In this video, it took SNES Drunk exactly 11 minutes and 1 second until the mention of "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball"
11 minutes longer than usual
It's a great game thats why
Snes drunk has to mention it sooner
Literally looking for this comment 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Good bot
In Contra III you can have both players on the same screen in top-view levels by selecting the 2 players B mode.
I was looking for this comment
Oh really? I did not know that.
Can't imagine how much of a headache it would be...does 1P control the rotation?
@@cjohnson9211 No, both players does, they just can't scroll if the other player is at the opposite edge. It's how I played back in the days and IMO it's the way to go (better view, less slow downs, better coop, because you always see the other player, not only when he's super close on your half screen, and never get separated). Not only it's easy to communicate and go in the same direction, but after a couple runs you've set a route you naturally both follow on each run.
Once you know where to go, which is pretty easy, it's not different from a BTU where you both go on the same direction without one constantly blocking the scrolling.
Thanks for this video! There's a couple of games on this list I never seen before and they seem fun to play
Secret of Mana - The girl only leaves if you insist on going to Gaea's Navel before attempting to go to the haunted forest. If you go to the forest first, she'll realize you need something to cut through the thick vines and agree to accompany you to Gaea's Navel. You can also avoid a very annoying battle where you get the girl back by rescuing her from a pair of (very annoying to fight because they cast cure on themselves every 3 seconds) werewolves by doing things in the correct sequence.
You have to talk to the soldiers to trigger the goblin rescue scene to recruit the girl aswell.
@@PsyGuy82 Quite sure you don't have to do that, actually. I've never actually NOT triggered the goblin ambush while heading to Pandora from the Water Palace. Not sure how you can avoid it.
Yeah I’m surprised, I never had one of the characters leave me in the game.
Five Greatest Soldiers of all time. Dyluck, Dyluck, Dyluck, Dyluck, and Dyluck
This is such a great niche comment
That Top Gear soundtrack hits me in the feels. B4 downloading was a thing i recorded that track on cassette with my boombox next to the TV speakers.
Ah, the good ol' days! 😎👍
Dude...this comes in clutch. I'm running a retro game club at my school and today happens to be the multiplayer day and I was looking for some off the beaten path options. This is perfect.
So many awesome choices in this video! A few I've never even played, to be honest!
A legend of the mystical ninja.. so many memories of taking on part time jobs in that game with my cousin, as we avoided doing real work.
This was such an amazing game. There really wasn't anything else like it on the Snes. It's a damn shame that the sequels never came to the US.
The n64 game made it to the US and was just fantastic.
5:15 this feels like a threat... I'm in! 😂
Kirby’s Dream Course is one of my personal favorites. So so good.
If you wanted to do a third video in this series, you could do one on games with hidden/secret multiplayer modes people might not know about. I know there are at least a few of them on the system.
the punch out one is fun
Oh, yeah. I think Mega Man 7 has one where its Mega Man versus Bass.
Up voting so he sees. More content is a plus :D
Final Fantasy III/VI can be 2-player for some reason
I have to highlight Kirby's multiplayer component, being an action platformer with such complicated moveset is an enormous asset to the game that's incredibly convenient and fun to teach a friend. And the Goemon games are such a treat with company. Like DKC, they feel like going on a fantastic journey with a friend. Great times.
Kirby has always been a super high quality game, especially the SNES game, the amount of entertainment value in that game is absurd.
Mentioning that some modes don't work with multiplayer is kinda weird. It's not wrong, is just that it's *one* single mode where you race against Dedede and that's it.
I mean, Gourmet Race would've been really fun with competitive multiplayer but I guess they didn't want to program a splitscreen just for that one mode.
Otherwise you can play the entire game with your friend.
Multiplayer in Kirby Superstar, lots of good times.
Haha, thanks for adding Kirby Super Star. Considering how many platformers back then just had you swapping controls, KSS being an option you could actually play together was pretty amazing. I have even played this game with my mother, and she's older and new to gaming, yet the co-op was still super fun together. A testament to its multi-player!
It's always been a top pick for me for co-op play on SNES, it's very accessible to all ages and skill levels. It's still a fun time even if you're experienced of course.
Kirby's Dream Land 3 is also worth checking out for much the same reason. Player 2 plays as Gooey, who doesn't get copy abilities like Kirby does but, if I remember correctly, can still take an animal companion. If you've beaten Kirby Super Star already or just want another SNES Kirby platformer to play, Dream Land 3 is worth a try.
@reillywalker195 I prefer KSS but yeah it also has co-op. However my older mother preferred KSS because of the varied partners and she could NOT figure out swallowing powers no matter how many times I explained. She'd rush and just shoot the star out. This has been fixed in New modern games by having the character auto swallow the power. So KSS or modern is my go to.
Now I gotta thank you SO much for keepig this going for all these years. What you are leaving here is a legacy of good content and love.
Second this, i love his videos 🙌🏻👌🏻
Someone should archive all these videos in case UA-cam gets crazy in the future
Always enjoy hearing about the SNES Mana series for its multiplayer. It was worth the efforts to get multiplayer in Seiken Densetsu III.
Wild Guns is a crazy good time. I've been on a Natsume/Tengo Project kick lately on Steam. We finally got Ninja Saviors on PC a few weeks ago, so I've been playing that a lot.
I played Kirby Super Star by myself, but I still used the second player sometimes. In the great cave adventure, some of the treasures are a lot easier to get when controlling a second character, even when juggling two controllers at once.
Kirby's dream course... I can never get anyone to play it with me for more than one round because I always dummy them lol.
When that Secret of Mana music comes on, the rush of nostalgia is immense. I understand it’s rough around the edges to come back to nowadays, but the memories are strong with this one.
Thanks for this follow up, these are now the definitive guides for multiplayer snes games!
Definitely played some of these growing up, and thanks for an upload on my birthday!
Awesome video! Can’t wait to see more of these!
Always mention the greatness of Top Gear. Non-stop!
This was an awesome series and I'm learned about some cool new games!
Been a long long long time subscriber and I always appreciate your uploads. Thanks man
The last one you had to get the obvious ones out of the way. But this was the real one i was hoping for and you did not disapoint! Such exellent choices and more than a few i havent heard!
Great video!!! Learned about some new games.
Your pet adoption video brought me to tears, animal adoption and fostering is so important. Thank you for sharing.
Please do a part 3. Lots of great multi-player games on the snes. Uniracer is fast pace racing with tricks that I loved.
Good call on Slam Masters. All these years later and I still love playing that game.
You had the comments off, but I needed to say I love Clyde T. Dog. Thank you for telling us about him.
Your voice always sounds so relaxing dude!! Love your videos!
This is a great list! Run Saber is awesome. One of my favorite co-op games in snes.
Fantastic companion list. These two videos are so incredibly helpful, thank you.
For some fun, bonus games. Clue was an old go to. You can do like 6 players without tedious board setup. Also game show games like jeopardy can be fun but a bit frustrating given how old the questions are.
THANK you for the video and hope you have a great rest of your day
No complaints from me. You covered all my favorites that weren't in the first video, and the Run Saber mention made me particularly happy.
Excellent list, definitely some surprises I didn't expect to see on there
It took me a minute... but I see what you did with Rocking Roll Racing awesome! Great video as always
Thanks for the pro-animal shelter video yesterday, appreciate you
Just a side note on secret of mana from somebody who analysed the hole "the girl leaves" situation:
It is absolutely possible that the girl never leaves if you first do her favor and go to the forest first before going to the dwarf mines. In the forest she will admit that you guys need an axe to progress further and will not run away next time you go into the mine. Therefore you can have the first girl in the second bossfight with you.
Really loved both these lists. Your channel is equal parts nostalgia bomb and treasure hunt, and I really enjoy it. A friend and I had a lot of fun playing Uniracers when we were kids. Also, Earthbound's multiplayer was almost nonexistent, but the game is so good I have to mention it.
Great SNES Drunk. Now my wife wants to play Rock N Roll Racing. LOL
Thanks for this video! It brings back so many awesome memories from the time when my brother and I played nonstop. The only ones I think you left out were the Capcom Mickey games, which were awesome and much better with a second player!
Great video. I also got to say I really liked your previous video on Clyde.
Another great way to play multiplayer with games that might not even have been intended for that is any kind of turn based game, for example in turn based RPG's like Breath of Fire or Lufia you could assign characters to each player and pass the controller around. Quite fun too and I did that sometimes with my brother.
When we were young, I used to have a blast with my brother playing Biker Mice from Mars
I love this series thanks
Oh man, quite a few of these really brought back a rush of nostalgia; Wild Guns and WWF Raw in particular!
Pocky and Rocky was always my favorite, surprised it didn't make the list!
THANK YOU FOR PUTTING KIRBY'S DREAM COURSE on here.
Also, we need a Sunset Riders reboot, HD, something for Switch.
Great list and great video as always. A lot of the mentioned games I played with a buddy and indeed they are tons of fun. I love multiplayer block falling games as well. If I may recommend one for the SFC: dossun ganseki battle. It's a bit similar to tetris attack, as you also use different powers to beat your opponent. It has an English ranslation patch as well.
I love that you gave Final Fight 3 a spotlight. I absolutely adore that game as a co-op experience, and if I'm being honest with myself, I genuinely just enjoy it more than TMNTIV. The branching paths, the unique super moves, the killer music. It's just great.
And an ultra sexy female cop too, and I don't mean wearing a standard police uniform...
I enjoy the content dude... Your channel is all about the games man, not how big someone's "retro video game collection is "like most of today's "retro gamers".. keep up with the content...👍 Straight from the South valley...lol
Awesome video!
Thanks for doing the lords work
Very nice list 😎
I’m not sure if it holds up today but I had a blast playing Return Fire with my brother growing up.
Me and my friends would always get together to play Kirby Superstar, Final Fight 3, NBA Jam Tournament Edition, and WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game back in the PS2 era of gaming. We played Final Fight 3 so many times we started coming up with our own story for what was happening.
Peacekeepers was always our go-to beat em up game for 2 players when I was a kid.
Glad Joe and Mac and Firepower 2000 made the list! Lots of new games I didn’t know about too.
O love How SNESDrunk emphasizes the "anyway you can"
You certainly included most of my favourite multiplayer games ✌🏼 and also feel kinda silly I forgot Ms Pacman existed for the SNES 😂
I like Strike Gunner S.T.G for a good co-op shoot-em-up. It's pretty easy, so it lends itself well to casual play.
Tetris 2’s vs mode is incredible, with customization for each player so that it’s a more fair matchup between players of different skill levels. Probably my most played multiplayer game on the system.
I expected to see STG Strike Gunner when you mentioned Aero Fighters. There’s also a genre-blind co-op game called FireStriker that’s unlike anything I’ve ever played.
I always enjoy your content, Mr. Drunk :)
I used to love playing Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety with my friends. I have heard a lot of people say it’s but which I find odd. It’s very fun.
Great great list! Pretty much all of these are definitely fun in 2 player mode. But Im missing Pirates of Dark Water. Awesome beat em up!
0:56 That good old Super Nintendo slow down. Off to patch the entire library of flawed games.
Oh man, I haven't seen looney toons basketball in forever! I got blasted work memories of playing that with my friends as a kid and having a blast with it!
Since it doesn't look like it's been said yet: The Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) remake doesn't actually have any multiplayer. It's still a great time and I love it, but it's just a solo experience.
Forgotten Worlds, while not a SNES game, still feels like one, its absolutely a blast with a friend. Not too long, not really difficult, its great
Kirbys Dream Course! ❤
Smash TV was awesome had so much fun playing multiplayer as a youngsters, chaos engine was always fun too
Kirby's Dreamland 3 is solid co-op.
SNES for life man🤘
Blessings from Hong Kong
SNES Drunk, you are no longer just "some guy on the internet". You one of the foremost 16-bit experts on the internet. Give yourself some credit :)
Big money, big prizes!!! I just remember finish Smast TV for the NES
In the NES version of Smash TV you could control your character by using 2 controllers held sideways, one d-pad for movement and the other for aim.
yesss me and my Brother played a ton of WWF Raw and Royal Rumble on SNES. The bucket was great
All very good games. My friends and I still enjoy Seiken Densetsu 3, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and Pop'n Twinbee
Rock n Roll Racing is one of my all time favorite gaming experiences hands down. I might not be friends with the guy I used to play it with, but man we spent hours playing that game eating junk food and just having a blast
You left off the best soccer game of that generation: International Superstar Soccer Deluxe
Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament, Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu Remix, Tetris Battle Gaiden, Sensible Soccer, Super Off Road, Super Tennis
I LOVED top gear back in the day
Super Smash TV was my first game for SNES growing up. My family got it discounted at a local grocery store Aldi. It was all I had to play for a minute. It has a permanent place in my heart
The bucket in WWF RAW- The wrestler Doink the clown used to have a humor spot where he would sometimes come to the ring with a bucket and would do the old clown act of pretending there was water in the bucket but then be confetti. After doing this act a few times he would switch it up and the other wrestler would be expecting confetti would get soaked....or it was just a weapon that wasnt a chair and it was randomly placed there.
One my favorite multi-player games is definitely All Japan Pro Wrestling 2, Dr Death Oklahoma Stampede, Stan Hansen with the Lariat, The Patriot with his Warrior tackles, Johnny Ace with the Ace crusher (Stunner) and Rocket Dropper. This game never gets boring, been out since 1995, brought it in 2005. One of my best Snes/Sfc purchases. Did I mention all the double team tag team moves, You Wrestling fans should play this now.
Rock and Roll Racing was my introduction to both metal and Blizzard. I loved that game so much.
Loved seeing Firepower 2000 on the list :)
There's a bucket in WWF Raw because that's what Doink the Clown would bring down to the ring.
I like your videos
Dossun ganseki battle, really fun puzzle multiplayer
Super ninja kun awesome 2 player platformer
Thanks!
6:24 Thank you!
posting my love for your clyde video here!
Fabulous video as always. My top pick is the Kunio Kun Dodgeball - Everybody Gather game released only for the SFC. If you can figure out the Japanese text or have a patched version, man this is one of the very best multiplayer games on the system. So much fun and ridiculous.
There's a couple of games from my childhood I never hear anything about. If you ever have the time to look into them would be cool to see. They aren't blockbuster titles by any means but for me they offer a great deal of memories. First for the Nes is Air Fortress. It's part side scroller part metroid without the upgrades. The only pickups in the game are Energy and Bombs in both sections and screen clears and invincibility on the approach. The first few stages set the game up easily, fly through the enemies defenses, approch and infiltrate the fortress, find and destroy the core. The part that makes this game unique is you have to escape before the fortress explodes. No saves but there is a password system as well as a second quest. The game is hard enough with the difficult mazes in the later stages for the first time through. A great simple pick up and play game. One of my Nes favorites. For the Snes is R.P.M. Racing or Radical Psycho Machine Racing. Upon first glance you'll notice it looks an awful lot like a very popular game called Rock N Roll racing. This is the first in that series. While not as fast paced or stylized, this game has a racing sim aspect to it. Make money, rank up, race more difficult tracks, but what makes this game timeless for me is between having a long single player mode, there's 2 player and a track editor. You can make a lot of track variety, asphault, dirt, ice, curves, jumps, ramps, shortcuts and you can even adjust the gravity. Vehicles also come with mines and oil slicks. Not a 10/10 racing game by any means but that track editor for my childhood was one of a kind. I never saw anything like it at the time. Between DKC, Zelda, Mario this game was up there in my most played because of that alone. If you've played these, I'd love to hear about it. I worked at a retro game store for 8 years and not a single customer had ever heard of those 2 games. They're also very cheap to buy so add them to your collection!
Sanrio World Smash Ball still is one of the most fun multi-player games you can find.
Nice List. Props for including lesser known games like Sanrio World Smash Ball.
There's even more games that are good multiplayer games but you'll have to do more digging for them.
Dokapon 3-2-1 with a translation patch can be a grand old time for those that are fans of rpg board & Sugoroku games.
Super Puyo Puyo 2 is a good choice as well if you want something different from Tetris Attack.
WWF Raw was pretty good stuff
Dream course is awesome
In the case of top gear my favorite is and will always be Top gear 2000. I really love the sense of progression on it
