- In this video (which is my first video lol) I will show you on how to "install" the overhauled trains mod in GTA V/5. Enjoy this dumb tutorial lol.
Also, I lied that I was gonna put the mod links in the description, that's cause UA-cam wont let me add clickable links, so I put the links in the comments, although not being pinned cause UA-cam wont let me pin comments lol.

railroad engineer train model names: freight, freightc, freightdef, gevo, streak, streakcoaster, streakcab, streakcoastercab, sd70mac, streak42, streakclassic
mods:
Overhauled Trains: www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/overhauled-trains-lore-friendly-liveries (drag and drop the overhauledtrains dlc pack to mods/update/x64/dlcpacks, with either file explorer or OpenIV. Drag and drop the trains.xml file that came with the mod to mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/levels/gta5, and with edit mode enabled. And go to mods/update/update.rpf/common/data, enable edit mode, right click the dlclist.xml file, and click edit, and copy and paste the DLC list line that I added in this same comment or something)
Heap Adjuster: www.gta5-mods.com/tools/heapadjuster (drag and drop the HeapAdjuster.asi and HeapAdjuster.ini to the game directory/root)
Packfile limit adjuster: www.gta5-mods.com/tools/packfile-limit-adjuster (drag and drop the PackFileLimitAdjuster.asi and PackFileLimitAdjuster.ini to the game directory/root)
Gameconfig (make sure its up to date): www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars (drag and drop it to mods/update/update.rpf/common/data, with OpenIV, and with edit mode enabled)
Script Hook V (make sure its up to date): dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/ (drag and drop the ScriptHookV.dll to the game directory/root)
Railroad Engineer: www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/railroad-engineer (drag and drop the J10RailroadEngineer.asi and J10RailroadEngineer.ini to the game directory/root)
Is there a way I can spawn the train consists, like spawning the Long Intermodal for example, because having the random ones means it’s mostly small freight trains or passenger trains for me lol.
now, im not entirely too sure on how to do that, but the way i do it is i install the 2 trains 2 tracks mod, then i open the trains.xml file, and then i copy and paste the train's name in the metro group (for example, if i want to see a custom consist that i made but rarely spawns, i just copy and paste the name of the train in the metro group if that makes any sense) something worth mentioning, if you do this, that means that you will see the train more often in the local track if that makes any sense. im not too sure how to explain, but i hope this helped a little

yo i dont know the speedometer for the train to go 300mph or more where do i install that please i need it
im not entirely sure how to do that, and i wonder why do you need the trains to go at 300 MPH lol

BTW DO YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE FAST TRAINS sorry caps lock and the railroad cause it doesnt work for me if i go to program files to rock star and grand theft auto v
actually im not too sure about that, i believe you drag and drop the traintracks.xml file to mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/levels/gta5 in OpenIV (make sure you have edit mode enabled) and do you mean that the railroad engineer doesnt work for you or something?
Can this work on a steam deck I hope it does
actually im not even sure about that, i dont even know if you can even mod in the steam deck, cause i dont own a steam deck, or even saw someone mod GTA V in the steam deck. also, due to the new BattlEye anti-cheat system that was recently added to GTA V, steam deck and linux users can no longer play as far as i know

My scripthookV for some reason, is showing critical error, even though I have kept everything up to date, do you know why this maybe?
i really dont know, but what version of script hook v do you have? and what game version are you using? also i do apologize for the late response lol...
@@Shrek702-l0l I was using game version 1.0.2845 but script hookv was 1.0.3274 and ah, I did change scripthookv to the same game version, and didnt have much mods installed so I just kinda went screw it, and reinstalled the game, have yet to find out if this has worked yet
@@zech7896 damn... i kind of knew you were using an older version, cause i dont think there is no way you would get an error with the latest GTA V along with the latest script hook v or something... and i have a feeling that the mod might not even work for you somehow or something, cause whenever i try it myself, it works, and when someone does the same, it dont somehow...
@@Shrek702-l0l Nah yeh I have made the mod work multiple times before in the past, in this version and less. It just sucks cause like my launcher, says It's on version 1.0.3274 but the GTA Directory says other wise (1.0.2845) But yeh nah you're tutorial Is honestly pretty good, the way you installed the mod previously was not how I had done it, and is what probably broke the game entirely, from future updates, I found like a second trains.xml file that was somewhere else in neither locations you said where to install em but, after figuring out I can install it this way then I will do that haha. so, what do you exactly mean? like what version should be the game config file be?

@@Liam-de2bx now, i do apologize if i dont fully understand, but you mean like which gameconfig you should use? like there are older versions of it, ones with more or less traffic, and one for less or more mods or something, again, i do apologize that i dont fully understand im quite dumb lol...

my game crashed as soon as i entered the game. Pls help me i have no idea why my game crashed
i knew someone was going to say this lol, anyways, so did you even do anything correctly? if so, what did you do to install the mod? and also, what crash error are you getting? are you getting a crash when you are in the loading screen?
@@Shrek702-l0l Well this is gonna be hard to explain but what i did is i replaced the trains xml file put the overhualed trains in the dlc packs and typed it in dlc list
and also when i installed game config i put it on stock traffic more mods and i also have packfile heap and limit installed and yes i am getting a crash on loading screen
idk if i have the right requirements for it because every train mod i install including kitsune trains my game crashes

well... i am not surprised someone said that. also, what mods are you using? where did you place the files at? and are you using cracked GTA V?
