I watch ye Sleep Good point, I remember even a game like Prototype having more polish. But even in 08 I remember being disappointed by Burst Limit after the great Tenkaichi Budokai 3. Not even the new Gen at the time made it a better game for me. But if this would've came out instead of Burst Limit at THAT time. It would've ranked a bit higher for me. What's your opinion?

@@vegitoda4738 5000 was when they scanned Goku while he was approaching. That was also in the Anime, so that was correct. 8000/9000 was when he powered up in front of them, and yes unfortunately they left that out.
Don’t pay 60$ for this game now. This game took out some great cutscenes from the show such as the world tournament. Well you can’t fight in the tournament but they took out trunks and vegetas final flash in the cell saga and that was not good, they got lazy and skipped some cutscenes.
Just got it a couple of days ago, but I'm enjoying it so far. Would have loved a bit greater variety of both enemies and melee attacks, but it's not just a button masher by any stretch. Feels just like the anime, lots of lighthearted downtime between some really intense boss fights.

The game does have flaws but i feel like the story is perfectly serviceable as it is, and the combat is fine for what it is although granted it can be a hard to grasp when you first play it. I think people who are fans of the DB games seem to have forgotten that not EVERY game in this series is a fighting game. For me it's one of the best games DBZ games I've played in awhile. My grading would be a solid 8/10 for me. It's got some flaws that hold it back from being a 9/10 like performance issues. It's definitely a recommend if you're a hardcore fan, but as a casual fan you can wait to get this game.
Merciless Freak so far this is the first semi open world rpg of dbz that we have, so it’s the best.. once they make more and that’s what I’m hoping for cuz I’m tired of the same fighterz or even xenoverse typa games then we can agree that this one isn’t that good but for now, it’s the best! ✌️

Honestly I really enjoy the game! It’s a great trip down memory lane! But think one of my biggest complaints is the loading screen between regions! Granted each one is pretty large and in depth but when you need to travel to different regions for main story missions, side quests or collecting the dragon balls seeing the same loading screen over and over again can get a bit annoying

Idk if you’ve noticed either, each DB they come out with gets better and better, little by little and that’s what annoys me because the replay ability isn’t that high because the game still lacks with every rendition which is a shame for such a legendary anime.

However, I’m speaking in regards to Bandai’s studio not others, so no, it’s not with everything (video game wise). You can still obtain great economics with a solid product, hence Apple or Rockstar game studios.

One button combos is kinda a thing ever since ultimate ninja storm and I absolutely despise that. I miss the open ended combo system of tenkaichi 3. Budokai is praised as the best in terms of fighting mechanics but I've seen combos in tenkaichi 3 that are downright filthy.

You start the game in one of the nursery areas and choose either low class Saiyan or elite. This choice greatly impacts the game in a few ways. If you choose low class, your power level will be miniscule and other saiyans will react accordingly but your zenkai boosts from battle will yield greater power boosts. Picking elite will give you a high starting power level but zenkais will be much smaller but a plus is control over great ape transformation and better starting techniques that will take the low level longer to unlock. This choice also affects the overall story and starting point for the character. The combat attributes are broken down into melee, speed, ki capacity, ki blasts, instinct, and durability.most of these are self explanatory but instinct would impact passive counters or dodges to attacks(think ultra instinct but much less powerful). High instinct is especially useful when fighting multiple combatants and is heightened near death. Zenkais would take affect everytime you are greatly damaged but not killed. Resting and eating food or items are the optimal means of recovery as health will not regenerate if you become to damaged in a fight. the bosses moves are way more grand then our own i kinda like that feel,if not being able to replay things as much as i wanted this would be a 9 but i give it an 8
I'm liking the game so far. However most of the boss fights seem a little easy and for a game called dragon ball z kakarot you rarely actually play as goku.
Only two hours in and I really wished they would have taken more time to animate the characters better. It’s 2020, not 2010. Give me the level of detail like God of war where it was a genuine treat to watch cutscenes and enjoy side quests. Right now I’m at a 7/10, but maybe that might change as the game goes on.
This is a good Dragon Ball game but a bad RPG game. Also, people still love traditional JRPG (just look at the sales chart of Octopath Travel). It just that, this game is really not good. The story is fine (which is same as always), but the side quests are pointless. I mean, why would you need to do side quests in this game if you can take a ton of EXP from the main story alone? that just defeat the purpose of grinding in JRPG.

Dragon quest 11 has some of the most random side quests ever, a lot of them are fetch quests and give you near to nothing in return, it is considered one of the best rpgs in the last 10 years. I love that game too, but because it has Dragon Quest in the title it gets leeway that anything it does is gospel, same for zelda. Don't get me wrong, I like those things in the game, but i just hate people shitting on kakarot for doing it but praising every other rpg for doing it. Double standards of hypocrisy when comparing any rpg to an anime rpg. Like there is a set rule that if the game is based on a comic or anime that it will be bad. These are the developers of storm 4, arguably the best story mode of any fighting game ever, they are not some random developer that tried to make a quick back from using the dragon ball name.

Enemy Stand user yea me too but I haven’t played a DBZ game where you go through the Z arc in a long ass time lol especially one where you play as the actual characters and not make your own created character. Plus It’ll be my first dbz game on pc so that should look nice. But I’m jst gonna wait for a sale from what I seen it’s not really worth the full price cuz of the stuff you mentioned.
It’s a good nostalgia feel but it’s very repetitive and trying to level up as you would an rpg is annoying. It kind of forces you to keep going with the story without getting overly strong for the next chapter if that makes sense
I feel like this plays on our nostalgia more than being an actual good game. I love dragon ball, but this game looks shallow from all the gameplay that I’ve watched. The more honest reviews that I’ve seen (that haven’t been blinded by nostalgia) have said that it’s “collect z orbs, fight the same enemies in the open world over and over, major battle, repeat” I dunno man.
gotta say the way the last saga was done was the biggest disappointment , felt so rushed even the comedy gag of the punching device was left out (even though they had enough time to describe the premise in detail). the car and bi pedal thing felt rushed as did the whole meal thing and most of the items (let's not talk about the rubbish 'community' thing they had going on with the 'gifts') a lot of it was sub par and they've done better in past dragon ball z games. if they had nailed the last saga with Majin Buu i may have overlooked it, but... one of the more interesting sagas when the author bottles making gohan the hero and gokus replacement and brings the old guy back. It'd have been nice to see it in full (the little things like goku holding videl back was missed out completely, and it's those little things that made dragon ball z more than mindless battles)

U played only 37 hours (which means u just did the story and some side quest) i sure u didnt catch the full essence of the game....all though u said some true and nice things about the game why u gave it 7????
Could've been condensed into 1/2 the time! The controls sucked....had to change move-sets several times. This review is done from perspective of someone who is not a DBZ or fighting RPG game fan! U can tell-there is no passion!

Enemy Stand user yea me too but I haven’t played a DBZ game where you go through the Z arc in a long ass time lol especially one where you play as the actual characters and not make your own created character. Plus It’ll be my first dbz game on pc so that should look nice. But I’m jst gonna wait for a sale from what I seen it’s not really worth the full price cuz of the stuff you mentioned.
It’s a good nostalgia feel but it’s very repetitive and trying to level up as you would an rpg is annoying. It kind of forces you to keep going with the story without getting overly strong for the next chapter if that makes sense

I feel like this plays on our nostalgia more than being an actual good game.
I love dragon ball, but this game looks shallow from all the gameplay that I’ve watched.
The more honest reviews that I’ve seen (that haven’t been blinded by nostalgia) have said that it’s “collect z orbs, fight the same enemies in the open world over and over, major battle, repeat”

It’s definitely for the nostalgia feel. I’m finding it very repetitive but still like what they’ve done
gotta say the way the last saga was done was the biggest disappointment , felt so rushed even the comedy gag of the punching device was left out (even though they had enough time to describe the premise in detail).
the car and bi pedal thing felt rushed as did the whole meal thing and most of the items (let's not talk about the rubbish 'community' thing they had going on with the 'gifts') a lot of it was sub par and they've done better in past dragon ball z games.
if they had nailed the last saga with Majin Buu i may have overlooked it, but... one of the more interesting sagas when the author bottles making gohan the hero and gokus replacement and brings the old guy back. It'd have been nice to see it in full (the little things like goku holding videl back was missed out completely, and it's those little things that made dragon ball z more than mindless battles)
I hope that there will be a one piece game that allow you to explore many islands.

I thought the review copy came super close to street date so she put 37 hours and wrote her review, the it was recorded and edited in less than 5 business days idk that seems like an alright pace

It’s their job ..... besides the point to note is that this is not the first late review ..... this has been a trend for long now ..... nfs heat review and so many others were late too ... by like a week or two...... also most of the reviews are by kallie ( not credible , biased reviewer )
Two major ps exclusives of 2019 were by kallie , rdr 2 review was by kallie , the Pokemon review ( another major exclusive for Nintendo ) was by kallie ..... clearly almost all her reviews stir controversy and aren’t credible .....making the reviews pointless

I hope they make a game about newer dragon Ball episodes. I wanna catch up the story but it's too long and a game is a good way to catch up. But this one's for nostalgic but I'm getting pretty bored of repeated game storyline...
Bartholomew Esperanza if they really want a dbz role playing game, they should do one about the saiyans. You start the game in one of the nursery areas and choose either low class Saiyan or elite. This choice greatly impacts the game in a few ways. If you choose low class, your power level will be miniscule and other saiyans will react accordingly but your zenkai boosts from battle will yield greater power boosts. Picking elite will give you a high starting power level but zenkais will be much smaller but a plus is control over great ape transformation and better starting techniques that will take the low level longer to unlock. This choice also affects the overall story and starting point for the character. The combat attributes are broken down into melee, speed, ki capacity, ki blasts, instinct, and durability.most of these are self explanatory but instinct would impact passive counters or dodges to attacks(think ultra instinct but much less powerful). High instinct is especially useful when fighting multiple combatants and is heightened near death. Zenkais would take affect everytime you are greatly damaged but not killed. Resting and eating food or items are the optimal means of recovery as health will not regenerate if you become to damaged in a fight. The story starts off with the saiyans fighting the tuffles for control of planet plant(Vegeta) you start as a front line warrior (low level) or fighting directly for King vegeta (elite). The story will include a branching storyline depending on actions and morality of the character. The story will go up to vegetas destruction and the player will either die in the end or somehow escape laying the groundwork for the sequel. What do you guys think?
