I find it hard to want to buy parts I'm going to glue(paddle shifters) or tape(spoiler) onto my car. I bought a nice replacement set of paddle shifters that are a complete replacement. I honestly think that's the better way to go and it gets rid of those crappy plastic OEM paddles altogether. To each their own guess since the ones I bought were about 180 so they were a little pricey. But I completely agree on those BEC headlights. I've been sitting on them for a while but I might pull the trigger and just order them after Christmas.
See if you can return those paddles. They have $30 ones that are 99.9999% exactly like those expensive ones. Humble mechanic did a vid on those and so did I. Direct replacement
@@LucasHuang Nah too late for that. Had em for over a year now. But I like the look they have and I also have not been able to find the same ones I bought anywhere so I guess they're unique? Love your videos btw. I just subbed!
When buying Headlights for the MK 7 2015, which do you recommend from AliExpress? And do you buy (1) or (2) in the qty section? How do they differentiate between left and right?
I have the AliExpress carbon mirror caps, they look great and fit perfectly. I'm 99% sure the more expensive ones are made of the same stuff and come from China also, so why pay like 10x the cost?
Interesting. I have them on my wagon and had the opposite experience. Mine have a very uneven weave pattern, imperfections in the clear coat and they sort of come loose after spirited driving. I have to gently push them back into place every once in a while. 90% of people wouldn't notice but I guess I'm picky. They did give me a 50% refund, so there's that at least.
Something to note regarding the auto-folding mirrors is that the Chinese ones are not compatible with the Driver Assistance Package (at least that's what I've gathered for mk7.5 owners. Not sure if it's the same for mk7.)
I wanna order the wing before a car show in July, but is Aliexpress trustworthy, quality of product and mainly, will it be what I ordered and not some wing that’s like 6 inches long. Haha
hey everyone, just wanted to see your guys' thoughts. i've been wanting to do some mods to my 2017 mk7 gti. i've been told by some people to NOT, NO, NEVER EVER mod this car, even software tuning cause i'm just gonna get check engine lights forever, problems with other parts, etc etc. Now my question is...what types of "beginner" mods that CAN i do to my gti that will make it sound better(not crazy loud/drony, but a little more boost sound) and make it a little bit quicker/faster without like, voiding the warranty or causing problems with other parts or engine down the road. ty in advance
I've never heard this. SO many people mod this exact car. I know its 9 months later but did you end up doing any mods? The only thing I've heard of causing the check engine light to come on is replacing the downpipe before you go to stage 2 tune.
I just got a 2018 Golf S (I think it’s base model) and I’m literally new to this world. Like yesterday new haha It’s been hard to find mods and I’m wondering if other higher trims mods work on my base model?
@@SilentCanary just got a Golf S too and I am watching mod videos to make it look a bit less poverty spec 🤣 it’s my first car and I got a really great deal for it from a family member so I couldn’t pass lol what mods did you end up getting? Thanks
Lucas, doing my first mods soon. Already Got a maperformance catted/ceramic coated dp, and waiting on a hs tuning rsr w/sachs flywheel (coming friday) Im Debating tunes at the moment. As pure anecdotal advise, what would you suggest to pair with it, unitronic stage 2 (overrun of course)...or pro tuned stratified? Im also debating waiting on the tune and getting charge pipes and a vacuum actuated exhaust cut out to have the availability of driving "straight piped" AND stock exhaust quiet mode at the flip of a switch. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks for the extra hp btw been subbed for a while, i knew i made some gains when i did haha💪💪💪
I'd personally do with stratified if you're going with the Cobb AP. More flexibility and you can even resell it later on. It's also been said unitronic is more "reliable" cause it doesn't abuse your turbo as much nor give that much power compared to the other tunes so that's also something to keep in mind. And TBH all the charge pipe shit is useless just get a downpipe with stock exhaust of you want comfort but also loud wot
@@LucasHuang i appreciate ya man, stratified seems to be very popular (im sure for good reason) Curious as to why you say uni is more reliable/but less power. They tout 330ish hp and 370tq (which seems to be on par with apr and some other stage 2 flashes) Oh okay Heard that on the charge pipes. Neuspeed put their airflow differences up on the site, it is a significant amount of more air passable but i get that it probably doesnt equate to noticable gains. Still wanna do that exaust cut out, i dont know why but having a switch that channels the exhaust from stock catback, to opening up straight after the downpipe is massively appealing. Especially if im gonna be poppin. Your vids where you were scaring the piss out of people had me laaaaaughin
@@dudemcdudeston7985 unitronic is at the crank, not wheel, horsepower. Most tuner (Cobb tunes) graphs you see are Dyno so they're to the wheels which is more accurate of what the car is actually putting down.
@@dudemcdudeston7985 Uni is said to use more fuel timing to get more power whereas APR would just put more lbs of boost. Which would in turn blow your turbo eventually so people like to say Uni is more "reliable"
you called the Osram full LEDs expensive...? OEM is expensive. Full LED swap ins for $800 is almost free. The 7.5 LED headlights cost like 2-3 thousand..

When ordering off AliExpress is quantity 1 or 2 for the Headlights/Taillights respectively

What about front bumper spoilers or canards? Rear diffuser, something else that would be cool to add.

It's more weight savings when they have less money in their pockets

The digital boost gauge is a waste of money. Im running the evo gauge and its more accurate as it doesn't just pull data from the obd2 port.
