    Something that I have done on my installations, with a similar bracket, is to flip the rear mounting bracket 'upside down'. Turning the whole rear side of the bracket upside down better aligns the the grove on the uptube and gives the mounting much better stability and seating. If you have the frame room, which it looks like you did during this build, having the rear side mounting bracket turned upside down, and moving the base plate as far forward as possible, will allow of the rear mount to form a V with the down tube, allowing the mounting plate to sit on the end of rear mount.
    I have my bikes set up so that I can remove the entire engine, and attachment plate, off the bike by removing the 4 side hex bolts. The alignment is almost perfect, with having the rear mounting bracket flipped over, allowing quick removal/replacement of the 4 bolts to re secure the engine. Also makes it easier to install the entire mounting hardware, since you can set the bracket without having the engine already on the mounting plate, and pull just the plate off to mount the engine. Makes it so much easier to do maintenance on the engine with just pulling the mounting plate off each time, instead of having to pull the entire assembly.
    Also, to help reduce a little more vibration, try seating some rubber grommets in the top mounting plate. I've found a few that will fit into the track that you can attached the base of the motor to, that reduce a little extra vibration, by not having the metal on metal, but it does eat up a few millimeters on how far you can shift the motor right/left, for chain alignment.
    Keep up the great videos. I'm looking at putting up a few of my own towards the first of the year. Looking at putting together a Slugo Fat Bike installation in the next few weeks.

      +Drashk Dza'lya Thank you very much for watching and for the tips Drashk! I've thought about flipping the one bracket over to accommodate the angle a little better but then the bolts that hold the engine to the bracket interfere. I would either have to do some modification to the bracket to clear the bolts, or raise the engine up higher so the bracket would be spread wider leaving the mounting bolts accessible and no where near the brackets. However I don't have the tools or machines to fabricate and I would prefer my engine lower for better lower center of gravity and more centered within the frame.
      The rubber mounts for the engine are a great idea and also something I have considered before, just never followed through with yet.
      Thank you again very much for the ideas and for watching! Feel free to post some pics and description of your build on the SCC Facebook page at
      Facebook.com/sccmn.
      Have yourself a great holiday and I can't wait to see your videos and your bike build!

    Great vid. But may I recommend to just use blue permatex on all bolts. Blue will take some work to separate, but red needs heating or a permatex solvent.If you don't need heat then you di't use enough.

    Love this channel, Is it bad to put rubber between the mounts? I heard that it can put to much pressure on the mounting studs?

    • @sinistercustomcycles110
      @sinistercustomcycles110  7 років тому

      +LastGenGamer I've always kept it down to two layers and have never had a problem with it so far. One of my previous builds has about 3k on it with the same rubber mounts and still going strong. If you were to add too many layers then you would probably run in to issues with it. Thanks for the comment and watching! Have a wonderful holiday!

    Great vid bud.The engine that you installed in this video,does it vibrate alot as the more gas you give it versus the traditional 80cc 2-stroke engines?

    • @kxlucifer
      @kxlucifer 7 років тому +1

      William Santiago i can answer that since i habe exprienced in both it doesnt vibrate as much as a 2 stroke its more of a light buzz but thay varies by your mounting bracket like the one in this vedio it wont be a noticeable vibration.

    I thought most 4 stroke engines these days had an oil pressure sensor with an auto-shutoff...what happens when you go up and down hills? Also where did you get that engine and kit?

    • @kxlucifer
      @kxlucifer 5 років тому

      If you uses a motor with low oil pressure sensor its best to delete it because when the oil sloshes while your going up hill or turning the engine will think its low on oil and cut engine power .theyre designed for stationary application but could be use on bikes etc aslong as you delete the low oil sensor

    What would be a good bike to convert that is designed for very tall / big riders? The only real bikes I seem to find that fit that category are from Worksman but with the lower cross bar I have my doubts about an engine fitting in there.

    • @sinistercustomcycles110
      @sinistercustomcycles110  7 років тому

      +Lacider I'm not sure what your definition of very tall is lol, but the bikes I get are the extended frame versions which means the frames are about 2" longer than a standard frame which for me at 6' makes all the difference and is very comfortable. You could also possible do an extended frame with a layback seat post which would give you a couple more inches as well. Thanks for watching and have a fantastic holiday! I got a question what kind of motor mount is it cuz when I put my 4-stroke engine on my bike I have to use a flat plate on my bracket because it doesn't fit around the fat bar and I think the flat plate puts it back about another quarter inch toward the bar that's why my stuff is tight but your bracket look the same as mine but mine has four bolts on each side of the chain slide?

    This bike is almost perfect. It was very easy to assemble. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx2YFGCCEkXKgqCOH-7vlvgb4L4hg4IrXI The fit was great as well. I am 5'11" and 160 lbs with a longer torso and rather shorter legs, and 55cm is a perfect fit. Every component seems to be pretty decent and durable except the rear wheel. It was a bit lob-sided and also the freewheel component is either missing a ball bearing or under lubricated, which prevents the wheel from rotating freely. Because of that, it requires more pedaling and also climbing hills a lot harder than expected. Other than the back wheel, I like everything else about it. Affordable and well-built.** UPDATE **It turns out the sound was caused by the tight chain tension. Once I loosen it up by moving the backwheel a tad bit closer to the crankset, the sound went away.

    Personally..... I would have put down 4 rubber grommets in the holes on the base plate then the engine. .... (and then tighten the engine down onto the rubber grommets, that way you can dampen the vibration far better)

    • @gerardjones7881

      magneto puts out AC , lights on bikes are DC.
      Voltage would need to be regulated, dropped and rectified.
      just use a DC dynamo.
