    Wow looks very roomy for 1 person. Wish we could get some good weather. Was wishing to try some miltech poncho shelters. Not much fun in the rain and a weeks worth more of it coming yet. Thanks for bringing us along.👍

      We were lucky with the weather. This was last weekend, now 7 days later its very cold and some places have snow.

    I enjoyed the trip Jim-Bob. I like the tent, especially the head-room. I've not been around those. I recently began using a 3x5 meter poly-tarp with a hiking pole and floor configuration and have come to enjoy it. (lacks a little in head-room but packs down fairly small) thanks for sharing.

    Those Dutch army tents look like good kit especially if you can get one grade A condition. Hopefully I can get lucky and get one myself. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.

    I really like how that tent blocks out the light, I have heard they get really oven like in the summer but I'd say probably worth it to just to not be woken up at 5am by the sun lol.

    Hey Jim I use the F2 French ARMY tent ,it's absolutely brilliant,and for 40 quid you can't beat it ,I think I've spotted it on military mart for 30 pounds, nice video fella

    Very cool tents those are. I just bit the bullet and ordered myself a travel Tempur pillow, weights way too much but they make my neck happy.

      The Tempur stuff is very good, my shop was agents for them. The 180cm matrasses were a bugger to deliver, they were heavy but bendy.

      @@jim-bob-outdoors I’d love a tempur bed but man those things cost a lot of money. Their pillows have served me very well over the years, would recomend to anyone. Looking forward to trying the travel pillow in the woods

    Everyone I’ve seen with this really liked it then it started to rain. You should have a plan b with this. When things go wrong it not a disaster it’s an adventure glad you had a dry night

      I know John, I have seen many people say that they leak. I am going to waterproof it next time we have a few dry days and will take a tarp with me the 1st time I use it in the rain. 👍

    Maybe the horizontal low zipper is that long because these tents are connectable?? Cheers Torsten

      Yes the is extra zips on both sides all along the top, so you can zip multiple tents together. JB.

    With so many tents to choose from, how long does it take you to make a selection or, when you know where you’re going does particular kit spring to mind? That one looks sturdy and spacious. 😘

      It is about 6.8kgs...i reduced it bei replacing the poles who are masive with my adjustable walking sticks. Then it is about 5kgs. Suits me for hiking.

    Liking the look of the tent man,i almost bought a 2 person french army tent from a local surplus shop,glad i didnt the reviews were really bad on them.good video cheers for sharing.atb.

      I have friends with the French tents and really like them. I think the early one (canvas) is a bit better than the new ones.

    A heavy bugger I bet but I like it, in good condition isn't it. A lot nicer to sleep in than a Dutch army hooped bivvy. Nice one Scout. Lee

      I am very impressed with it Lee. On the heavy side, but no worse than using a Lavvu or something like that. Have not weighed it but its not too bad, could shed some weight by using normal pegs etc rather than the army ones that could tether an elephant to the spot. 😁

    Look up Tenacious tape for the repairs
    Can be bought on a roll or separate patches - will work better than Gaffa tape 😉

      Thankyou. I have repaired the small hole on the side. I have used some special tape that I had at home and just put a small patch on the inside.

      I know that's what made me think about it for a few months, but at this price I think its worth a go. Going to waterproof it next dry day we get and then give it a good test.

      I am sure you will like it (apart from the weight😁) Just remember if its wet, make sure the ends of the zips are sticking out, not tucked in. If its windy and wet, point the foot end into the wind and you should be fine. 👍😎

      I can do mate. I have a Shotgun licence and have owned a few. Used rifles that have belonged to friends, but never had a firearms licence. Quite happy to make a video about it if the is interest.

    I've had my eye on that tent for a while, mainly for car camping or group camping. I need to stop hesitating and just buy the bloody thing before they end up as expensive as the Lavvu 😒 Needless to say, its probably my last tent I ever buy 👍

      Very happy Lawrence. You get a lot for the money. Only downside is the weight so I will not be walking far with it. Yet to test it in the rain, but I am going to waterproof it 1st.

      Think with canvas tents you're just supposed to weather them. Get them soaked a few times and the fibres tighten up. I'd like to try it myself, but you know...another tent?

      @@RambloManiacs Yes you can just weather them, but it would depend on the quality / condition of the fabric. Adding some extra waterproofing is just insurance. 👍
