I also rebuilt an M30 engine this year, noticed that aftermarket sprocket has different offset. New one from BMW has the right offset. My engine is B34, you are building a B35?
Thanks for watching! This is a B34 engine in most areas, its a mix of parts, I will describe this later on. However, the sprocket should be the same between B34/B35, its same part number. The one I ordered is aftermarket, so lets see what I end up with... /Mats
