Wow looks very roomy for 1 person. Wish we could get some good weather. Was wishing to try some miltech poncho shelters. Not much fun in the rain and a weeks worth more of it coming yet. Thanks for bringing us along.👍
I enjoyed the trip Jim-Bob. I like the tent, especially the head-room. I've not been around those. I recently began using a 3x5 meter poly-tarp with a hiking pole and floor configuration and have come to enjoy it. (lacks a little in head-room but packs down fairly small) thanks for sharing.
Those Dutch army tents look like good kit especially if you can get one grade A condition. Hopefully I can get lucky and get one myself. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Always the way mate. Its bright and sunny down here on the coast this morning, but it was down to freezing last night. Got to love the British weather. 😁
Good set up mate, plenty of air circulating, a good view, roaring fire and some scoff,(fire looks steady), happy days, carry on camping fella! ooooooh errrrrrrrrrr matron! All best
I really like how that tent blocks out the light, I have heard they get really oven like in the summer but I'd say probably worth it to just to not be woken up at 5am by the sun lol.
Hey Jim I use the F2 French ARMY tent ,it's absolutely brilliant, and for 40 quid you can't beat it ,I think I've spotted it on military mart for 30 pounds, nice video fella
@@jim-bob-outdoors I’d love a tempur bed but man those things cost a lot of money. Their pillows have served me very well over the years, would recomend to anyone. Looking forward to trying the travel pillow in the woods
Everyone I’ve seen with this really liked it then it started to rain. You should have a plan b with this. When things go wrong it not a disaster it’s an adventure glad you had a dry night
I know John, I have seen many people say that they leak. I am going to waterproof it next time we have a few dry days and will take a tarp with me the 1st time I use it in the rain. 👍
With so many tents to choose from, how long does it take you to make a selection or, when you know where you’re going does particular kit spring to mind? That one looks sturdy and spacious. 😘
It is about 6.8kgs...i reduced it bei replacing the poles who are masive with my adjustable walking sticks. Then it is about 5kgs. Suits me for hiking.
Liking the look of the tent man,i almost bought a 2 person french army tent from a local surplus shop, glad i didnt the reviews were really bad on them.good video cheers for sharing.atb.
I am very impressed with it Lee. On the heavy side, but no worse than using a Lavvu or something like that. Have not weighed it but its not too bad, could shed some weight by using normal pegs etc rather than the army ones that could tether an elephant to the spot. 😁
I know that's what made me think about it for a few months, but at this price I think its worth a go. Going to waterproof it next dry day we get and then give it a good test.
I am sure you will like it (apart from the weight😁) Just remember if its wet, make sure the ends of the zips are sticking out, not tucked in. If its windy and wet, point the foot end into the wind and you should be fine. 👍😎
I can do mate. I have a Shotgun licence and have owned a few. Used rifles that have belonged to friends, but never had a firearms licence. Quite happy to make a video about it if the is interest.
I've had my eye on that tent for a while, mainly for car camping or group camping. I need to stop hesitating and just buy the bloody thing before they end up as expensive as the Lavvu 😒 Needless to say, its probably my last tent I ever buy 👍
Very happy Lawrence. You get a lot for the money. Only downside is the weight so I will not be walking far with it. Yet to test it in the rain, but I am going to waterproof it 1st.
Think with canvas tents you're just supposed to weather them. Get them soaked a few times and the fibres tighten up. I'd like to try it myself, but you know...another tent?
@@RambloManiacs Yes you can just weather them, but it would depend on the quality / condition of the fabric. Adding some extra waterproofing is just insurance. 👍
So the holes are not observing social distancing???? A tightly clustered group of holes????? I'd wear a mask just in case........... Better take my pills 🙄🙄🙄😕
Good morning Jim Bob, another peaceful video, love your new camouflage tent ⛺ 😊💝🏴 Xxxx
Good morning! It was a nice weekend and I am very happy with the tent, seeing its second-hand and old (bit like me 😂) Thanks for watching Paula. x

We were lucky with the weather. This was last weekend, now 7 days later its very cold and some places have snow.
Awesome buddy .. tent looks great .. good camp as well .. it’s always fun camp with people .. cheers Chris & Sam

Lovely camp. The tent looks huge and Probably kept you warm. Thanks for sharing. JB
I am very impressed with it so far, bloody heavy though compared with what I normally use.
@@jim-bob-outdoors the heavier the kit - the shorter the walk. My policy anyway. 😁😁
@@GraysOutdoors Its actually not too bad for what it is. The rubber bottom is really thick.
Nice one, a great woodland camp. xx
It is one of my favourite locations locally. 👍
Those Dutch army tents look like good kit especially if you can get one grade A condition. Hopefully I can get lucky and get one myself. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Little on the heavy side, but they are built really tough.
Looked nice to get out. Tent looks like it does the job 👍
It does! Very impressed with it, apart from the weight. 😁
Hey Allan, great video my friend, really enjoyed it as always! Keep up the awesome work 👍
Thanks for the visit, it was nice to get out and try something new. 👍😁
Hi Jim just talking about it warming up , well I woke up to a fine covering of snow this morning up in north north Yorkshire. Love the lantern .

Another good one Allan 👍 was nice to get out 👌
Absolutely, hope it all went well last night for you?
@@jim-bob-outdoors yeah no problems lastnight 👌👍
Hey Jim I use the F2 French ARMY tent ,it's absolutely brilliant, and for 40 quid you can't beat it ,I think I've spotted it on military mart for 30 pounds, nice video fella
Yes the F2 is quite cool and I did consider buying, one just before the Dutch.
Nice camp, like the Dutch army tent, never seen one up close.
I was the same mate, quite impressed.
Very cool tents those are. I just bit the bullet and ordered myself a travel Tempur pillow, weights way too much but they make my neck happy.
The Tempur stuff is very good, my shop was agents for them. The 180cm matrasses were a bugger to deliver, they were heavy but bendy.
@@jim-bob-outdoors I’d love a tempur bed but man those things cost a lot of money. Their pillows have served me very well over the years, would recomend to anyone. Looking forward to trying the travel pillow in the woods
@@ThePreparedNorseman The is lots of cheaper options than the Tempur beds now and most are just as good. I loved mine though.

Maybe the horizontal low zipper is that long because these tents are connectable?? Cheers Torsten
Yes the is extra zips on both sides all along the top, so you can zip multiple tents together. JB.
Hi JB,
I'll be watching this later but will leave a thumbs up now as I know it's gonna be a good un!
👍👍
Cheers Steve. 👍
@@jim-bob-outdoors
Just as expected, another great video JB.
Also, good to see Marc.
Atb,
Steve.
👍👍
I used little freezer bags pushed through the holes , tempary fix till I figure something out
Not a bad idea. If it works, it works. 👍
I like the Hastings feature.
Yes I thought I would add the tag. 👍
With so many tents to choose from, how long does it take you to make a selection or, when you know where you’re going does particular kit spring to mind? That one looks sturdy and spacious. 😘
Lot depends on the time of year, this one would be a good winter option.
I like the look of the tent. What is the weight of it?
Not sure Roy, I will dig it out and weigh it. 👍
@@jim-bob-outdoors you don't need to bother if it's away mate.

Nice tent mate looks the part for sure.. Looks very spacious for sure for one person with gear as you say... good camo on that..
Take care mate 👍🏻👌🏻
I am really liking it. Look forward to using it a bit more. I think its going to be too warm for the summer though.
That is a lovely looking tent, JB.
Stop showing me stuff man 🙄 😂
Lovely to be out with company, isn't it?!!!
Yes it was great to have some company for a few laughs. Liking the new tent so far. Cant really go wrong at that price.
@@jim-bob-outdoors Many more in the coming months too... Hopefully 😉
Great price, yes 👍🏼

I have friends with the French tents and really like them. I think the early one (canvas) is a bit better than the new ones.
A heavy bugger I bet but I like it, in good condition isn't it. A lot nicer to sleep in than a Dutch army hooped bivvy. Nice one Scout. Lee
I am very impressed with it Lee. On the heavy side, but no worse than using a Lavvu or something like that. Have not weighed it but its not too bad, could shed some weight by using normal pegs etc rather than the army ones that could tether an elephant to the spot. 😁
Look up Tenacious tape for the repairs
Can be bought on a roll or separate patches - will work better than Gaffa tape 😉
Thankyou. I have repaired the small hole on the side. I have used some special tape that I had at home and just put a small patch on the inside.
I hear so many conflicting views on the Dutch army tent, will be interested to hear how you get on. 👍🏼
I know that's what made me think about it for a few months, but at this price I think its worth a go. Going to waterproof it next dry day we get and then give it a good test.

Great video mate.
What was the knife you were using?
Its a replica of the British MOD knife. About £20 and tough as old boots.
Can you go into detail on Hunting in England. How hard is it to get a license? How about firearm ownership what’s the process. Thanks.
I can do mate. I have a Shotgun licence and have owned a few. Used rifles that have belonged to friends, but never had a firearms licence. Quite happy to make a video about it if the is interest.
Great looking set up Allan but as usual not practical for us as we would need two of them :)
Very true but if you wanted, they have a zip on each side and you can zip multiple ones together.
Didn't even know the Dutch had an army
They are bloody tall going by the length of the tent. 😁
How about condensation? Nice vídeo by the way, thanks.
No condensation at all. The is some nice air vents at the top. Thanks for watching.

How is your bucksaw soo good on cutting wood? My one sucks
I think a lot depends on blade type. The saw itself was made by my mate Marc.
Subbed mate
Thankyou my friend. 👍
I do like my Dutch army tent yet to see what happens in the rain but 🤞
And it's a shame it's so heavy
Yes I wont be walking too far with it. Next dry day I will add some waterproofing.
Yeah done mine with nikwax but yet to test
