I do not see any problem with the proper vehicle. I drive bangalore to indore in a vento upwards of 100kmph for the most part, non -stop, majority of which is covered in dark, allows me to get a nice average speed due to less traffic. Although you need to know your breaking points accurately. dogs, cats, unprecedented lane changes of trucks are a slight amount of threat.
Gaadi kaisi bhi ho, Highway kaisa bhi Ho, India mein please 100-110 tak max speed rakhiye. Uske upar cross mat kariye. Yahan log wrong side se aate hain, koi proper signs nai hote, road uneven ho sakti hain, isiliye khatra bohat hai accident hone ka. Specially Maruti and Hyundai wale, aapki gadiyon ki aukaat nai hai aapko bachane ki, par iska matlab yeh bhi hai ki 5* rating wale bhi isko follow karen.

Listen it's not about at how much speed you are traveling if the opposite car is coming at extreme fast speed you won't get time to react no matter how skilled one is.
If you see most of the time because of others overspending we caught up in an accident.
I am a regular driver on the highways and I can say without a doubt that it is extremely unsafe to drive above 80-90 kmph in most NH.
There are diversions suddenly, uneven patches sometimes totally unexpected, animal crossing (dogs, cows etc), villagers in their vehicles moving left right without any indication suddenly, many tractors and old trucks have no tail lamps or malfunctioning, high beam from opposite lane despite using dipper and requesting them to lower it, no distance between cars or minimum braking distance not followed, etc...
Hence I always request anyone, it is ok to reach your destination 30-40 minutes late, drive peacefully. You won't regret it.

Firstly, very few highways in India are actually fit for speeds above 100 kmph due to number of vehicles at any given point of time. Secondly, recklessness such as using mobile phones, taking photos or making videos while driving is a common mistake, sometimes leading to very bad consequences. Thirdly, most of the youngsters nowadays and also some others have a unnaturally high ego and even higher false self confidence. This makes them unable to understand given risks and foolhardiness of their actions. Thirdly, majority of drivers are poorly trained. Very few people realise that driving an automobile is a science and one must have sound understanding of various factors before driving, especially in demanding stituations such as hill driving, off road driving, driving on twisty roads with sharp curves and high speed driving. Fourthly, most people pay scant attention to the quality and state of the tyres such as how worn out are the treads and whether tyre preasure is adequate or not. Fifthly, many people are ignorant of the correct sitting posture while driving and usually end up setting the seat more for comfort with the back rest too far reclined than neccessary. Result is, this reduces both alterness of the driver as well as reflexes. Fifthly, majority of Indian drivers have next to zero knowledge about the engineering of a car and as a result are not able to understand or pay proper attention to symptoms of underlying mechanical problems with their car untill it becomes too acute and also too late. This can have disastrous consequences under stressful situations. Therefore, in my opinion, it is not fair to simply put the blame of any accident on just high speed driving all the time. In this particular video, we can clearly see that the driver was carefully slowing down in dense traffic situation and carefully overtaking before speeding up again. His driving appeared to be smooth and controlled. The accident appears to have been caused by some 'external factor' and not just high speed.

Tbh i do drive at 120 on highways at night but i follow some of my own rules like i do these speeds only on the fenced section of highway and the section which has working lights and if any of the 2 conditions aren't met i don't drive above 100 also when driving at 120 i am fully attentive with both hands on the wheel and i see as far as possible and if there is any vehicle or obstruction in 100 mtr radius i slow down to 80 and if there is a bend and i can't see above 100 mtr then also speed gets down to 80 .

Because Truck was hit from the front, I suspect the truck came from either left or right side and the car driver couldn't get enough time to respond. This is the number one reason of accident on Indian road that a vehicle come from left or right from divider opening or road without traffic lights. Highways should not have such opening.
