A few things cleared up: 1. Grinding in video games is not a bad thing. This was a great watch. I dropped out of GTA ONLINE just before the heists came out and never went back. The best day of gaming for me on GTA me and a friend found that chopper that can pick up vehicles. We picked up the whole lobbies cars and stuck them onto of buildings. So funny, anyway that simple on the fly fun was way better than any planned missions or quests.
Great video, although playing gta online with friends now is arguably the best it's ever been because of the plethora of content there is. There's countless races you can do, missions, even more heists than there were in 2015, and messing around with friends is still very fun.
Facts. GTA IV multiplayer consisted of picking up your friends, doing a drive-by somewhere, maybe some stunt jumps, and having random shootouts. GTA V Online actually has a purpose in what you choose to do.
Trash talk bringing back memories grinding contact missions like crazy. I remember I couldn't bare just running rooftop rumble on repeat back to back so I had a list of like 5 contact missions I would cycle through on repeat all day. My life for most of high school was school, GTA, sleep for like 4 hours, and repeat lmao. Don't regret it one bit I was having the time of my life.
We really didn't understand how good we had it when GTA online came out, I always wonder what my old gaming friends are doing. Hope they're well, thanks for the video Julian!
The evolution of gta online kind of mirrors your characters progression/”growing up”. You start out young and free without responsibilities and a dream. And as your character grows and ages in sync with the games content and updates, you advance in your criminal career and get more responsibility/different priorities to keep your new lifestyle going. In due time you’re so far up the ladder that the fall will kill you, meaning that you have to stay focused on making money to fund your empire. Which in a way is a very well thought out role reversal to what the game makes fun of during both story mode and online gameplay. It’s kind of like growing up in real life and realizing the effort and responsibility an adult life takes compared to when you were a kid. I grew up as a young teen playing GTA 5/Online and am now an adult with my own business etc. So this perspective makes perfect sense in my eyes.
When heists were released I loved it. I would play regularly. Life got busy and online was getting more harder to enjoy. I pretty much gave up online 5 years ago. I have logged in maybe 5 times in the past 5 years to check on how insane it is. 20 minutes later I log out and go back to single player.
Got the same account since 360 transferring to ps4 for 10years, never paid for a shark card and still prospered, why I respect gtaonline balancing grind with cards choosing either one⚡️ plus the servers is still running smoothly threw multiple gens that's still dope
There is no way R* can keep things fresh & give the "feel" of freedom in this game constantly. Now we actually have so many heist/mini heists to play. But people feel obligated to farm the best $/hour methods. Just pour your time in the R* creator and have fun. 100% FREEDOM
I am level 400, I first started playing back in 2013, and have been playing on and off ever since. I own all the jets, the fun planes, the cool properties, and all the weird toys I want. I do not own an oppressor. I will never buy an oppressor.
Freaking Larry at GameStop. He’s the reason I never got COD and Xbox live when I was a kid. Ended up getting Pokémon black instead, which was a solid game, but I never got to play COD with my friends like I wanted
Now the key issue that is prevelant in GTAO is: It doesn't really matter how much money you have at hand; what does matter is how much you "make" in a specific period of time. That's what actually keeps you going. Funds can decrease, income is the opposite dynamic of it. Grinders have habits, which in turn are based on how quickly their businesses produce product or how quickly the respective mission cooldown goes away. So if you want a specific thing that costs you millions, you can actually gauge how long it will take to get the money to buy it. That's why income is more important than actual funds (funds only in the sense if they can cover the cost of the desires object; which they don't if you are still below the level of 100 and juggling with the biker, acid and gun running bizzes to increase those same funds). And this is how the economy, for the individual grinder, usually works out. It takes a sxxtton of time to grind for the stuff you want to have. GTAO indeed is like a second job.
When I was younger, I realized this pretty fast and moved to doing money glitches to bypass all the BS. At that point the game became extremely fun. People will argue this "breaks the game," despite the game being fundamentally flawed from the beginning. You, yourself, have the ability to get around the poor design of the game, but people will still complain and sit on a moral high ground. The freedom is there, you know how to achieve it, but you don't want it. Crazy to me
It helps if one considers “grinding” as playing. Had a young user that like to mess around but if he did the same thing in a mission, he’d hate it. So I tried to trick him into a mission, he’d have fun and then he’d go, oh I got money.
Julian: "[...] I think it might be shaping up to be a sandbox where freedom might really have no bounds" Also Julian: precedes to end the video with C418's Aria Math soundtrack...
Honestly the oppressor messed the game up for me. It’s like as soon as I kill a player on foot and drive away they never wanna actually play the game, instead hop on that damn oppressor and kill me over and over again 10 times. Point I’m saying is nobody plays the damn game anymore. And it’s difficult to get money and I’m not spending $100 for 10 million. And plus you can’t even get anything, maximum one big purchase with 10 mil maybe have 2 mil left.
i see an Oppressor and log out right away. same when i see level anytning-thousand players. these ppl have NOTHING else to do but fuck with ppl trying to play the game.
So me and you have both played for the longest time I did buy a modded account in 2015 to 2016 bc you are right it started to feel like a job with no fun so I could finally play the game to have fun and the game should be built on fun
First played this game on ps3. Than we were remodeling the helicopter barracks on fort Riley and I found a perfect GTA 5 disc sitting on top the trash in this dumpster out front of the barracks. It was for Xbox one. I still have it. Never got into the online. I play GTA for the story missions
And when he said “serious rp” it’s legit super serious if u run someone over by accident that’s a ban for “gta driving” 😭 shooting someone who’s holding a friend hostage? Yeah nah that’s fail rp ur banned. 😒
Yea kind of sad that most of my interactions with other players came mostly from mission / heist invite than meeting them randomly and mess around with them
I agree with all of that, but if you "want" all the luxury things or oppressors something like that grinding it's the BARE MINIMUM. It just takes you to play the game and don't be bad; you can literally open the in game phone and enter in an heist or cayo perico lobby whenever you want and make some friends and ask them if they can give you some money or something. I'm a day one player that used to sell pedestrian vehicles at the Los Santos customs back in 2013, now with ONE heist you can have a car, a rocket launcher, a del perro mansion (200k), ammunition like bro wtf. Fun fact: you can always play the game broke and hanging around; anything changed, just find the right people and create an only invite session idk
Finnaly someone said it . Rockstar makes the worst online games where you can’t have fun and gringing is just an miserable experience where rockstar pay you spear change for hours of grinding. Eaven if I buy some business i have to spend countless hours just to have my money back and start earning. It’s just not worth my time
Back then in survival you earn 20k if you survived all 10 waves. But now you get 30k a year later i believe. But nobody since then played it anymore, i do miss that gamemode
I think the WORST part is that a game called GRAND THEFT AUTO doesnt let you STEAL the higher end cars, because they know they can make players buy them if they block you from getting them normally.
Yeah. The only money exploit i ever did was the dupe car glitch with the MoC and Auto Shop. I only did it up til i got like 40 million to buy all the stuff i needed to eventually make money. Like bought all nightclub stuff, Biker businesses etc. Now i got most of everything and sitting with 40 million, now i just play to do the career progress stuff.
I remember hopping online on GTA 5 for the first time and making a ton of progress my first day just to lose it all and when I logged back on and I never bothered to go back cause i never knew that they fixed it I thought that’s how it was supposed to be 😂
All the businesses, customizations, vehicles are so split up. There is no common soul to the missions (I get it’s not the single player campaign but still) It feels like a map with 15-20 diff mobile games instead of a single AAA online experience.
My character arrived in Los Santos with nothing and worked his way to the top by either robbing a submarine or cayo perico and then closing the game before it saved the heist being complete
A few things cleared up:
1. Grinding in video games is not a bad thing. My point in this video is that in GTA Online, Rockstar has continued to move the goal post as far as wealth goes and what that does is make it so players spend more time trying to catch up through grinding, than actually enjoying the freedom that this game is supposed to offer. But let us be honest. There is nothing like GTA Online in this world right now. One day we will look back in time and realize it was a great experience. Rockstar has their issues but we can't deny that this game rocked our teenage years and the countless memories we have. Thank you Rockstar.
Quit simping for corporations.
@@ZiddersRooFurryit isn’t simping, judging by your pic I assume you didn’t wait in line for gta to drop at game stop? Was gt4 your childhood an then 5 came for teens? Lol comeon mane gta is culture
@@fyahbeard4745 It's a game. Rockstar is a corporation. If you think so much of them you can't see how greedy they are or how they're preying on slavishly devoted fans like you, I feel sorry for you. By all means have fun playing games but don't ever forget that to them, you're just a number on their financial spreadsheets.
@@ZiddersRooFurry this ideology can be applied to anything. I could argue you simp for something a lot of the population doesn’t understand. I’ve played since release on every console an now pc. Never once spent irl money. Some of us enjoyed gta online before it became what it is. Why does gta as a whole all of its games have to be categorized into just GTA 5 online? Play the story for what it is, an dip out. The old times of gta that we had as kids is no more I accept that. You think I don’t get annoyed giving a hour of my time for a million thru Dre? I’m aware of the ice burg an I go “ fuckin rockstar “ at least once a month. Please point me towards a game anyone can pick up an play as easy as gta. Not gta online. But gta any gta. Nothing has a more culture impact like gta. Anyone can play gta an understand the basic concept. There is a reason gta is the second most bought game. It is undeniable and has nothing to do with me being some die hard fan, I would insult the devs of rockstar to their face for their fuckery if I could. No corporation is your friend I’m very aware of this an it has nothing to do with me enjoying a game I bought for 5 bucks that I play in private seshes with my friends over discord an have tons of laughs. Do you have a social club gta acc I can check your stats? I bet you barely have tried to do glitches for money to beat rockstar an just enjoy their game on your own terms lmao
@@ZiddersRooFurry Why do you make everything sound so horrible? Yes, at the end of the day we're just numbers. When you have millions of people playing a game you're not going to individually take care of every single one and meet everybody. Without us there is no game so thats why good game developers listen to their community but there are definitely LARGE companies who couldn't care less.
Meanwhile, they haven't added a single thing to the singleplayer since like 2015.
Playing on private ps3 servers is great as it's on updates before mk2 and such garbage
What a great video man. Yet again it blows my mind seeing new youtubers with such high quality videos so underrated. Keep it up my man
The first day I got to play GTA online was on PS3 in 2016 and someone teleported me to a roof and dropped like 17 million to me 😭
I hope GTA 6 goes back to basics
Bars
We really didn't understand how good we had it when GTA online came out, I always wonder what my old gaming friends are doing. Hope they're well, thanks for the video Julian!
Another banger upload! Congrats bro.
Nah bro is taking me on a memory trip though. Rooftop rumble was that Shiiaatt for like 2 months until rockstar nerfed the pay to 17-24k😭
Now the payout is good but some vehicles are too expensive
liked the video
It'll be sad to leave all the progess we made in GTA 5 for the past decade but I'm so hyped for 6
Awesome video. You made some great points👌 subscribed😊
This video was so well done. I hope someone from R* sees this. Could not of said anything better.
another really entertaining analysis/breakdown. keep the good stuff coming!
glad I put this in my watch later, damn good video.
Great video, this deserves more views.
There is no way R* can keep things fresh & give the "feel" of freedom in this game constantly.
Now we actually have so many heist/mini heists to play. But people feel obligated to farm the best $/hour methods.
Just pour your time in the R* creator and have fun.
100% FREEDOM
i seriously hope rockstar won't follow the same path for the next gta. i know they surely will, but all i can do is hope.
Rockstar are like 10 years ahead of everyone else
I am level 400, I first started playing back in 2013, and have been playing on and off ever since. I own all the jets, the fun planes, the cool properties, and all the weird toys I want. I do not own an oppressor. I will never buy an oppressor.
How come?
Freaking Larry at GameStop. He’s the reason I never got COD and Xbox live when I was a kid. Ended up getting Pokémon black instead, which was a solid game, but I never got to play COD with my friends like I wanted
Keep the new format Rollin and watch the yt money roll in
Awesome video man, and completely agree!
Amazing video man, I loved it!
This was a really good video!
Minecraft music can be used anywhere can't it, great vid man
Still won’t forgot going to to toys-r-us to pick up my pre order of gta5 with my mom lmafooooo
I typed a whole paragraph but I’ll summarise it I miss gta without griefers and MkII flying bikes
What a video by the way 👏
Subscribed, good quality content is my weakness
this was such a good video
Crazy to me
exactly, financial freedom makes the game a lot more enjoyable, you do content for, well, content instead of solely payout (which is dogshit)
AMAZING VIDEO!!!
I’m not going to lie. GTA taught me a lot about life because of how it feel like a job irl
I have the fear that GTA VI online will be monetized to death. More grind or more shark cards, your choice.
It helps if one considers “grinding” as playing. Had a young user that like to mess around but if he did the same thing in a mission, he’d hate it. So I tried to trick him into a mission, he’d have fun and then he’d go, oh I got money.
This game is literally a time parasite
Julian: "[...] I think it might be shaping up to be a sandbox where freedom might really have no bounds"
Also Julian: precedes to end the video with C418's Aria Math soundtrack...
started playing in 2017 and in 2018 i got into modded activities, made a good 500milions and i've lived trough all of gta online easily
I hope for a nice growth for this channel
this guy is about to blow up
Good video good quality loved it
Honestly the oppressor messed the game up for me.
I'm excited for this one
Yeah this is exactly how I felt, why I stopped playing, the grind was too much
Very well made video👍
Great vid bro! 👌
Meanwhile GTA Online in 2024:
Yea kind of sad that most of my interactions with other players came mostly from mission / heist invite than meeting them randomly and mess around with them
My goat uploaded again! What did I say bro i knew that cod video would blow up
This video is bound to blow up
I remember the days when threats in GTA Online was 4 dudes in a car with Uzis
I bought shark cards back in 2015 and my god I regret it, what a dumb kid I was taking money from my grandparents lmao
The developers of RDR2 had 3-4 hours out of the week for free time. Free time being for dinner, lunch, breakfast, hobbies, family. That’s just insane
I just do cayo everyday and fly my raiju around when bored
millions of subscriber typa videos crazy i got to find you before you hit those crazy numbers tho 🙏🏽
Gotta love the Minecraft music at the outro ❤
I think the WORST part is that a game called GRAND THEFT AUTO doesnt let you STEAL the higher end cars, because they know they can make players buy them if they block you from getting them normally.
Yeah. The only money exploit i ever did was the dupe car glitch with the MoC and Auto Shop. I only did it up til i got like 40 million to buy all the stuff i needed to eventually make money. Like bought all nightclub stuff, Biker businesses etc. Now i got most of everything and sitting with 40 million, now i just play to do the career progress stuff.
Damn bro ya got good quality ya got a big future if you do this kind of stuff with gta 6
And then theres us, the prople who had a cracked version of the PS3 and could only play gta5 story mode for the past 11 years...
Some times i do Gerald missions just to get that old feeling back 😢
Good to hear someone else couldn't get the game because of what the gamestop employee said to our parents when we tried to buy it
I've worked more in GTA 5 than I've done in real life, that's a fact.
just got my gta online buddies into SAMP, and were never going back!
I remember hopping online on GTA 5 for the first time and making a ton of progress my first day just to lose it all and when I logged back on and I never bothered to go back cause i never knew that they fixed it I thought that’s how it was supposed to be 😂
4:02 wtf lil bro
All the businesses, customizations, vehicles are so split up. There is no common soul to the missions (I get it’s not the single player campaign but still)
It feels like a map with 15-20 diff mobile games instead of a single AAA online experience.
My character arrived in Los Santos with nothing and worked his way to the top by either robbing a submarine or cayo perico and then closing the game before it saved the heist being complete
Good vid👍
