      😁😁 thanks bro. If this metabones thing works on m43 & eos-m I'm going to be super happy.

      I just tried it and it blurry.. question do they make M4/3 to M4/3 speed booster

    • @AltCine
      @AltCine  2 роки тому +1

      What lenses are you trying? And how exactly did you build it?
      Can you show me some pics on Instagram @imceuk
      You won't get mft to mft because of flange distance, it would make everything blurry like you've already mentioned.

    Man, if you lived locally, I would send you my Viltrox adaptor and the pixco speed booster and pay you to do this for me. You are a genius Cole

    Wow. I would have bet money that wouldn’t have worked, given all the tight tolerances involved. Nicely done!

    • @AltCine
      @AltCine  3 роки тому +3

      Yeah I was very surprised myself. It also got me thinking that it maybe possible to have speedboosters that fit multiple cams ie, you buy the mount for £25 and then you can screw in the glass.
      I think the most fool proof way would be to market it for full frame lenses only as I could see people being unhappy with apsc lenses.
      They would fit but you may get seriously heavy vignette. Part 2 will be an interesting video for sure.

    Great to see a video on this because, I too was thinking this method but I don't have the lens glass but another one from a different lens gonna try to see when it arrives from Amazon. Great work........

      Awesome...if you have the glass it's definitely worth a a try. It horrible when you have to buy separate boosters for different lenses or camera's etc.

    Thanks I'm going to try on my Lumix G7.... But witch way to set the glass the bubble facing out or bubble facing the sensor...

    • @AltCine

      No probs, the bubble faces the sensor.

    Very inventive! Was wondering whether you had luck with the Metabones glass. If zo, I'll try to do the same thing on a Meike adapter for EOS-M.

      Thank you. I tried the metabones but it didn't work...I can't remember what happened but I remember it not working.

      @@AltCine Might have something to do with the magnification of the m43 metabones glass which is 0.64x. I guess the flange-depth will be more critical on that one. I believe the normal viltrox is adapter is about 4mm thicker than the viltrox speed booster which is 0.71x magnification.

    Oh yes good work Colin if you're metabones project works could open doors to all sorts of mods for camera's that you can't get speed boosters for great stuff 👌

      Hey Tony, thank you. Yes mate, you're correct! This could be great on so many levels.

      @@AltCine some speed boosters are a different focus ratio too not just 0.71

      @AltCine  3 роки тому

      @@tonywatson1508 yes x58, x64...I went with one designed for m43 & 0.71x as I now know that works on the m.
      I will also have to try the metabones glass in a proper efm speedbooster incase people want to swap out their viltrox glass to metabones.
      Many tests to do lol

    Are the measurements for the focal reducer glass lens the same for all? Or only certain brands will have a size that fits near the eos m sensor?

    • @AltCine
      @AltCine  2 місяці тому

      @@andobreslin8735 as long as the optics you use are made for APSC size sensor you should be fine. MFT sensor is slightly smaller but it still worked.

    Hey this is amazing! I have the idea to put a speed booster glass inside my new old Blackmagic BMCC2,5k. There is a guy who sells these adapters (Lucadapter) but for a very high price. So basically I want to screw out the original plastic holder from the camera and put the glas inside... Lets see how it goes...

    • @AltCine
      @AltCine  2 роки тому

      Very interesting 🤔🤔 that could potentially work! You may have to try it on wide a telephoto lenses but anything over 28mm should be good. Let me know how you get on please...I'm very interested to hear how this works out.

    • @andnow2214
      @andnow2214 2 роки тому +1

      @@AltCine Sure! 😉 I think I am going for an cheap viltrox speedbooster. Could you tell me the size in mm from your glass? I have to measure the diameter from the plastic holder then. Thanks and all the best!

    Great video! I cant wait to see if the glass of the Nikon Metabones will work as good as this. Also, for the future, how you got refunded for the broken Viltrox Speedbooster? You contacted the warranty service or something like that?

    • @AltCine
      @AltCine  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks 👍🏾👍🏾 yeah I'm actually excited to see if it'll work, I've ordered it already so we'll know in a couple days.
      Regarding the refund, I contacted the seller on eBay and they asked for a video. I sent it to them but I also contacted eBay just to make sure they knew I put in a complaint.
      I had that viltrox for about 5 months so needed the extra support from eBay.
      The seller didn't reply after video so I contacted eBay again, explained it was a brand new product that should have 12 month warranty.
      eBay then ruled in my favour and refunded and told me to keep the item.
