    Hi guys!! Been a little while 👋 took a bit of an upload break as the past two years have been a bit intense and have had a really nice time ready to hit uploads hard in 2022 💪

    I have the very same laptop. I think the only problem with it is the fact that it never uses its fans ! I mean sometimes it gets hot but the fans doesn't help at all. I wonder what are these two big fans are made for.

    do you think you would be okay with the 14" or would it be too small for you?

    When I got my 16", the computer didn't recognize either of my external hard drives. One was totally not recognized and the other could only run for a period of time before crashing. It was a total nightmare trying to get the files off of the old external hard drives to new ones. So it was the new Monterey OS that may have caused the issue?

      Yes correct! Fingers crossed it should fix in the next release. A workaround is that if you have an official Apple usb-c cable to connect the drive it should work

      @@ItsTomRich I was using an official Apple USB C cable and both of them had issues. I don't think it's the cable. I think some external hard drives aren't compatible.

      Ah shame, that's worked for a lot of people. They will fix it they know about the issue, super frustrating though

      @@ItsTomRich I already transfered most files to new SSD drives. Faster external with a fast computer has made my life way easier. I'll never go back to those optical drives again.

    What was your previous laptop? Do you think the 16" size is too big for you when compared to your old laptop?
    I am a 13" 2017 MacBook user and have been contemplating between the 14" and the 16"

    • @ItsTomRich
      @ItsTomRich  2 роки тому +5

      I had a 13 inch too! The 13 was way too small, and the 16" the tiniest too big if we're talking about overall preference? I kind of wish they did a 15 haha!
      But I'm glad I went with the 16 over the 14!

    If not video editing, how long is “ages” of battery life? :-)

      Yeah sorry that probably wasn't all that helpful, but it's because I haven't really comprehensively tested it, I'd definitely agree with apple's 21 hours of video play back or 14 hours browsing. Don't feel like they're exaggerating!

      I’ve noticed Word PowerPoint Excel could be quite easy on the battery. But Microsoft Teams is still very draining on the battery, if I’m in video calls in Teams it wouldn’t last more than 6 hours. Turning off incoming video helps to take it up to 8.
