I had someone purposely damage an item I sold on Poshmark. And Poshmark took their word for it. I haven't sold anything there since then. Five years ago. I was in shock and traumatized by the whole experience. 🤷
They have to take a side at the end of the day and it’s much easier for them to just side with the buyer. I really wish these platforms (especially Poshmark it seems) would do a better job looking at the case and details of the sold goods. I have only had good experience with eBay, especially when they had to step in for me.
@@CatherineR Yes, that's unfortunate. They really didn't realize the buyer was completely dishonest. After the buyer sent my $500 bag back. ( After she damaged it and stole PCs off of it. They offered me $80 credit, and said to me, and I quote "Do you want it or not".
Thank you for your sharing your experience. I have purchased a couple of non lux items through Poshmark but I have never returned anything. It sounds so stressful the return process because of the very limited time frame for returning. Sorry you went through all of that.
So thanks for your video. I am no longer buying bags on Poshmark. I don’t buy 1K plus bags on PM but I have purchased 2 mid range lux bags. Today, I now am stopping buying bags on PM. I also will not sell my Lux items. Both times I have bought bags, they are both not authentic. 1st time it was very obvious as it was listed as leather and the inside tag stated it was “all man made synthetic materials”. 2nd time I purchased a designer bag, received it any it’s everything the designer states to watch out for as a fake. So I’m done. No more. That being said PM has refunded me but it’s not worth the hassle. The reason I bring this up is because even though my purchases are not super high end Lux mid range Lux is still expensive and there authentication requirement. But $200 is $200. The worst part is I actually don’t think the seller meant to sell me something not authentic. I don’t believe she was trying to dupe me. I am 90% sure she bought it 2nd hand and chose to resell it. It appears Mid range Lux gets recirculated a lot on PM from what I have found. I actually like the seller and other items she sells. I felt bad asking for my money back but I won’t use it and I ethically I won’t resell it and I can’t afford to be out $200. I purchased another bag from her again Mid range Lux. I won’t resell it, even though it’s not authentic either I really like it and I paid $60 for it. So once I am done with it, I will donate it. Also note about the seller she doesn’t sell a lot of Lux so you can tell she doesn’t know much about it. She didn’t even refuse or fight the return on the transaction, she just really wanted to make it right. I will still keep selling on buying on PM but this girl is only buying new from authorized retailers and direct from the designer from now on.
When I first filmed this video I honestly didn’t expect it to get this many views and comments.. I am sorry for your disappointing experience on Poshmark! You have to pay more for authenticated resellers but I now really do believe it’s for a reason. I haven’t really shopped on eBay or Poshmark since I’ve filmed my videos for both for that reason, I really hope they improve their process, because their quality control doesn’t even match to eBay while they take higher fees from the sellers.
Buyers are also out there to get you by not accepting orders when the let items sit at the post office for 9 days. Then the buyer said that one of the items I shipped broken and I believe she did that to distract the case I opened because she was not picking up the order . This is very bad because the order sits there and the buyer doesn’t care if they accept the order. It is very rude and irresponsible. The buyer did this to another seller too. I really hope that they don’t allow people to use addresses that are not deliverable and to keep track of cases under their profile.
Hi, I am a seller on PM, and I am trying to sell jewelry, but for some reason, customers have been asking me to send them photos to their emails because my photos weren't showing up on the website which makes me suspicious. I can't handle long methods to list an item, so I want to stick with thrift selling apps
I am sorry you had a negative experience with Poshmark. I have been a seller for five years, as well as a buyer, and have not had that king of experience. I DO NOT purchase luxury items on Poshmark. But, I would probably feel the same way.
I never had a bad experience with Poshmark as a seller which is why I’m so disappointed with how they treated me as a buyer. Lesson learned I guess 🤦🏻♀️
I got a recycled plastic hand bag i love them. Lily bloom is the brand. I loved this certain turtle 🐢 design. Had a great seller i love my purse. I dont like these luxury bags. I rather I have $ 40 or 50 handbags instead i be afraid I be robbed with these expensive bags. I never understood Louis bags and Gucci back in day 80's spend 250.00 or 500.00 on a handbag.
Sorry about your unsuccessful purchase... When I was returning my purchase recently, I also received the same 2nd email that I need to sent my item back, however it already started tracking etc. I replied to the email and they said yeah that's fine but it also was very stressful. Probably the system is not checking if tracking started and sends emails just because :D My issue with the item was that I received the wrong bag size. In the listing seller said the size was small, however the bag came size medium.(Loewe puzzle bag) And then after I received it, it was a whole week of back and forth as I was sending pictures to customer support with the ruler next to the bag. And they always were saying like, Send picture like that, send picture like that. Just no actual instructions of how to make a good picture, just I was redoing it for 3 times and I was waiting for resolution in couple days after submitting photos. So it was a whole week till the issue was resolved and I could prove my point. And it is insane because it literally went through their review. And they didn't see that the size was wrong. That is hilarious. I received my money back, however was not offered with any credits over my refund. I mean, for the hustle and time waisted really I don't know... Overall I let go this situation and I am fine, just saying. But impression is so-so. Good deals but could be potential issues. Thanks for your videos! Always enjoy watching your reviews :)
Aww first of all thank you for being a long time subscriber! It is definitely ridiculous that they made you jump through so many hoops to prove that it was the wrong size? Like come on guys.. this should have been caught at your headquarters. it really seems that their authentication program is crap at best - eBay really as their stuff together, and never did I once have a bad experience buying on eBay.... This really left bad taste in my mouth, I'm done with Poshmark. Shame on them!!!
I just listed my first item with Poshmark it's not even showing up in my closet and every time I try to list more I get an error message. I just don't understand. Am I wasting my time?
Hm I never had this issue before. Have you reached out to their support team? I personally had a better luck selling on eBay but I’ve only really sold luxury handbags. For smaller items such as clothing Poshmark has been better. Whatever you choose to do, good luck!
I’ve been selling on Poshmark for years and you won’t believe the amount of buyers purposely damaging items to get their refund. I’m glad that Poshmark doesn’t simply side with the buyer. As Poshmark buyer I was scammed when I got fake luxury bags bundle.
I have found this over and over again. The quality is not as described. Most recently I had a Lux bag folded to fit in a box. I’m currently trying to get a return on that. They also offered me a credit which I immediately declined. Question, when you had to ship the bag back, it went to the seller direct and not to posh first?
Hi! I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. If I’m not mistaken it was shipped directly to the seller and as soon as the package was marked delivered the refund was in progress. Hope this helps!
@@CatherineR thanks for the reply. This was my concern. I don’t want them to have my address because we live extremely close. I guess I’ll have to contact the posh team about it.
I just had not one. Not two. But THREE purchase cancellations from my closet just from February alone. All listed as “accidental purchases” it’s frustrating as a seller who’s trying to make extra money on the side & im about this close 👌 to giving up on Poshmark altogether.
Ugh man I’m so sorry to hear this! I never had any bad experience as a seller but I can only imagine. Looks like Poshmark has been disappointing to both sellers and buyers recently
@@CatherineRSorry I just saw your reply after coming back to this. As an update too, I just had my FOURTH order cancellation as well. The worst part? It was from a person who bundled multiple listings in my closet, purchased it, then cancelled it before the 3 hour limit right after I had packaged it. When I tried messaging them about went wrong, I got a notif saying I couldn’t message the buyer, meaning she blocked me. I’m about at the end of the road here.
@@DarkUrgesandBlackRoses Hello there, seller. Just a heads up, it wasn't the buyer who called off the purchase-it was Poshmark. Seems they're bailing out on honoring the $10 referral. They axed my order over that, so we tried opening another account under my wife's name with the $10 referral, but Poshmark still canned it despite verifying payment. Third time we opened an account sans referral, and surprise, surprise, the purchase stuck. Definitely steering clear of Poshmark from now on.
Right now im going thru with them a so called quest of theirs got a pair of my handmade earrings for nothing. I mailed them out told poshmark of sending them and poshmark canceled my order now this person got my item for free. Uggg closing my closet never had problems with Facebook marketplace maybe will try mercari?
I know! They take 20% off of all transactions (unless it’s a transaction that’s below $10 or something) and they have gotten so much money from everything I’ve sold on there, and I still get this type of a treatment 🤦🏻♀️ world of difference from eBay.

just wondering did you stay on Poshmark and also how have your sales been?
I am still on Poshmark but I haven’t posted anything else new on it. And I’m definitely NOT shopping on it anymore!
Poshmark selling process is not a good experience lately.
Both selling/buying experiences have been horrible it seems for so many people! Sorry to hear that.

I would consider those customers scammers. They want a way to contact you outside of Poshmark!
@dxmxrxsbxxckthxwxxdxlf3931 These are 100% scammers. Report them through Poshmark. Do not contact them outside of Poshmark.

Does Poshmark verify a sellers bank account info? Seems so scammy. I thought payment goes through PayPal?
I’m not sure if they do. I think they take credit card payments as well. They really need to put policies like eBay in place to protect the buyers!
