    Clones are much higher quality troops, droids are much cheaper. Separatists have corporate backers who already had battle droid armies and facilities while a secret plot by rogue jedi and sith had the clone army commissioned for the Republic. That's the short answer of why it's not just droid vs droid.

    This series is sooo good, I'm glad you're getting a chance to enjoy it. The first two seasons can be pretty rough as it took a while to find their style and convince Cartoon Network that a more mature (but still appropriate for all ages) tone was the right way to go. Re-watching the prequels now isn't a bad idea, but watching them again *after* you finish Clone Wars will give you an even greater appreciation for Lucas' vision, even if he wasn't able to fully realize it in the movies.
    As a side note, Lucas believed so much in this show that he funneled a bunch of his own money into its production and spent a lot of time talking with the show runners. He helped fill in details and gave them ideas for episodes. Honestly, I believe Dave Filoni, the supervising director and one of the writers, is George's true successor and Star War's current best chance at a bright future.

    Regarding how Anikin and Obi-Wan know Ventress. When The Clone Wars originally aired, the older Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon done by Genndy Tartakovsky (who did Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack) had already established how and when Ventress joined the separatists and first clashed with Obi-Wan and Anakin, hence their familiarity here - but once Clone Wars became relegated to the Legends canon, this episode remained as it was despite now lacking an official reason for the characters to know one another. The circumstances of how they meet weren't shown until years later when the novel Star Wars: Brotherhood was released.

    Ken's ass is correct. The reason r2d2 and c3po don't act like other droids is the person(s) that built and maintained them. The Clones are able to think on their feet, improvise back up plans and generally sort through things with an eye for keeping civilians out of the fight. The Droids have none of this, even the assassin and commando models, which are extremely dangerous even to jedi.

    You have to keep in mind that the whole war was engineered by Palpatine, and he is secretly directing both sides. He created directed the creation of the clone army in secret, to be the army for the empire afterwards. I think it also makes a difference that the people who had the capability of mass producing battle droids were on the Separatist side. And he covered up the existence of the entire planet where the clones were grown so nobody would suspect.

      You do have a point. The ethics in cloning an army like this is highly debated, and there is a reason that the Kaminoans were secluded away on their planet in the outer rim, and not really part of the Galactic society.
      I always comes back to the scene in The hitchikers guide to the galaxy, where the sentient cow comes out to sell you on what part of them you should eat. they were designed and created for a purpouse. if you take that purpouse away, what are they then? If we are to allow cloning, we will have to rationalize it morally.

    Nice to see you guys watching this, the clone wars fix so many plot points in the movie while also enriching the overall lore of Star Wars. It's amazing and the best part is how it humanizes the clones and shows they are more than just disposable soldiers.

  • @001skm
    @001skm Рік тому +2

    In short, clones are vastly superior to droids. They have individuality and this creativity, which allows flexibility in combat. Also, this clone army which serves as the Grand Army of the Republic is THE best fighting force the galaxy has ever seen up until this point, which is proved throughout the Clone Wars as the Separatist Droid Army outnumbers the Clone Army 100 to 1 (if I am not mistaken). This is why the Republic is fielding clones instead of droids.

    I think Slick is right. The clones and battledroids are the same, both created to destroy themselves until there's nothing left. The Jedi are the ones who should be held accountable, after so much negativity they still do not see how much damage they caused among countless of lives across the galaxy.

    I believe Slick when he says he loves his brothers, of course. He wouldn’t endanger any of them unless it was his last resort. All he wanted was to leave the army, be free. Send a message to the other clones who would follow.
    Still, a traitor is a traitor. Wether or not he didn’t intend to harm Slick’s brothers, many clones still died because of him and the intel he leaked.
    Yes, clones don’t have freedom. How could they? They’re all made to be canon fodder. And it’s all the Sith’s fault for orchestrating this massive conspiracy!

  • @davidbergfors6820
    @davidbergfors6820 Рік тому

    12:07 Sure he is, doesn't mean he's wrong!
    a Droid is limited to it's programming, a clone has the ability to think creatively.
    add to that that the clones are "sourced" from a highly Intelligent and physically capable Human named Jango Fett, and you have something really amazing on your hands that will trump a droid any day of the week.
    What droid would have thought of snagging the tactical droids head in hopes to identify the leak in their plan?

    Ventress was anakin’s main enemy during the clone wars. She actually escaped the entire war just a couple of weeks before anakin’s test of spirit which made him a fully fledged knight, yoda might have knighted him but he wasn’t really there yet mentally or via the force so the trial of spirit was the last step. Ventress came from a very isolated world but a dathomir force mage nonetheless under the tutelage of the rouge mother tazin. She became a Jedi padawan but her master died leading her down a dark path into dooku’s hands. She has the lightsabers of komari vosa which were gifted to her. Komari was dooku’s padawan but slipped down the dark path when the incident with dooku leaving the jedi while leaving only dooku with his padawan alive against mandolorians, dooku ran away from his problems while vosa couldn’t take the guilt and somehow got brainwashed by a dark force cult. Vosa was killed by jango fett and her lightsabers were given to dooku who then gifted them to Ventress. Ventress is more of a berserker with some finesse preferring to run head long into combat but slowly whittling away defenses but not very bright, her role is more of a spy gaining information and passing it along.

    Honestly, give me R2 over a clone any day! xD I think you're right about that. When droids become something more than their programming, they're usually amazing!
    Although, B1 Separatist battle droids are... well... definitely not R2. Essentially just a pair of legs for their blasters. Which I think would've been even cheaper and less vulnerable.

    a lot of the clones actually hate the jedis because they are terrible military leaders, they watch people that they grew up with die left and right because the jedi always charge into battle without any real military tactic, its kinda why palpatin made them the leaders of the republic army because they are so bad at it lol.
