I have a mk6 gti and I was looking at the König Ampliform but I decided that the Neuspeed rse12 was a better option for a few reasons. The first is that the rse12 are lighter this less rotational mass. The second is that the rse12 have a bore size of 57.1 which directly matches with the gti so I don’t have to do any extra stuff for them to work and won’t have to deal with vibrations. I wish you guys sold Neuspeed because they make more direct matches with Volkswagen and Audi vehicles than a lot of other brands.

I like the car but after I sell it I will not buy another German car unless I'm making a significant amount more than I do now (well actually I make almost nothing now because I left my old job for a multitude of reasons).
DSG is a beast with a tune. I'm Stage 2 with EQT and their DSG tune and it's perfect. Aftermarket manual clutches on these can be hit or miss and the "best one" depends on your needs. If you never want to go above a Stage 2, you can make a TTRS clutch work for a stock like driving experience. Otherwise you're swapping to single mass flywheel life and you're gonna have to deal with some driveline chatter. Plus you run a higher risk of thrust bearing wear with aftermarket clutches. I won't blame anyone for getting a manual MK7, but it's simply a case of choosing one of the best affordable automatic in the world that takes to mods easily or a wholly mediocre manual that needs some work to handle mods. I daily my DSG and I'm looking for a manual weekend car. Best of both worlds.
A southbend stage 2 or 3 clutch will handle whatever you'd like to do, last a long time, and be easy to daily drive. I've heard nothing but horror stories about the "weak manuals" and "faster dsg" but I smile from ear to ear every time I rip through the canyons in my 6mt GTI. No complaints here. The DSG is amazing but I enjoy rowing my own gears. To each their own, we're lucky to have so many options.

Try replacing the clips wherever you hear it rattling. I went through and installed an entire SQ-style system in my car and nothing rattles whatsoever. I didn't use any sound deadening or anything, just the stock door panels with a couple new clips in a few places.
PSA: Do NOT trust those Cobb OTS tunes, or the majority of FREE ones out there. They've been known to blow some motors. Spend the 150-200 bucks for a proper one, just a simple "stage 1" will net you nearly 300whp in a lot of cases and around 350lb/ft at the wheels.
@@hendawg3048 proper for an OTS, I should say. Companies develop their tunes with a shop car and can mass market the same file for cheaper. They also benefit from the large amounts of input and feedback they get from their customer base. The tolerances of these motors are known to be very consistent from one to another, making it fairly safe to grab a well-developed OTS file and slap it on your car. Of course, there's different requirements for each stage and often times there will be different files for that stage (such as if you have an upgraded HPFP vs. Stock for a Stage 2 file), but unless you're going big turbo a custom tune really isn't all that necessary with these cars unless you're tuning for something specific like MPI or WMI. A couple reputable companies would be Equilibrium Tuning, Integrated Engineering, APR, as well as others.
@@hendawg3048 Not what I said at all, but ok. Sorry for trying to be comprehensive. Lemme slow it down: go to site, check boxes for any major modifications you might have (i.e. HPFP), click order, then expect your tune within a couple days. Not custom, no logs or dyno time. Hope it helps.
Daily drive a 2020 GTI that's Stage 2 EQT tuned on Ampliforms lol. Video is pretty much spot on, except APR is overrated. There's nothing they sell anymore that another company doesn't offer a better version of, usually at a lower price. They don't sell downpipes or Stage 2 tunes anymore either. Also the AP is great, but use it to get another company's tune (like EQT) don't run Cobb's tunes. They're pretty mediocre and like to knock. MAPerformance isn't a popular company with MK7s. CTS and ARM downpipes are popular cheap options while IE and Trackslag are popular more premium downpipes. Intakes are a waste. Only buy one if you want choo-choo noises. Lastly a rear sway bar is the best upgrade for any FWD hot hatch. Get that back end rotating.

Disagree with the APR statement. Their Intercoolers, downpipes, coil packs, Catch Cans, are all the industry best. Their cold air intake does suck though. I'm on an EQT tune now, but I loved my APR stage 1&2 tunes. Zero check engine lights. The same cannot be said about my EQT experience.
@@deanmarr785 They don't make downpipes anymore and coil packs are worthless. OEM is best. DO88 is the favorite intercooler. Catch can is about the only thing they actually do the best. Everything else you can get just as good or better elsewhere, often for less money. Their tunes are fine. If you're getting a CEL on EQT you probably need to use better gas. I get knock with Kroger gas, none when I got to Shell. That's the price of having a more aggressive tune.
@@clutchthepearls3062 Please spare me your advice. You could not be more wrong about the intercooler and coil packs. I'm one of the lucky guys that has an APR downpipe. Please don't diagnose my tune issues over the internet. You know nothing about my setup or car. You have had your car a whole year and are telling me what is wrong? Run along now and mind your own business.
What about it? The MK6 is also a good car but has a few other quirks to look for. The body panels are a little thinner on the MK6 which means that proper fitment is going to be a little more important so you do not damage your wheel wells. The MK6 also has the ea888.1 engine, not the ea888.3. The Gen 1 engine was known early on to have timing chain issues due to the tensioner. If you buy (or have bought) a MK6 GTI...have someone inspect the tensioner to make sure it was replaced with the revised version. Aside from that...everything else is about the same, and there are still a lot of performance parts available for the Gen 1 2.0T engine.

I believe they now carry some Neuspeed wheels.
Y’all need to do this for the MK6 Jetta
just so you know, that pink ford escort with the rotiform aerodiscs is currently for sale in the UK

*Cobb redline carbon fiber intake
*ECS Downpipe & exhaust

*CTS Radiator
*Southbend Stage 3 Endurance clutch
*Apr Catch Can
*ECS Short shift kit
*Black forest industries Weighted shift knob

Should I get a manual or DSG GTI? Which clutch of them can handle more torque ?
For more torque/power and such DSG, but for more FUN the manual 👀 -Edgar
DSG is better for power
As a DSG owner I would get the DSG, they can handle a ton of torque and with a transmission tune shift way faster than the manual can
DSG is a beast with a tune.
Didn’t have the money for a GTI but needed a new car so I just got a TSI and tbh I want to modify it but it seems hard to find perfect fits for it because everything I look for always says it does not fit my vehicle so now I’m just starting to think if it’s even worth modifying it

Don't sleep on a front sway bar! The rear sway bar upgrade is great, but the front does wonders as well. If you own an early model non-performance package gti consider an lsd! The two bars and the lsd do some crazy work for me at the track whether stock power or tuned.

This is good to know! -Edgar
What proper tune is 150-200 bucks?? lol
@@SPLICER21PS3 Thats a lot of words just to say custom tune..Thx
@@hendawg3048 Not what I said at all, but ok. Sorry for trying to be comprehensive. Lemme slow it down: go to site, check boxes for any major modifications you might have (i.e. HPFP), click order, then expect your tune within a couple days. Not custom, no logs or dyno time. Hope it helps.
Alright let’s see what applies to my diesel :)
380WHP in mine and no regrets......yet lol
Would this rules apply to a mk7 TDI?????!
It could yes! Not all of it, but a bunch of stuff. -Edgar
Replacing them diamond stich seat for aftermarket should be a crime
A lot of good OEM seats usually.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it fam 🙂 any other plans for it? If you haven’t already do, make sure to add it to the gallery and show it off! -Edgar
www.fitmentindustries.com/add-wheel-offset
@@deanmarr785 What a tool. Even your own tuner recommends stock coils, but nah...you're too smart for that.

Do a mk6
Wow houw did y'all know I just bought a MK7
👁👁👁 -Edgar
What about the mk6
Besides it being bubbly, you can always do something similar! Anything specific you're wanting to do? -Edgar
