The primary reduction drive is chain and is a 3-1 and is for the Pit and Pocket bikes on small wheels. Ideal is a 6-1 reduction like the T-belt ones. If you can fit a 56t rear sprocket, this should bring the ratio close to where it should be and ease the clutch and pedaling on hills. I have a 39cc OHV 4st engine outboard LHS by the rear wheel. it is a geared reduction of 6-1 and till have a 48t sprocket due to the engine size.
after I had my whole back wheel fall apart in the middle of a huge busy intersection I'll never use a rag joint sprocket again. I like the cnc sprockets that clamp on the hub. It's worth the extra $50

Electric kits $250. US, on ebay. Foldable solar panels, super cheap. If they made a better kit, you could get a electric front hub, electric rear hub. Could have 2/3/4 wheel drive bicycles, that charges itself while you ride.
Put a basket on the back of the bike, and mount the fuel tank inside the basket, to hide it. The fuel tank will be concealed by the things you put in the basket.
Mount the engine in the basket on the rear in the basket and use a 2 or 3 horse power briggs use screen for breathing holes and run exhaust out the bottom. Put fuel tank in front of handle bars.

The issue with a rear brake disc is the little amount of space you have available to actually put one in, if you DO however have enough space then you need a sprocket adapter for the rear wheel hub and then a disc brake adapter that can be bolted onto the sprocket itself
Is it really true that you have to pedal to get this bike going with this 4-stroke engine, or else you will burn out the centrifugal clutch? I’ve seen numerous videos where people don’t pedal at all with these on bikes.
You should be able to start from rest by just twisting the throttle without pedaling. Also it should be able to handle hills without pedaling as well. I can see what you are missing is the choke switch, which is the white plastic that you didn't touch at all, and is left at the closed position all the while, that's why you're not getting enough power. You are supposed to close it when cold-starting the engine, and then open when it's already running, where the bike can be operated like a regular scooter. With the choke operational and you still have the same issues, then your centrifugal clutch is faulty.
I just got done ripping around on my 4 stroke build and it does 40+ mph couldn’t get my crankshaft to work so I’m just motor power only and it runs my 290# self around just fine 😅

I’ve got one that will do 20 comfortably. Got a tach turns out that’s about 4500 ish rpm. I don’t like running it faster than that because it starts vibrating like a mf. I have a new rear sprocket coming thats way way smaller. A 28 tooth sprocket to be exact. So we’ll see how that goes.
Install a bigger rear sprocket to lower top speed. It will make the auto clutch functional and climb hills . Mine does 24mph. Drill and pop rivet tank brackets to frame. Same with chain tensioner.

Thought about buying on the install seemed to go smoothly. Guess it comes down to which bike is best for the kit. 4 stroke is probably best I mean straight gas right? no mixing with the oil or breaking it in?
What's the purpose of changing the front sprocket? And is it possible to leave your old sprockets on, disengage the clutch, and ride it like a normal bike if you run out of gas?
I got the same kit 3months ago…… works well hard to setup unfortunately I got my finger right in the chain and chopped 😅 my finger off and got surgery other than that be careful with it lots of fun 😂
super cool build. I'm a tinkerer and want to learn more about ICE. The ''death trap'' feel is likely from frame flex and that ''CHORK" Chinese front fork...super nasty build quality on that fork. Give some consideration to a SOLID steel high quality bike and transplant the engine.
I have a Chinese, stand up, gas scooter and the centrifugal clutch vibrates bad when taking off until it stops slipping. Maybe it's just the clutch slipping. Try taking off in a lower gear if you can.
Could it be flipped the other way so the exhaust is to the rear, and geared so the drive sprocket rotates in the correct direction, that way it could be driven using the derailleur with multiple sprockets for climbing hills etc. and not needing to pedal? Also wouldn’t need the chain tensioner?🤔
I guess all in all it’s impressive that out of the box it worked without major Fabricating of custom parts ! You should install a set of Handle bars turned upside down like they used to do on the old Race Motorbikes
The centrifugal clutch is Not where you show it in the transmission case, but at the engine itself, and by using a small rear sprocket, you have gotten the top speed high and the engine bogs down at lower RPM.Beginner.
yeah, found that out when I took the cover off. It's still in the case regardless. The point of the video was to use everything that the kit came with and see what it does. Maybe you missed it the point of the video

What would be the comparison kit to this in 2 stroke? 80cc? I have a few buddies with tricycles. So far 2 of them have used the 80cc bicycle kits from amazon. I would like to be different and give this a try. I just don’t want to be left behind😂. Wouldnt a 4 stroke like this be easier to repair and more upgradeable?
Harder to repair actually and you can find basic parts, no upgrades. But it is more reliable and with a #80 or #85 jet you can even be faster than you friends. And getting more mpg.
I would like to have you explore the cause of the clutch vibration issue. The other “farm” video did not seem to have as big of a problem with his engine.??. Covering the engine to ride “cloaked” is a good idea, so something light but not easily combustible is my vote. How about a thin sheet of tin or even that stuff plummers use to keep flooring and what not from burning when sweating copper joints? Just ideas of the top!
Maybe having a belt primary with a CVT style transmission would make for smoother operation through the rpm range. Might get you up the hills too! Last thing I want to do, is pedal a bike with a motor on it uphill.
Might be a little labor intensive but I was thinking of creating a custom faring to cover the motor by cutting up a plastic barrel or something similar. Possibly a used faring from a motorcycle salvage yard could be easier.
It looks great. I’ve got to admit that I did a double take looking at that muffler setup. It’s the very first time I’ve seen one pointing straight down. I wish the community would share what bike apps they’re using on their phones. I tried searching Apple, all I could find were exercising apps. Are apps under Apple made for just cycles in general?
I also dont like those clutches, you can get a go cart clutch off amazon for like $50-$70. They are belt driven and act like an automatic transmission. Ive heard they dramatically affect the torque and top end of a 4 stroke.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow They really should, some of them have to have a small part of it grinded off to fit. But a lot of them come with that part already missing.

I couldn't tell you for sure since I haven't owned mine that long but I've read pretty good things about these engines. However the setup will certainly need tinkering over time I'm sure. The chain system is not ideal

Definitely pretty amazing! But be careful. Pretty sketchy on a bicycle going that fast
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow will do! Gonna get all the necessary protection too
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow38 mph Downhill. Your thumbnail is just Clickbait ,let’s not get it twisted.
with a ross pedal crank free wheel you could put the sprocket on the pedal crank and have gears...
I got the same kit 3months ago…… works well hard to setup unfortunately I got my finger right in the chain and chopped 😅 my finger off and got surgery other than that be careful with it lots of fun 😂
Dayum!
You should get a sprocket hub adapter for it would be A lot easier
nine bolts could be a real pain
Yeah I was briefly looking into those. The bolts are definitely time consuming but it works good. Unless you have to swap outs brackets
Another awesome video! Now I know how a centrifical clutch works, thank you very much!
I saw some unusual bicycle fairing kits that might suit your purposes.
Ever consider 2x motors on a 3wheel or tadpole recumbent bicycle?
My cast iron mounting plates broke twice, I would recommend a different mount instead
Mount it on front handle bars
loving these videos. what a great channel.Always a new project going on. Think I'm addicted now. 👍🇮🇪🇺🇸
I have the same one with pad brakes like yours, but the braking isn't great when you're going at 30 km/h. do you have this problem?
super cool build. I'm a tinkerer and want to learn more about ICE. The ''death trap'' feel is likely from frame flex and that ''CHORK" Chinese front fork...super nasty build quality on that fork. Give some consideration to a SOLID steel high quality bike and transplant the engine.
Now I thinking about a 4 stoke..since I can't find that phantom 80 big bore kit
Quiet and reliable. The way to go in my opinion
I got mine up to 32 on a beach cruiser. The clutch is junk and my throttle broke so I got rid of it.
Yeah clutch is definitely junk
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow the chain drive clutch has these issues the springs like to break on these models try a belt drive
I guess all in all it’s impressive that out of the box it worked without major Fabricating of custom parts ! You should install a set of Handle bars turned upside down like they used to do on the old Race Motorbikes
no nonsense skid lid! Smart!
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow Maybe you missed the point that viewers are able to comment on the videos and that they are almost certainly going to express an opinion regarding the content of your project.
I wouldn't even call this a project. It's an Amazon bicycle engine kit that I slapped on a bicycle.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow Your non-project looks very much like a half million other 2-stroke rattlers/smokers and it is often entertaining to see how the next one gets built, about 98% just like the others. And once in awhile, someone gets a new idea and it gets even more interesting.
@@dehoedisc7247who hurt your little brain?
A jack shaft put the drive to the 5 speed shifter gives you low to high speed
Is it possible to hook it up so you can change gears like you can normally on a foot operated 10 speed or 12 speed ?
Maybe weld the casete and turn the wheel
Hello do you know why my pull start too hard and do 7 and 8 time
May need some carburetor tweaking
That little bit of oil ive been told is basically an ultra light storage a shipping oil not suitable for running basically thin assembly lube
I love it ,just something so fun about bicycles with little motors/engines 🤟🤠🙏💯 let the fun begin 😀
Use some stainless screen painted camo
That mill needs air to cool
Maybe having a belt primary with a CVT style transmission would make for smoother operation through the rpm range. Might get you up the hills too! Last thing I want to do, is pedal a bike with a motor on it uphill.
Do you know of one by chance? I’ve never seen one for the two stroke or 4 stroke kits but would be awesome.
@@kjohns1413 pretty sure they sell the 4 strokes with torque converters on ebay.
Might be a little labor intensive but I was thinking of creating a custom faring to cover the motor by cutting up a plastic barrel or something similar. Possibly a used faring from a motorcycle salvage yard could be easier.
That would be awesome!
Yeah they are definitely kind of junky. Is that a direct bolt on to this engine? I'll have to look in to one
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow They really should, some of them have to have a small part of it grinded off to fit. But a lot of them come with that part already missing.
Your speed and hill climb issues would change with different size wheels. Maybe that is obvious. How would that perform on a smaller bike?
Yeah for sure. Or could swap out the sprockets. But then I guess you would lose that nice top speed of 38 mph down a slight decline
I think it would do awesome on a smaller bike. As long as there's enough room to fit it in there
The link in the bio to the kit dosent go to the kit direcly, is there an exact link to it?????? it would help me alot becuse i am looking forward to buy one of these kits, and your video explained alot for me that dosent know anything about motors. HELP ME!!!!

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow Tysm!!!!
Bicycles and motorcycles have top speed roughly 31mph times the cube root of the horsepower, provided the gearing is such that top speed is at the RPM corresponding to peak hp. 1.4kW = 1.88hp and the cube root is 1.23. 31x1.23=38mph, so that works out.
i got same motor and 38 mph wow i can only get 30-32 mph. i removed the governor thing but didnt make a difference. how can i get this thing to do 38?
@@xthe_moonx you probably have a higher tooth rear sprocket which increases acceleration but reduces top speed
Can you still work the pedals? The left hand side looks like it protrudes all the out to the pedal.
Yeah I had no problems working the pedals. I suppose that's one of the big benefits of the smaller two-stroke engine kits though
Could a larger sprocket be put on the clutch? i think that might help
Im surprised that the exhaust didn't flow out the back..thats weird
Hey there. Great video, I have one that's already been built but it came without the pull start. Can I Start it without it and pedal. I've tried but it's not starting
Get a 50 tooth rear sprocket that will solve your vibration issue for the most part
I appreciate the recommendation. I kind of like the 38mph top speed right now though. I took the clutch drum off and it looks to be pretty warped. Going to try to correct that first and see how it goes
you hang saddlebags (from like a horse saddle) over the motor
Good idea!
Yes, exhaust and tank need to be moved to the back
Luggage rack, another saddle bag, incognito way to go
How’s the bike doing? Did you ever take apart that centrifugal clutch to see if it was ok?
You didn’t mention how many CC

I DIDN'T LEARN MUCH ,BUT NICE SHOW !
You looked like you were going downhill when you hit 38 mph what do you think the max would be on a flat road 30?
Yeah cruises around 30 32
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow not bad for under $200 but if you put a helmet on I'm never getting it. Is it the engine or the way you set it up or was the bike a pos?
I’m looking into buying one of these, I’m a welder fabricator so I’m not going to have any problems building the framework for it, but could a guy mount this above the rear tire as opposed to underneath the seat? I know the weight distribution will be weird, but other than that any foreseeable issues?
Levi Koeneman. Put it on the front wheel. Move the seat back for counter balance. With your skill the sky is the limit.
Hey bud I just got the kit and I got a old Schwinn it's a 70 series what I was wondering is it imperative to have the derailleur in the front because the guy that assembled it didn't seem to know what he's doing I'm ASE certified Chrysler mechanic so I know in a mechanics you know make another video or let me know where I can see the rest of your video it blew my rear bearings in my Schwinn because of the torque do you have any suggestions cuz you make videos I greatly appreciate it good job brother
omg i bought this 4 strok ekit, recieved it today, so happy, then i realise ive only got the engine! no other kit. just the engine. which looks all perfect.
Oh damn! Well if you got it from Amazon, luckily they're really good about customer service.

How do you change the oil in one of these? Do you just suck it out through the fill hole with the syringe? I've seen some models having a drain plug underneath the fill or near the clutch, mine hasn't got either.
If there's no drain plug on yours then yes just suck it out
That part where you yelled "Pretty quiet with no muffler"... hilarious! 🤣🤣
But true it was quiet
That bike frame has so much room for that motor good gosh lol
Seen a lot of other videos that the 4 stroke did 18mph idk about to 37 maybe 37kph lol
do these last? i had a 2 stroke kit and it kept braking and starting took alot of pedaling. would this last a year without major issues?
I couldn't tell you for sure since I haven't owned mine that long but I've read pretty good things about these engines. However the setup will certainly need tinkering over time I'm sure. The chain system is not ideal
3000km on mine... never missed a beat...
