards are now practicing more eco friendly ship building. Its a money saver and also it's good PR.
LNG converter to its gas state will expand 600 times it's liquid state. This is a very good low pressure method of storing NG. Oh and the cost of LNG is already becoming cheaper than diesel and other bunker fuels.
its really nice
This ship can crush icebergs and pass above them. Its unsinkable. xD
Ducted propellers / kort nozzles are used on many ship,
they just loose their efficency at high speeds.
i wonder which port that ship is going to fit at...looks like a mini Continent moving
innovative propulsion system (pan into propellers)
we haven't seen those before
Great. The last thing we need is a ship taller than the Sydney Harbour Bridge, flags and all.
SUPER! and how did it goes under the bridge? :DDDD
This is awesome...!! But if It has alot of facilities, i thing it gonna be more intresting n memorable journey for us..!!
i really care about the nature, and this ship is a vonderful idea of eco positive tehnology. i like this, and this ship is beautiful :)
Maybe in the next couple of year there won't be an ocean to sail xD
so, it's a fancy sailboat with an onboard generator, all they had to say, haha
@captainjack63 Its still 40% less energy by volume then diesel (as a pose to 75% less in its gaseous form). I'm not disagreeing with you just pointing it out.
