As you were setting up, the edge of the tent on the right of shot was almost invisible against the leaf-litter ⛺️😎👍. I like how you kept one side elevated, it provides waaaay more room than the classic 'pup tent' configuration 😊👏👏👏.
Flecktarn camo blended in very well👍🏻. Ive had a sofirn torch for 18 months now, brilliant bit of kit for the price. I got a mate to 3D print me a defuser for it, works brilliantly so on low it's like having a candle lantern enough light to see wot your doing but doesn't light the camp up like Blackpool illuminations 😂
With the dappled sunlight that camo was perfect. I enjoyed the stealthy revenge of the moth as it slowly covered the lens lol. Reminded me I must take some white fabric and an egg box when I take my gransond camping so we can try attracting a few nice moths.
@@jim-bob-outdoors Thanks chap, we can't wait :) apparently Avon skin so soft original jojoba dry oil spray is a great bug deterrent, I asked a mate to order me some when she next gets an avon book thru the door so fingers crosse ;)
Love the Flecktarn 🤎 good set up. Like the use of hiking poles, you are so sensible and think stuff through (most of the time😆) That wretched moth was rather persistent! Sadly I think I would have swatted the beast 😁 Your timing was good, thanks for sharing 😘
Beautiful English woodland, Jim, an excellent German flecktarn, solo camp too. I'm a big fan of our British 'DPM' camo', my bergen is DPM pattern, but German flecktarn will always be my favourite, it's a perfect fit for our British woodland. Let's be honest, mate, flecktarn is so popular that even our British moths can't resist it :p . Great video, thanks as always :) .
Nice chilled camp there , lots of them ole moths about . Like the look of the shelter I've got one of them , only used it on a day camp but looking forward to using it in the mid autumn/winter. I always seem to wake up that early on woodland solos. Take care ther JB 👍
Loving the flecktarn, works so well in British woodland. Cracking little spot, I'm the same with traffic noise, it's always there and I don't really hear it until playing my videos back.
The was always going to be a bit of noise at this spot. Its right next to the main road on the edge of town. Strangely when the wind is in the opposite direction, you cant hear it.
Awesome mate really like the soften myself there really great torches for there size and I’m sure ther battery life is really good to love the camp and set up the flectarnnwith a camo net looks awesome as mate love it
@@jim-bob-outdoors Yeah that's why I've hammock bivvyed the last few or hammocked... just got myself a Sea to summit mozzy net for bivvy camps... I've so many bites I'm itching like crazy after each camp and that's just being outside 😩
Very enjoyable video, liking the flecktarn more and more, must admit I do like solo camps, sort 50/50 with solo and camps with others, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Very nice and peacful camp mate. That torch was very bright when you adjusted it. How many lumens is it?. The moth stoled the show a little bit😅. Fabsil seemed like it was doing it's job. Great video mate.
I am beginning to fall in love with that Flecktarn pattern, JB. You can see why the Germans liked it! I like the look of those Mil-Tec bivvies. Would you prefer those over the BA gortex bivvy? I wouldn’t mind a side zipped bivvy. I have the DA hooped bivvy but fancy a bit more room. Shame your area was compromised. That moth is the Scottish “See You” moth, if he is head butting 😁
I really like your military camps my friend and you are so right simple makes the best memories and enjoyment thank you
Thankyou, glad you enjoyed it. 👍
I really like taking my old gear from my military days always a good time
Yes I have a few bits in the collection. Most of it is for colder weather though.
As you were setting up, the edge of the tent on the right of shot was almost invisible against the leaf-litter ⛺️😎👍. I like how you kept one side elevated, it provides waaaay more room than the classic 'pup tent' configuration 😊👏👏👏.
Yes it is my preferred set up if weather allows.
Great video work JB 👍 That bloody moth 😆 The German flecktarn works awesome in an English woodland. Must try and get a solo in myself this week.
That bloody moth was giving me grief all evening. Every time I put the light on to do some filming. 😂
Brilliant camp mate!
Thanks Don.
Hi Jim Bob,loved your solo camp, look forward to the next adventure 😊💝🏴 xxxx
Thanks Paula. 😎x
Stealth moth alert....................! Flecktarn looks great in that environment, looked a good overnight stay mate.
I enjoyed my self apart from the bugs. 😁

Sofirn make some good stuff without it being silly money. The IF25A is the one I always take camping.
I love Flecktarn, it's a good camo for UK forests and looks so damn cool too 👍
I think its my all time favourite too. 👍
The unpredictability of nature. Loved the moth on the camera. Great stuff.
It was a novelty at 1st, but after a couple of hours it was not so interesting. 😂 Thanks for watching. JB.
Great video, I love how the flecktarn blends in with the leaf litter
It is a great camo. 😎👍
Great overnighter. That German gear sure did blend in well with the woods. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks for watching. It was a good camp apart from the bugs. 🙄

It was a good camp but the bugs would not leave me alone. Have fun with your grandson. 👍

Its a very versatile bit of kit but just a bit heavy. xx

Got to admit, Flecktarn is my favourite. DPM works well, but I do like to mix things up. Thanks for watching.
@@jim-bob-outdoors Yep, I agree, mate, my fave pic' from the video: 7:40
Dear Allan, it is a great pleasure for me to watch your videos! Greetings from Germany Viola
Glad to hear that! Thankyou for watching and taking the time to comment. Regards JB (Allan). 👍
Thanks for another great video Allan. Really enjoyed it.
Thanks Peter, I enjoyed it apart from all the bloody bugs. 😂

They are good shelters but heavy as you know. Mine will be out in the winter, right next to the fire. 👍
My thinking to mate 👌🏕

0:32 I couldn't see the rucksack. Great camo! 👍😂
It is very cool, the Germans have been using it for decades. 😎
Another good one JB thoroughly nice to have come along with you and great images of some nice gear. Thanks for sharing bud. Atb. Harry

The moth whisperer 👍 Nice solo Scout good set up.
Thanks mate. The bugs were driving me mad by the end of the evening.

Hi Alan,im now a convert to the flecktarn, cracking set up and video man, cheers for the effort in making the vids.all the best.

Solo is nice sometimes, but I do like a good chat. 😁
That’s Mothra! Watch out Godzilla might be hiding somewhere
😂👍
Love the look of them tens might have to invest in one.
Tough as old boots, heavy compared to modern stuff though.
Great video Jim, I love solo overnighters. 👍
I prefer a bit of company, but the odd solo is nice. Thanks for watching Rich.
same cap as mine love flecktarn
Lots of Flecktarn fans out there, with good reason. 👍
Suggestion I use a large waterproof British army dry sack for my wet Lavvu until I get home. :)
Yes I could do with one for the canvas, good call.

It was a fun camp. The little torch is 3000+ lumens, my review video with the spec is here. 👍 ua-cam.com/video/5-bk84XyMVw/v-deo.html
I agree with one beer on a solo for exactly the same reasons.
Safest plan mate. 👍

Tough call on the bivvy. The MilTec is more convenient but the BA one is more breathable. I like both to be honest.
@Jim-Bob's Adventures & Kit. I would prefer breathability over convenience due to my fart sack being Down. Oh blast! 😞
You look like a 20 year old clean shaven. No one will take u seriously. They will think u r bunking uni. 😁😁 Great vid again. ATB Grays
I do have a bit of a tide up now and then. 😂👍
Was that light "arm"er?
