Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993), also known simply as Zombies in PAL regions, is an overhead run-n-gun with a unique style and an unusual premise: instead of killing bosses per se, the protagonists need to save their hapless titular neighbors, referred to in the game simply as "victims", before classic horror movie monsters such as zombies and vampires get to them. Having all victims die to a monster attack incurs a game over, but saving at least one is enough to advance to the next stage.
There are ten victims in every stage (some have extras), and this TAS aims to save all of them-including one that normally isn't intended to be saved. Both playable characters are controlled simultaneously, and the levels are routed to minimize the score tallies. As usual, Speed Shoes drops are constantly manipulated so that every stage can be run through as quickly as possible.
This movie by Allbeert ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/A... ) beats the previous record ( tasvideos.org/339M ) for this branch by 16:15.97. We also have a single-player any% ( tasvideos.org/3196M ) that kills off all unnecessary victims ASAP to streamline the process and, thanks to that, cut the run time nearly in half. - Ігри

I was doing my own thing, and it was causing me a lot of stress, I got up to level 43, and then lost the file. almost every night I was worrying to myself, that I would never get it done, but now, although I'm disappointed I couldn't be the one to do it, Walker Boh's run was beaten by over ten minutes.

Don’t worry dude, I feel your pain,Zamn is infact a hard game and takes a long time to master. If something is stressing you out either take a break or quit. Do what you love doing as that will stress you out less
@@adventureboy7855 I have to disagree. Quitting is a terrible idea. Just because you love something and there is some stress doesn't mean it is bad for you. Overcoming an obstacle is an important life skill and so is grit and tenacity
This was absolutely fantastic. I also love the subtle ways that time is saved like making sure both characters collect five victims for faster post-level screens and killing as few enemies as possible. Overall incredible TAS.
This game was utter chaos. I don't know how people could play it without having an anxiety attack.
Finished this game with my brother three times on the SNES. It's a pleasure to watch it destroyed like this.
Fun fact: They censored the chainsaw guys in the PAL version by giving them axes instead. Much more kid friendly!

Really impressive TAS! I'll admit not knowing a whole lot about what goes into making one, but I'd imagine it's significantly more difficult to route and program for two players at once. This was an enoyable demonstration of one of my chidhood favorites.
Edit- I'm really hoping the upcoming re-release has save states so I can play around with item drop manipulation. It's crazy to see how fast this can be done when you get almost nothing but shoes.

It still bugs me to this day that you can't access the first secret level unless RNGesus blesses you with a bazooka in level 1. Great run though, I can't imagine how many save states you had to reload to get those item drops. Hell, I wish the game was that generous. heh
You can get to it without a bazooka just go to password and enter BCDF
That or the monster potion (I got it on the level I needed to access it oddly far more regularly then the bazooka unsure why but its a thing ..

Jamás pude llegar mas alla del nivel 7 cuando era niño por la dificultad tan alta. Pero yo sabía en mi mente de niño que este juego era super extenso, aunque jamas crei que tanto, tuvieron que pasar mas de 20 años para recien hoy poder ver el final

3:53 wouldn't it be faster to shoot the wall after walking to it given you are waiting for the bullet and the player speed is faster than it? Seem like an oversight unless I'm missing something.
I think it wouldn't matter since he still has to wait near the wardrobes to get the right RNG.

Why doesn't the boy pick up the shoes at 5:10? They Went to the effort of manipulating them and and went out of their way to open that secret. But skips picking them up?

Lost your extra victim bonus in "son of dr tongue" level by letting tourist become werewolves.
those tourists cant be saved. They are in an inaccessible spot of the map. But that map has the giant baby to make up for the mandatory loss of those tourists
do you know the bonus score name for destroying mothership? I forgot it, but when I was kid I remember that i destroyed one with soda cans and gave me a lot of points.@@Teknanam

@@Martin-ro2zjt doesn't modify game code, it's played frame-by-frame and was made with the help of tools that can read (not write) data to read the RNG & figure out the best time to do what

I play this game on the computer. A b c or x y keys do not work for changing weapons and items. I have to finish previous weapons to change. I cannot use the lives I use at all. How can I do that?
If you're using an emulator you can probably configure the keys in the input options
