Going to Chicago May 1 to see them at Rosemont theater Illinois and then going to Kalamazoo Michigan to see them at the event events wing center. Oh yeah baby Judas Priest forever flying in from California you got that right?
This is one of the best live priest I've ever seen. Wow, top shape vocals, tight as hell bass and beat and rocking guitars...Priest at their prime! Thanks for sharing! 1: Heading out to the highway 2: Metal Gods 3: Breaking the law 4: You've got another thing coming 5: Hell bent for leather 6: Diamonds and rust 7: Victim of changes
This band is the fondation of heavy metal as we know it today. Yeah, the lead singer is gay but no one cares because he kicks ass and doesn't shove his sexuality in anyones face! Who fucking cares ??!!
See children? They are really able to play the music live what they recorded on their albums! Nothing too fancy, just pure and awesome heavy metal! They are the real musicians, not the ones you are worshiping so badly these days... And no, I'm not an old fella, just someone, who love real music...
earlier today i watched a video of priest 2014 victim of changes,... the quality sucked, but if you listen, you can still hear rob hitting some of those notes!!....throw bieber in a mosh pit!!
Warren552011 Thanks! And yes, I was not meant Judas Priest used autotune. They are just talented musicians, thats what they did/do for a living. These days, no matter if you have no talent, but you have protection, you can become a wealthy man. But it is just because of the stupidity of people, that helps these musicians.
So glad I was going to concerts back then. Besides all the scrappy 80s music, we had the best Heavy Metal concerts...Maiden, Priest, Saxon, Metallica , Ozzy, Dio,Motoelrhead all in their prime...Best time to be alive
I was 17 years old when this was shot and I was hanging onto the rail at the front of the stage. The day was a total roaster...with the only shade on that field being at the front of the stage (under the lighting gantry) or in the shadow of the control booth off in the distance. The air hung heavy with the smell of dust, heat, suntan oil and pot. I had forgotten just how good some of the bands that played this show sounded live...and how vivid everything was. We all knew that Rob was gay back then, even though he wasn't "out". It didn't matter. He kicked ass then and kicks ass now. Thanks for posting this! It's an awesome memory that came flooding back in while watching it!
anybody else go this show? what a day, huh? god, i miss those many great rock shows at irvine meadows, the forum, long beach, etc...life was good in so cal back in the day for rock concerts...from 1982 thru 1995 i must have gone to 100+ shows!
This was recorded in 1983.! I believe that I was there? I can't find out if it was recorded in the San Bernardino mountains?? It sure looks like it! It was the US festival in 1983. Called Woodstock West! I was there!!!! 3 days! I just can't remember if the Priest was there? And, this video Rocks Metal!!!! The Priests Rocks!!!!!!👍♥️🎼✌️😀🎉.......
Yeah, So. Cal Ricked and Rolled in those years!!!! I lived there from 78-86... I tell folks it wasn't somewhere I lived in my life ,.jt was a lifetime!!!!! Southern California Ricked in thise days!!! I miss it often 🎉😮😢😂😂😂 memories....
Yeah USCI...I saw a couple shiws there. Early eightues...INLY time I took a Limo to a show. Fiur if us ...Don Henley and Santana I believe??? But yeah the Meadows...great place to see an outdoor show!!!!👍✌️♥️🎼🎶🎶🤗😊🎉
I was there on this Sunday only. Lived in Highland CA at the time. About 13 miles away from Devore, where this all happened. I was 19 years old, They opened with Hellion / Electric eye and then right into riding on the wind and Heading out to the Highway so this isn’t exactly the full set. But thanks for posting . Order of appearance was Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy(first show with Jake) Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions and Van Halen. 20 bucks per ticket. Still have two T-shirts and my ticket stub. They eventually built a concert venue on the same spot that opened under the name Blockbuster Pavilion (as in the video rental store) I saw many shows there including Ozzfests, one with Ozzy and another with Sabbath until I left CA in 2005. Good times.
Grew up in Chicago started seeing Judas Priest in 1976 sad wings of Destiny tour all the way through now currently I live in the city of Angels beautiful California going to see them in Chicago on May 1 at the Rosemont theater, invincible shield tour and going to Kalamazoo Michigan on May 4 to see them as well. Long live Judas Priest, my friend. Oh yeah, the worlds greatest metal band ever yes oh yeah.

Judas Priest always sound great live. I've seen them over the last four decades and they don't disappoint. Was at this show too and man was it hot that Memorial Day weekend over thirty years ago.

4☆20☆2024. Just excellence in synchronicity. Better live than the recorded versións. Dave Holland beating on the drums, K.K. and Glenn in unison and Rob Halford prowling on the stage hitting every note on cue and in tone. 4☆20☆2024
Damn! That's an amazing concert lineup. The only thing that would have made it better for me would have been seeing Iron Maiden when Paul Di'anno was in his prime. Bruce did some truly amazing stuff and the band was more commercially successful during his tenure, but I still prefer Paul.
Bill Mason I love many of their songs during Paul's days as front man, but I have to say that Bruce is a better singer IMO. There was a live album--Live Killers, I think--that was just awesome!
Sigh Co. Bassist I can totally respect opinions on both sides of the coin regarding Iron Maiden front men. My preference for Paul has a lot to do with the punk element the band had during his tenure. I liked the rougher edge he brought to their music and presentation. Both were great front men though, and Bruce has aged much more gracefully.
I saw JP in Vancouver 1979, Seattle 1981 and Toronto in October 1982. Absolute heavy metal brilliance, they and Van Halen were the two best bands in the world in the early '80's. Yes that's Dave Holland on drums here.
He's fking Rob Halford for fux sake. Age six yet inevitable, for all ov us. As long as he continues to grace every stage on Earth, he gives his all against all adversity. Give him your respect.
I saw these dudes back then on their Screaming tour and it was one of the top 3 loudest and clear concerts I've been to in my life.AC-DC is another one along with Pink Floyd. The bass was just shakin your body and every hit of the bass drum felt like you were getting smacked, it was fantastic. My ears rang for a whole day after that.
This is the most insane shit I've ever read. Literally any of his contemporaries are better. This is such mediocre metal that does not stand the test of time.
He's one of the top five for sure, but greatest? Come on. You didn't hear Dio or Bruce Dickinson not staying in tune. Halford misses the note multiple times during one song.
I was at this concert at Glen Helen park in San Berdo.... Priest was incredible, but I thought the Scorpions absolutely killed it. That being said, was the best Cali concert I had ever seen... and I saw Deep Purple on their Perfect Stranger Reunion tour in Long Beach...
1. Heading Out To The Highway 2. Metal Gods 3. Breaking The Law 4. You've Got Another Thing Comin' 5. Hell Bent For Leather 6. Diamonds And Rust 7. Victim of changes this is metal perfection.. down the hats to Metal Gods!!!
This not the full show. The complete setlist is this: The Hellion Electric Eye Riding on the Wind Heading Out to the Highway Metal Gods Breaking the Law Diamonds & Rust (Joan Baez cover) Victim of Changes Living After Midnight The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown) (Fleetwood Mac cover) Screaming for Vengeance You've Got Another Thing Comin' Hell Bent for Leather
Niesamowity koncert rok 83 jeszcze mnie na świecie nie było. Ależ to były czasy jak dla mnie na dzisiejsze standardy to jest Kosmos tak kosmos i nie widzę tego inaczej😊
They should've played later in the day, with the Scorpions. Moved VanHalen out of the headliner spot, made Judas Priest and The Scorpions closing acts. Now, it's hotter than hell, the sun is in the eyes of the crowd. Good time for the VanHalen clown show. Let the bands that came to play on the highest level have the better night spots!
I agree, VH was wasted by the time they finally hit the stage and people were filing out in a hurry. The Scorps, Priest and Triumph all blew Van Halen away.
marshjvm I saw VH in my hometown, David Lee Roth only sang 1/2 the lyrics & not always in synch with the music. That's why I will always give credit to bands that put effort into their live show. Queen at Live Aid, another band that showed up to deliver!
Amazing quality for a video from over 30 years ago. This band just rocked it hard, would love to have a time machine and go to this show :) Because you can't see anything like this ion 2015 anymore.
Sounds and musicians from late 60's through mid 80's will never be outdone. So much talent on the road full time - man did they ever learn their chops! And the cream just kept rising. Keep trying youngsters the bar has been set VERY high!
Judas Priest is a real classic heavy metal band, I fucking love these guys! Never getting tired of listening to good old JP! Rob is a Metal God, and will always be! When im watching these live sets, I want so badly to invent a time machine to go back in time just to see these magnificent rockers to do what they love most: TO ROCK THE WORLD!
At least back than, he was moving around and he actually had one of the best stage presence. Now days, he is just walking around the stage bending over, looking for quarters.
Yo that was hysterical at .54, he was spinning, lol i always liked priest, even when i found out about halford, i mean it is his business, but i was disappointed.
Damn does he look different from back then. I know people age but holy shit he doesn't look like himself whatsoever except the eyes. All he does now is sing into the mic with his head down with shades on and a cane. I saw him on golden gods awards and almost cried. Here he is into it and looking at his fans, smiling and loving life. I miss the old Rob :( Still bad ass. Rock on dude.
Yeah, I get the feeling that he's more interested in focusing on the lyrics and his singing, instead of the audience and the rest of the band. He still kicks ass tho.
si no lo sabes cantar con la cabeza abajo aprieta sus pulmones dándole mas potencia a la vos muchos usan esa técnica para cantar sin ánimos de ofender saludos
Eduardo Cassiano Rob's voice is shot. He admitted it during the end of Halford Resurrection Tour, on his site that he no longer can do much of the JP work without a growl. There is no vibratto and soul left in his voice, today. Time to retire. He sounds terrible here because of drugs and heavy drinking during the US Festival.
I'll take an older Halford with half his old range and Priest with Ritchie over any young scruffy lookin' act "in their prime" anytime and gladly throw my money at them! The charisma and stage presence this band has never ages. This is why they are so respected by their peers. I hope they never quit.
I was lucky enough to be at this event. The two bands with dual guitarists sounded tons better than the single guitar guys. Priest and Scorpions were the best on that day, with Triumph a close third.
Drew Grow Your memory is almost identical to mine. I was at this show, and I remember it being hot, crowded and very awesome! I didn't get home until 5:30am the next day...
This is actually great quality for 1983
Good point!
MASTERUDY Castillo You sure? Looks more like the better broadcast TV analog cameras of the period to me. I don't notice any film grain at all. But that's just nit picking.

all these men that hate on this band because Rob is gay .. are in the Closet !! Who cares about the sexual choice of anyone that Rocks like Priest!!!!! or anyone else .......
+Warren552011. Yeah most of the metal bands in the 80s wore tons of leather and spikes as did the fans.
Warren552011 Rob is awesome. That's all.

No one is anywhere near the quality of Priest.

Это величайшая группа всех времен!
ALL BOW TO JUDAS PRIEST THEN AND NOW.
If you have a problem with it then why in the fuck would you #1 the comment Al or whatever the hell your name is???

Mmmmmm!
It was an awesome concert for sure Funk!!
Greatest singer in metal history
THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS, HALFORD IS THE BEST SINGER PERIOD.
Tim "the ripper" Owen is far away better.
@MikkoVille true but to be fair, you don't go to a concert to see them play perfectly lol
press 3 over and over.
9 is even better !
***** cmon, man. better than halford doing a face? haha
marfa
jesus, i had no idea you could even do that. thanks, mate.
thanks for the tip. found that if you hit the other numbers, they are percentages of the video (i.e. 4 = 40%). Zero starts it over.
So damn good.
That was back in my good days, brings fond memories!
You've been blessed!!!
kilmister1970 thank you, I truly have
Priest's sound and performance is so good it's almost like a music video. Superb band.
SO glad they grabbed Scott Travis from Racer X !!!! Judas got better & better as time rolled on.
Just appreciate Judas Priest as one of the best /masters of heavy metal and not discussing any members private life outside music.
I remember living with these guys. Next door we were neighbors. ❤Judas priest 2:58
1. Heading Out To The Highway
2. Metal Gods
3. Breaking The Law
4. You've Got Another Thing Comin'
5. Hell Bent For Leather
6. Diamonds And Rust
7. Victim of changes
this is metal perfection.. down the hats to Metal Gods!!!
This is not the Alpine Valley, Wisconsin, this is San Bernideno, California I was there!
My 1st Priest Show was in 1984, Dortmund, Germanym I was 20....after 40 years I still go and see them😊
23:00 when the motorcycle comes out is the best. Awesome gig, Priest at their best.
This not the full show. The complete setlist is this:
The Hellion
Electric Eye
Riding on the Wind
Heading Out to the Highway
Metal Gods
Breaking the Law
Diamonds & Rust
(Joan Baez cover)
Victim of Changes
Living After Midnight
The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)
(Fleetwood Mac cover)
Screaming for Vengeance
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Hell Bent for Leather
That intro on Victim Of Changes to this day still gives me goose bumps !
Devore heat, wading through wasted high stream of cool water, fighting our way to the front. worth every moment in forgotten time. Priest!
Niesamowity koncert rok 83 jeszcze mnie na świecie nie było. Ależ to były czasy jak dla mnie na dzisiejsze standardy to jest Kosmos tak kosmos i nie widzę tego inaczej😊
Espetacular Halford é o melhor vocal do Heavy Metal junto c Ronnie James Dio !
Very Nice Judas Priest Forever!!
I would love to have a band like this!!
Cool. I was at this concert festival. I was in the Marines at the time. I also went to the 82, US festival. From Sioux City,Ia.
Probably the best year for rock IMO.
18 and was loving it.
Absolutely! Give VH their million and put em' on during the day.
AC DC woulda been a better headliner
I agree, VH was wasted by the time they finally hit the stage and people were filing out in a hurry. The Scorps, Priest and Triumph all blew Van Halen away.
marshjvm I saw VH in my hometown, David Lee Roth only sang 1/2 the lyrics & not always in synch with the music. That's why I will always give credit to bands that put effort into their live show. Queen at Live Aid, another band that showed up to deliver!
What a crowd. They filled up the whole valley. Great performance. The high water mark of heavy metal.
YOU KIDDING ME FRICKIN PRIEST, US LIVE! WHAT A BAND WHAT A VOICE. ALL THUMBS UP. THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES! METAL LIVES ON....
Amazing quality for a video from over 30 years ago. This band just rocked it hard, would love to have a time machine and go to this show :) Because you can't see anything like this ion 2015 anymore.
I was there.
It was one hell of a party!!
The Best❤❤ best live petformance ever.. Halford is on Fire, those guitars, that bassist doesn't stop, the drums OUTSTANDING! Metal God's...
that STAGE!!!
I was there at The "US" Festival '83 on Heavy Metal Sunday 32 years ago :) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
MrMegaFredZeppelin Damn it! I was sperm back then! I gota travel back in time to 1967 and tell my dad to get to work.
MrMegaFredZeppelin I was there too! I just turned 21! Best concert ever!
Woah...just came from the Crue performance on that day to this video...
Its like night and day, Priest were already so matured
Oh man, you nailed it with that comment!
DukeDolman for me ,never
Sounds and musicians from late 60's through mid 80's will never be outdone. So much talent on the road full time - man did they ever learn their chops! And the cream just kept rising. Keep trying youngsters the bar has been set VERY high!
I saw them many times in the 80's. They kicked ass
Metal Mania...
Agreed
FOR ROCKERS ONLY
GLAD I CAN SHARE
WHO SAY THAT
1983 first drumset, I learned this album and JP was my first concert... Memories
What kind of dance move is this? 00:54
***** lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jajajaja! He did very gay movements during this concert jajajaja!
Piero Mcbrain LOL! 00:54 repeat repeat repeat..... etc.... LOL!!!!
At least back than, he was moving around and he actually had one of the best stage presence. Now days, he is just walking around the stage bending over, looking for quarters.
Yo that was hysterical at .54, he was spinning, lol
i always liked priest, even when i found out about halford, i mean it is his business, but i was disappointed.
Judas priest seen them 5 times. My band is the priest
Bob Halford was absolutely awesome!! Love that dude
Killer video! Excellent quality!
Wow that is A LOT of people!!
In contrast, he maintained his voice, that saying if it didn't get better. the guy can sing.
si no lo sabes cantar con la cabeza abajo aprieta sus pulmones dándole mas potencia a la vos muchos usan esa técnica para cantar sin ánimos de ofender saludos
Eduardo Cassiano
Rob's voice is shot.
THOSE DAYS of JUDAS PRIEST ARE INSANE ,,, ROB ..HIGH ...THE GUITAR PLAYERS ARE IN A DIVINE METAL SOUND
the ZOOT Channel LOVES IT
they have such a killer fucking sound those guitar and bass are perfect.man this is awesome
I was lucky enough to be at this event. The two bands with dual guitarists sounded tons better than the single guitar guys. Priest and Scorpions were the best on that day, with Triumph a close third.
wow! thanks for that. Priest looks like they owned the Festival. Lucky you!
This is not the full concert. Where is screaming for vengeance?
Electric Eye is missing as well.
Hello Rob! I am from Russia and I playing jn guitar / Now I m playing in POLYKLINIKA it s treshmetall from Moscow
JUDAS PRIEST IT S CLASSIC
Padreblue11 true.
then you must have been high as fuck.
priest is in my top 5 of all time bands.many groups are pretty unequaled, and this band is one of them.
Drew Grow Your memory is almost identical to mine. I was at this show, and I remember it being hot, crowded and very awesome! I didn't get home until 5:30am the next day...
Geniales Konzert, ich bin happy! Danke fürs Hochladen.
Thank You for sharing ❤
