My Attempt at Healthy Stoveless Resupply Boxes (CDT)

- Soon I'm starting a southbound thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail, heading southbound from Glacier National Park. I tried to put together some healthier resupplies than in the past, and I include recipes and an example of everything that will go into one of my boxes.
I'm cold-soaking this trip, but the dinners can absolutely still be heated up on a stove. They are mostly gluten-free, and can very easily be made vegetarian or vegan.

I really appreciate this vidoe and hope to see more like this ... or feedback on how you like the various foods. This is a much neglected topic.
Thank you for the excellent ideas! Good luck on your hike 😁
Thank you!
This is great - thank you for sharing.
Wow thanks for the awesome ideas!
go get it, bud
This is so refreshing to see. You know what you’re doing with those supplements, especially the curcumin. Fabulous and inspiring 😊
Hi Lotus, it's Piper. Congratulations on finishing the trail! I'd also love to see some trail videos from the CDT and also would be interested to know how this food you sent worked out for you, and if sending boxes was something you would do again. I did not realize you sent yourself food. That explains how you could relax and eat lots of food in town while I was running around shopping all the time. I'm going to try sending myself food on the Arizona Trail this spring instead of shopping in tiny towns. Those tiny towns in Idaho had no electrolytes and I got pretty sick and had to go home.
Hi Piper, so great to hear from you! It was so great to share so many miles with you in Montana/Idaho. I only sent out 7 boxes total, but they definitely did help to supplement-especially in Lima, Leadore and Pie Town. The only issue that I had was I became sick of most of the bars that I had included in all of my boxes. My advice if you tend to get sick of items on repeat, would be to switch up what's in every box, especially if you're doing boxes for the entirety of your hike. Also, let me know when you're in Flagstaff on the AZT- I'd be happy to host you!!
@@tessmullaney Oh wow thank you!
sure would love to see some trail videos of your CDT journey, now that I know you finished! my favorite hike videos are the ones where it was a success :)
Thank you, Thank you. Reinforced some recipes I previously learned and added a lot of new stuff. What is name of cat that is trying to help you?
Ezra, aka The Fluff or fluffytail 😸
Love this, good luck on this new adventure!!
I appreciate it!!
I didn’t know they made little olive oil packets! That’s so cool, that would be great for camping too
I haven't seen a healthier better resupply setup anywhere....❤
Good job bro ❤....
How did you feel eating this healthy on trail?
I got very sick of the smoothies after maybe 2 weeks so never really used those unfortunately. And town stops ended up being just as unhealthy as usual. But I do think taking supplements regularly made a huge difference!
Why did put each category (breakfast, dinner, snacks) in separate boxes?
That's not how I sent the boxes, I think I did that just to organize while I was making certain meals
Life is too short to cold soak.
