DO NOT GET "UPGRADED" COIL PACKS. The oem ones are fine. Upgraded ones usually cause more issues then they are worth. It's more a grounding issue then coil pack
@@tredfxman I haven't heard about those ones before. I would just keep any eye out to see if you have any spark issues. I would look at getting better grounding to help with the ignition system.
I’m a VW tech, and there’s probably only 2 engines I love - 2.5 5 cylinder ( N/A ) since it’s bulletproof, and the Mk7 GTI engine. It really is reliable, much more than the mk6. You take care of it; and it’ll take care of you. I’m at 110k miles and I haven’t had much issues at all.
With that being said, don’t cheap out on certain things like spark plugs, don’t waste money on ignition coils, and cut your service intervals in half. ( all of them ) there’s no timing interval like the mk6. Just have it annually inspected for any chain stretch. Plenty of guys going over 150 plus with no timing job
I put a high flow filter and that’s it lol 😂 it’s fine the way it is 7.5 is great and I have the best brakes ever I mean I can stop when driving fast or on curves down hill lol 😂 for stock brakes I am impressed
MK7.5 GTI S 6spd - fifteen52 Podium in Frosted Graphite - MBRP Exhaust - Racingline full intake with Turbo 90 Inlet - Racingline VWR Springs (Saving for coils) - IE Stage 1 tune (Saving for a clutch that can take more power) With a little more power and suspension mods to come!
I watched this before I got my 3rd vw (mk7.5 GTI Rabbit edition) I laughed when you said you never leave unless you go to a Porsche. And the rarity thing is so true too. I hate to admit it 😂 but I do alot of that dumb shit like I know what factory my mk2 gti came from and what dealer it was first sold from. 😅
@@Laserduckyz the plan is to never sell it I'm going to dump another 20 k into it Go stage 2 or 3 and use it as a daily driver and just get a Porsche GT3 for weekends and track days.
Shoot, don’t stress me out like that. My gti has a intake, exhaust and a downpipe waiting to be fitted, but no tune yet…. I should start thinking about that😭
Nothing bad happens. You’ll be okay. I ran a DP without a tune for a year. Car runs just fine. Tune though really wakes up the car and completely transforms it.

This is true, running 34 psi of boost with OEM coils, instead of upgraded coils will recommend a grounding kit, that can avoid future problems.
Had apr coilpacks and the crapped out at 20k I'm now running rs3 coilpacks definitely more oem++
@@scottroberts5529 You do know those are exactly the same as the ones on a GTI or Golf R right?
@@Christian3522Just switched to Bremi ones from Germany, any opinion?

I’m at 162,000 miles in my golf R no problems at all
My GTI has the DSG and I don't know if I'm driving it properly in the city I hit the brakes fairly often
Do you have the same love for its transmission?
What about the 1.8t? Just got into my first VW and it's a MK4 . All I could afford at the moment lol. Any tips?
Me as a mk7.5 golf R owner a lot of stuff still applies 😂 but the amount of Golf R’s in this video is kinda funny 😂🔥

How do the springs ride compared to stock. I’m in the market for suspension but don’t have the budget for coils
@@adder6678lil stiffer, like halfway between stock and slammed on coils.
Also just picked up a 2005 Legacy GT Wagon so would love to see an episode on 4th Gen Legacy GT’s
