      Pony Horton I'm glad they just added effects. I love the diorama and it's one of those elements of Disneyland that I could see them easily getting rid of but I hope they never do. I will be so heartbroken if they ever get rid of it. I would rather they put in a second tunnel than replacing it entirely. They've been changing a lot lately and now I'm a little paranoid, sorry.

      You are definitely not alone Brandy! It hurts to see all the changes that are being done to Walt's version of Disneyland that he personally oversaw. Enhancements are fine, total change, not fine.

      I'm having trouble viewing the dinosaur sequence. Are there new projections there, too?

    • @FreedomforHaiti

      If Walt had lived long enough to see nostalgia become part of experiencing Disneyland, I wonder if he himself would've modified his philosophy of always changing? Disneyland was fairly new in his time; nostalgia would increase in ensuing years. There's no way of knowing, I suppose, but I don't assume everything he said was meant to be set in stone.

    Thank GOD they didn't mess too badly with the primeval world. That is some serious history there. Walt personally oversaw the creation of these dinosaurs for the 1964 worlds fair. I'm glad to see they still have a home.

      I know what Walt said. He said a lot of great things. All I'm saying is that I'm glad these animatronics can still be enjoyed from the days when they were first experimenting with the technology.

    Was anyone else thinking, Turn the camera around! as it passed by Star Wars Galaxy's Edge? The train ride is a hidden jewel though as it is a people mover type experience with TONS to see. What was the flower riddled entrance just before New Orleans Square? Disneyland is so much more than Magic Kingdom, charm just oozes out of every nook and cranny.

    • @chrisdisney8201
      @chrisdisney8201 7 років тому +4

      There are a few vloggers who turned around at the watefalls, but really you can't see over the rocks so the only sign of SWL will be the cranes lol.

    • @howtubeable
      @howtubeable 7 років тому +3

      The flower riddled entrance to the New Orleans Station is a nod to Mardi Gras parades. Look behind the flowers, and you will see king and queen heads, typical of Mardi Gras. Also, in the foreground, there are Mardi Gras beads. Personally, I would move the heads to the front to make it clearer that this is a Mardi Gras theme.

    The level of attention to detail paid by the Disney Imagineers when they executed the Primevil World is amazing. That space is not that big but the scale of the details in the plants, rocks, and environment sell you on the illusion that the dinosaurs are huge.

    For the very first time, the Disneyland railroad gets to turn left. ;-)
    The last time I visited was 1991. Splash Mountain was fresh, but no Indiana Jones and no Toon Town. I DID get to enjoy the cable skyway tram through the Matterhorn, Country Bear Jamboree, Journey Through Inner Space, People Mover, and the awesome barbecue lunch behind Thunder Mountain Railroad. Those favorites are all long gone now.
    The rest of the park looks pretty much the same except for Toontown and the new Star Wars land. Much of the latter was formerly a maintenance and office area outside the accessible park area when I went.

    Aaaand no Rainbow Caverns. Shame on you Disney. Would it have that hard to add it in? I understand the reasons for removing so many of the Frontierland parts over the years. But it's getting to the point where Frontierland is almost gone entirely. Is it too much to ask them to bring back a universally beloved bit of Frontierland by adding Rainbow Caverns to the new train route?

      disneyphilip I disagree. That tunnel is way too short to have Rainbow Caverns. Also, if they were planning to put Rainbow Caverns there, they would have done it already. There's absolutely no reason to have not done it by now. Now that the train and ROA are officially reopen, aka FINISHED, that tunnel is too.

    It's feels like the re route is the same amount of time to get around the park as the old one and distance to despite it being 0.1 miles less than the old one

    The projection effects added to the Primeval World are the same tech added to the Indiana Jones ride as the car approaches the doors. I believe it's an Imagineering competition inner-company award winner.

    I hate to spoil the magic and fantasy for you, but I noticed that Bill Rogers is doing the voice on the new train ride. R.I.P. Jack Wagner, we'll miss you even though you DID sound like Wilson from Home Improvement. Trains rule when you travel long distance. In May 2018, a passenger fell off of the Disneyland Railroad and the cast members did the best they could to help him/her revive. We made the right choice to disembark at TomorrowLand Station instead. I took good photos of the path that the train runs passed Rivers of America and the Agriculture billboard with my blue digital Canon camera. The 1 that fell on the ground in Cars Land outside of Sarge's Surplus Hut last year in October?

    Personally i think they need to lower the pitch of the voice a little bit and it would be better make it a little more like the old one anybody else agree?

      It IS a sort of jazzy, loony version, so somewhat appropriate. And I think the folks who have said it's a nod to the future expansion of Fantasyland are right. I suspect that it will return to being the Fantasyland Station at that time.

    At 13:51 it reminds me of the Dinosaur scene in Ellen's old ride at Epcot in WDW. Looks so similar.

      Walt also wanted the auction scene in Pirates of the Caribbean.

      Bobby T it's sad you think Walt was what he wasn't, someone who didn't like change and upgrade....guess what....he did. It's also sad that "Disneyland is a museum" people like you are what prevents Disney from updating things. Just because Walt was part of building something doesn't mean it needs to stay in the technological Stone Age forever.

      chadwpalm It's hard to find the right balance of progress and nostalgia for any Disney attraction. Sometimes the very thought of changing a certain ride is more taboo than the original Little Mermaid poster, yet the changes can wind up making the ride even more beloved (like the California small world). Other attractions seem in desperate need of change, yet are constantly overlooked for fixing things that were never broken (like Journey into Imagination with Figment staying kind of sucky while Maelstrom was needlessly scrapped for some more Frozen cash cow milking). But I think we can all agree the worst crime that can be inflicted on any Disney attraction is shutting it down & abandoning the space (like they did with the Wonders of Life pavilion in EPCOT and the Peoplemover in Disneyland)
