I am a Posh Ambassador on Poshmark and I would NOT want them to forego the authentication process on anything I sold for MY OWN protection. I think that both myself and my buyers are happier knowing that they've gotten exactly what they expected and there are no questions. How can you fully enjoy your purchase if you have any shred of doubt that it may not be an authentic piece? I think that is a ridiculous thing to do, and frankly, it sounds like Poshmark is simply trying to lighten their workload through a loophole. I personally stand with you that this is "policy" was not implemented and you were left without the guarantee you were promised!
I totally agree. I just recently sold a Chloe Mini Marcie NWT on there and I was very happy to send it to their facility first (not that they can't make mistakes). I wanted Posh to see that the bag was in pristine condition so if the buyer decided she wanted to return it she couldn't claim it had any flaws. I messaged several Posh Ambassadors and I found one that actually posted a photo of the letter she received from Poshmark stating that she is a "trusted seller" and is going to take part in this new program. They will lose a lot of business as far as I'm concerned. I barely trust these "expert" authenticators, so without inspection....no way. I just purchased another bag off of Fashionphile. If you saw my first youtube video it was an unboxing from there for the LV XS Watercolor Keep all. I love it but there still is a tiny part of me that thinks it could be fake. Poshmark should at least give the option to have the buyer pay for the authentication. I would have done that. But they sent me an email after looking at my photos claiming the bag is authentic so at least I have it in writing. The seller sent me the receipt, and it had all the cards and tags attached so I think it's legit. Thank you so much for watching. Please support my channel by liking and subscribing...it cant hurt, lol.
Hi and thank you for watching. Honestly I believe this bag is authentic. The seller was very transparent with the receipt and all the paperwork. But I still wanted insurance from Posh. I don’t think I’ll buy anything luxury from there again unless I absolutely can’t find the item elsewhere. I too want the luxury items I’m selling authenticated because I want posh to see the condition so I can’t be scammed by a buyer that ruined the bag and claims it came that way. Another thing to worry about 😊
Very informative video ; I sell on Poshmark and it’s disheartening if they don’t authenticate! They need to authenticate in person like you stated. You need to feel, look at stitching etc. The bag looks beautiful.
I agree! I sell on Poshmark as well and had one item go through the authentication process which I appreciated as a seller and made the buyer feel more confident in purchasing from me. I find this is an awful situation for you both and the lack of communication from Poshmark is frustrating. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. 😊
HI, I'm sorry for delayed response. I just saw your comment. I don't agree with any place that does authentication through photos. But that's just me. Thank you, I love the bag!
thanks for this video. that's true i've been selling in PM & above $500 it goes directly to their HQ but today i made a sale & it goes directly to the buyer which is really strange and i don't like it. For my peace of mind, i've reached out to PM, if they don't respond i will cancel the transaction & pull out my stuff at PM. Thanks again this video is helpful for both seller/ buyer at PM.
Thank you for watching. That's definitely a plus when a video is helpful. Yea, I was really annoyed. However, I truly believed the bag is authentic. The seller was very attentive and she had the original receipt and all tags attached. But Poshmark was responsible for guaranteeing it's authenticity because that's what they advertise. I wanted it in writing. They sent me an email after doing a half ass authentication by photo. But I have the email so if down the road I attempt to sell it and it's deemed fake (I doubt it), I will deal with PM. I wont buy luxury on there again.
I hate the authentication; it should be up to the buyer to want this or not. I purchase a particular brand many many many times and always have item authenticated via the photos. The online authenticated I use any purchase is also known by the brand as legit. It should be the buyer who makes the decision and not some 3rd party app who is holding your item you already paid. If buyer clicks off accept or decline authentication and chooses declines then this releases PM and the buyer. The item I purchased had no indication there would be authentication.
@@freckles2720 I think it’s important to authenticate any luxury item but I agree it should be up to the buyer. I don’t feel comfortable with photo authentication. There are important details that I think can only be determined by touching the leather and feeling the weight of the hardware etc… details that I think can only be seen in person. Thank you for watching 🙏🏼💙☺️
@@camiscloset2369 I belong to a group of legit authenticators. The actual vendor of the product I purchased is well aware of who my authenticators are and rely on my authenticators for their expertise. I still call BS on this process and it should be up to the buyer to click on yes or no a for authentication removing liabilities from the buyer and PM. Buyer pays for item it no longer belongs to the seller nor PM.
Hi! I believe they would have to prove that they are not as described. I was on the receiving end. I purchased the bag and it was sent directly to me without being authenticated. I believed it was authentic but I wanted insurance. That should have been stated in the description if they are not going to authenticate it. I went back and forth with Poshmark because I was not accepting that without a letter from them that they guarantee it's authenticity. If your buyer is ok without them being authenticated and it said in the purple that they will do free authentication, then she may address that. She may not care. Hope that was helpful:)
Ok here’s a tip I learned from UA-cam tutorials, if you set up your camera in front of a big window and use sunlight, it will provide a good source of natural light for your videos!!! Play around with it!
I was in the basement literally hiding. No natural light down there. I have to do the videos when all 4 (hubby, boys and dog ) are still sleeping like 7am so I can be in my dining room or living room. A lot of light in there. Thank you!!
Hi, and thanks for watching. I sold an item that was authenticated by them. That's how it should be for anyone. It protects both the seller and buyer. 😀
Shoot! Now I’m hesitating to purchase anything on I was also thinking that you can send photo of authentic bag and sell the same one fake! That is possible. What a awful world !
Hi, yes, anything is possible. I still have the bag and I believe it's authentic. I love it but I don't often buy pre owned. If so I stick to Fashionphile. TFW
Hi! I do not like the way they handled my case. They looked at photos that I sent and determined that it was authentic. That’s impossible to do in my opinion. But if they were going to get the item first as they are supposed to, then I would hope they have employees that are well trained in authentication. And I would feel more confident. Even authenticators from Fashionphile can make mistakes. They’re only human. But I only buy luxury from there now because they will take the item back if it does not pass inspection somewhere else. The only 100% guarantee is buying directly from a boutique or authorized dealer. Hope this was helpful. Thank you for watching. 😊
great video Cami - I would prob send pics to real authentication and have them authenticate it. I know you prefer in person, but if they say it's authentic paired with your own in person evaluation I would keep the bag:).
Oh wow, this was one of my first videos! Thanks for checking it out. Honestly, I'm not really concerned about it. I know everything can be falsified but I have the receipt and it was fully tagged, and I compared it inch by inch to my other one so...but I may have it checked out down the road.

I recently had a horrible experience with Poshmark, the Canadian site. I purchased a Valentino bag that was over $700 and it went for authentication. I made the purchase on February 9th. I got the bag on March 5th in mail. So the authentication process took almost a month. During the time they kept sending me generic messages saying authentication will be processed in 3 business days. On the 3rd day they would send me the same message asking for 3 more days. I got the same message 4 times in a row. I tried contacting them several times and they just kept promising they will send it shortly. It got to a point that I really though they had lost the bag. I even contacted my credit card company and they said that I could go ahead and file a dispute because it didn’t look like I was going to get the bag. So that will be my last purchase from Poshmark and I have cancelled my account so I won’t be tempted yo buy any from them again! The customer service is just beyond terrible.
@@pouneh111 Yes their customer service is horrible. Only through email can you contact them which is frustrating. I sell on there but I will not buy off of there anymore. Thank you so much for watching!
