    I had thought of that, except none of the water is being directed at the ship.
    And, how long do you think it will be before somebody decides that locomotive horns are not loud enough, and mounts a set of ships horns on his automobile?

    Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas are sister ships. They are both tied for #1 as the largest cruise ships in the world. They beat the Norwegian Epic ( the next largest ship) by 45%. [by tonnage] and are 60% wider than Norwegian Epic. If you see Oasis or Allure at port, it's the difference in width that is most notable. The entire interior / middle section of the ship is open inside with parks, shops, etc. ( The pools start at level 15)

  • @Arabhacks
    @Arabhacks 13 років тому

    Take one close look at this ship and ask yourself one question, how top-heavy is it?
    Just one good wave and it would capsize.
    And, what is it with the tugs spraying water in the air? at one time it did look impressive, but in this case it looks like someone with a garden hose, the ship is just so large.

    Modern vessels like this one have massive bow thrusters and steerable Azipod propellors meaning it can turn virtually in its own length, add to that radar, sonar, weather radar and satelite guidance, and you have a much safer vessel than the builders of the Titanic could have ever imagined, and it doesnt matter how tall it looks its all about the center of gravity, it could be 500ft out of the water as long as most of the weight is below sealevel.!

    @Ticket4Me I have no info in that matter but it might be true, STX Finland Cruise Oy, is a South Korean shipbuilding company, they own 3 shipyards in Finland. So yes, could have been build by Estonian hands just as well i supose. But still they put in Wärtsilä engines wich if my memory serves me right is Finnish in the core.

    I think they had to remove the tall chimneys to be able to sail under a bridge in Denmark. Can be found on UA-cam. If Denmark didn't exist they could have sailed straight to the Atlantic and we'd have a proper tide in the Baltic Sea as well.

    Oasis of the Seas and her sister ship take the record of world's largest passenger ships away from the Freedom-class ships, also owned by Royal Caribbean. They are 5 times the size of the Titanic and 3 times the size of the Queen Elizabeth 2. It has also been stated that, were their insides hollow, they could house the Hindenburg inside them.

    Its taxpayer money, its not really my decision. I'd rather keep it, but if it brings more money to me then its better than some useless public works project.
