Thanks for your efforts and filming while you're still not up to snuff. These simple, no-frills, first-impression overviews of shelters and gear are quite enjoyable.
I think this is a fantastic tent. ⛺️ you got a great bargain there. I’m really pleased to see you out and about again. Enjoying the great outdoors. Hope you’re feeling better today. 👍⛺️🙏🇬🇧
Glad you’re feeling better now Allan 👍 I’ll have to pop down with my Pomoly teepee hot tent and do a comparison. I love the idea of using a ridge line I’ve been toying with the idea of an apex pole system for mine to create more room. Stay safe fella, hope Kate is the perfect nurse 😃👍🌟
I enjoyed my hot tenting in the Lavvu that much last camp, I accidentally purchased the 2nd edition of the Onetigris smokey hut for my next camp at the end of the month. It's pretty much the same as the tent you have presented but with a few small extras. I'm looking forward to having a chair inside, unlike the Lavvu.
Great review! I love the fact that you were not expecting much and were very pleasantly surprised! It looks like a great deal. I am curious about how it performs in rain and snow, however. Sorry that you have been under the weather, and I hope to see you in the woods very soon!
Looks good for £50 Allan, even open as a shelter with a camping cot. Would be nice with setup and a fire just to the front of it. Especially if solo camping
hey Allan .. dank je weer voor het meenemen , de tent 50 pond (en jou SMOCK) spreken mij erg aan !!!😁 leuke korte video .... grtz, ik ga eens zoeken op TEMU Janneman😉
I was thinking of getting one ,but the stove i have weighs about 25 kilos .so if i did invest in one i would need to buy a stove to so well over 100 quid which is a bit over budget for the few times i would use it ,i have stuck a stove jack in an old fishing bivvy .but not used it yet .great review brother. God bless you and your family and happy camping 🏕 😀 😊 😄 🙏. Lee
Im with you an the stove vs weight thing. My kit isn't superlite to start with! Much as i appreciate the idea of a hot tent, not sure my back has the same enthusiasm lol. Decent tent for the money though. Alex.
Evening Sargent, this looks a nice tent, I’m like you, I only get attracted to the cheapest types…😂 but…..a Rolls Royce does the same as a Morris Minor, goes along the road. Lol. But this tent you’ve bought, is nice, a hot tent too, as you said, the stove that goes with it, is too bulky and heavy, for a rambling camp, 😅, I’ve been looking at the stoves, but… I don’t think so for me, and, here’s the best bit, are you sitting down, ………….I don’t drive 😂😂. But I do like what you’ve done, is get the tent, but not the hot stove, so just stand in front of the tent, and shout….I Luv you tent lol. £50 Alan, um I’ll look around and see what I can find. Best wishes my friend, I’ll look forward to seeing you out in the battleground with this tent….Brian
I've always been put off tepee style tents because of the pole in the way and the lack or straight space to make a bed, I get that it's a great shape structurally as it is very strong but for sleeping in, I am unconvinced. Since I got my stove I have been toying with the idea of buying a cheap tent, putting a jack in it and making a steam room/sauna, it may be something I try next year.
My thoughts were much the same. The test will be if my camp bed fits in it. I can remove the pole and run it with a ridgeline, but I want to test it as it is 1st. The plus points is its one of the best shape for windy days and the steep sides should give good water run off. We shall see. 🤔
@@chrish6373 not really my thing because I dont have a stove. I have one tent that would be perfect for a couple of people + stove but its not cheap I am afraid. I don't see the point in hot tents either for the same reasons as you. You may as well shut yourself in at home 🤷🏼♂️ Seems decent for a 50 quid tent though...
Hi Jim. Hope you are well. I was given a Winnerwell Nomad large stove and bought a hot tent from fleabay for £90.00. It’s not much bigger than that tbh, but with a snow skirt. I’ve never used one before, but I thought I would give it a go. The stove is bloody heavy, so I think it would be good for ‘car camping’. I’ll give it a go when it gets cold. All the best 👍🏾🇬🇧
I really enjoy your videos. Not alot of BS just a good honest review. Keep up the good work.
Thankyou. 👍
Totally agree with this comment, so many people out there just chasing freebies. The only genuine ones are Jim Bob and Simon in the Woods

Thanks. So far this tent looks quite good for the money.
It looks a great tent, I often buy cheap tents and use fabsil and seam seal the stitching and never had a problem with leaks.
Well worth the money mate. I dont hot tent myself but really like tipi tents. I would buy this. Looks a great buy

I am not a fan of pole inside. I will see how it goes, if not it will be ridgeline time.
Smart idea. The pole is kind of in the way. I feel like the effort of a ridge line is "tarp camping plus" rather than being a tent.
@@chrish6373 Centre pole is one of the reasons I have avoided the design so far. We will see how I get on over the coming weeks.

look at the gaps all round the bottom, cold draughts and freezing

I’ve seen them used more in much colder climates and they make sense, however for the UK it seems overkill.
Not big enough for us. If I cannot fit two cots in, it aint happening for us :)
I think you could, but it would be tight with a stove too.
