I saw KISS in 1978. My first concert and I’ve never forgotten how my little
8 year old eyeballs were blurry from how loud Gene’s bass was. I’ve never forgotten that. I had a COOL much older brother who took me. I now play music for a living as a touring musician.

@@johnpearson7727Sometimes it pays to have a clue what you're talking about before you open your mouth or start typing. There's no "Ace conspiracy theory" going on here. A lot of these old 70s concerts only exist because some of the venues like the Summit here or the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, Capital Centre in Landover/Largo, Winterland in San Francisco etc filmed them in house for their screens, skyboxes etc. They weren't filmed for or by Kiss and there was no director saying "cut to the lead guitarist" or "zoom in on the drummer". The guys filming this would have been there the next night filming a ball game or the next band that was playing. Rather than run up another Paul & Gene shitting on Ace & Peter pile of crap, just be grateful this stuff exists at all.

This was amazing, and thank you for sharing it! I only wish they would have filmed more of Peter, but I'm glad we could see him at the end. KISS rules!

For the rock fans of that day, their music was straight up rock and roll, and it moved you. But KISS took it to a whole other level with their stage show. For those who wanted the best, you got the best! Back then, no one brought more show that KISS. They certainly were the hottest band in the world!

I've never been a big Kiss fan. Actually saw them by accident on their first tour opening for Blue Oyster Cult. Had no idea who they were. My friend & I were tripping on mescaline & when they came on we were both like "what in the fuck is this shit!" lol. They were fun though & this recording actually shows how tight & good they could play. I like it.

OMG I was at this Houston show! First concert for me and my buddy. We were 16. Thank you so much for posting this. UA-cam is a wonder. I've seen a hundred concerts since then, but I often think of my first KISS and what an amazing thing it was. The Houston Summit had large screens at each end of the venue, which was a technical marvel at the time. This was the live feed from that show. I've often wondered if it and other rock concert footage from the Summit was saved, who may have it, and if there was sound attached to it. Thanks again. Wow!

You were at THIS SHOW, holy fuck, to see KISS in 1974-1979 would have been fucking amazing!!! They were my 1st concert at 8 Years Old but I didnt see them until CRAZY NIGHTS Tour with ANTHRAX (Among The Living Tour) on March.11.1988 in Vancouver BC Canada. I would have LOVED to see KISS in 1970s

They never show enough Ace in these concert videos. Ace was and always will be the best member of Kiss in my opinion. He’s the heartbeat of the band, without Ace you wouldn’t have had what we know as Kiss as much as Paul & Gene want to act like they’re the end all be all. Ace is the best. Peter is underrated too and written off by Paul & Gene. It’s to be expected though, Paul & Gene are literally of the same tribe.

Did you catch that sour note at 3:20 and the turn around look by Ace at Paul? They just rolled with it. I saw them 3 times in the 70's and it was a SHOW!
