IMPO, a really solid and busy week for once.
BOTW: "Human" (really nice and relatable, I like it even more than "'Til You Can't").
HM (tie): "Heart To Heart", "Vibe", "On Wat U On" and "Shakira: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53".
WOTW: "King Snipe" (could it be anything else, especially when Kodak Black is at his worst here).
So, is regional Mexican going to become a trend? That seems kind of random but it's a great genre so I'm happy about that
Oh shakira is going to stay so don’t forget about that song for now.
I'm with Mark. Who the hell would cheat on SHAKIRA?!
Nah flowers captures that chill summer feeling
Too boring
@@Jollyjose251 it’s viby
Wtf 2 newjeans songs
WOTW: King Snipe- So we are letting Kodak Black still be a thing in 2023, great
DM1: Heart to Heart- This sounds very boring, but still congrats to Mac DeMarco charting
DM2: Nonsense- There are so much more better songs from Sabrina new album, this one is not one them, this ones sucks.
DM3: On Wat u On- Boring
HM1: OMG- Not as great as Ditto but it's ok
BOTW1: Human- Texas Country at it's finest, love this
BOTW2: Vibe- Oooooo, this is good
BOTW3: BZRP Music Session Vol. 53- I love this, Shakira doing a break up song, Also F*** Pique, Really A 22 year old?, Dude ewww
BOTW4: Flowers- YES, MILEY IS BACK AND I LOVE THIS
very Busy week this week
Next Week, the fallout
I will never understand how Kodak Black made it past 2017.
I guess people are almost exclusively listening to throwbacks or songs from other years now.
WOTW: Gucci Mane & Kodak Black - King Snipe
DM: Miley Cyrus - Flowers
DM: Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense
BOTW: Cody Johnson - Human

Overall January 2023 is not good for the Hot 100.
I agree that “Human” is really good… except for the one qualm I have, and that’s the use of the word “g*psy” prominently in the chorus. Surprised you didn’t mention that. The use of that term despite it now being more widely accepted to be a slur adds some discomfort to what is otherwise a really lovely song.
Wait, gypsy is a slur? How so?
@@TheBlackPanther05 Mainly because it’s associated with offensive stereotypes about Roma people. It’s not quite on the same level as something like the N-word, in that some Roma people accept or embrace the term, but most find it offensive and prefer not to be called that.
A good quote on usage of the word from Merriam-Webster:
“Though still frequently encountered in English, use of the term Gypsy to refer to Roma people or their language is increasingly regarded as offensive because of negative stereotypes associated with that term. Although Gypsy is sometimes used as a neutral or positive self-descriptor, it is recommended that those for whom it is not a self-descriptor use Roma or Romani/Romany instead. Other uses of gypsy are also increasingly understood as offensive, including the general ‘wanderer’ meaning of the noun and the related meaning of the verb gypsy, as well as compound terms, such as gypsy moth and gypsy cab.”
@@TheBlackPanther05 Also worth noting: the term “getting g*pped” is in the same boat. That term is derived from the word “G*psy” and stereotypes about Roma people being untrustworthy liars and thieves.
@@Eryncerise Oh I understand thank you
Doing this for fun, send me any song released in 2022 or 2023 for me to check out :)
I suggest the song 'Weol' by from20
"Gasoline" by Måneskin
OG Keemo - 2009
Feel My Rhythm by Red Velvet
Ditto by NewJeans
In My Dreams by Red Velvet
Young Luv by StayC
Yah Know by Chance The Rapper and King Promise. It's such a banger!
Bizarrap is allergic to actual song titles
a couple of my hot takes:
- GOSSIP by Måneskin is severely overhyped. It’s not awful but at the same time it’s just decent at best. Unlike…
- golden hour by JVKE. I’m sorry, but it’s bad. I usually like songs like it but unfortunately I really can’t get into it at all
- Do It To It by ACRAZE is great! Yeah, it’s shrunk on me since it’s release but it’s nowhere near as bad as people say it is, even if Believe is slightly better
- Gimme is overhated. Sure, it can get slightly annoying, but it’s far better than Unholy.
Disagreed on Golden Hour and Do It To It
Nonsense definitely took a few listens to grow on me, but I’ve grown to love how hilarious it is. It makes more sense within the album in my opinion, acting as a breath of humor against the more emotional themes the album presents. Definitely check out the whole album - it’s her best work by far.
Botw: Flowers
HM: Omg
HM2: Music sessions vol 53
DHM: On what u on

@Magic Micah 05 I do! But it's not as good for it to be a masterpiece tho.
@@autisticmusicloverking I definitely get that
Why is Sabrina Carpenter on the charts again...
It's January
Because her song is catchy af lol
TikTok
Wait wasn't the flowers chrosu supposed to be a flip of when I was your man
Yes. The instrumental I believe tho is still a sample of I Will Survive.
SO happy for Miley! It may have taken almost a decade, but she's finally got her second number one hit!
And if you needed any more proof that RCA doesn't know how to do proper promotion...well, here it is, because moving to Columbia has clearly paid off for her in SPADES. I only hope that SZA--who is currently an RCA artist herself--doesn't find "Kill Bill" losing too much because of it.
is is me or is miley cyrus' "flowers" just a watered down version of her other song "midnight sky"?
I might not be able to comment from the next week 'cause I'm studying abroad in Australia from today to April 2nd. (I'm Japanese and I wanna have a good command of English.)

@Sonny Oliver Cortez 'Kill Bill' should be confirming its Year-End position by as soon as next week! I wouldn't even rule out a Top 10 finish with how many weeks it spent in the runner-up position & how well SZA's album is performing. :)

*"Heart To Heart" is so relaxing. The fact that this song is about Mac Miller and his laugh at the end of the song make me emotional. I really like it. It made my playlist called "YNG's 2023"
*"Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" is decent overall. The lyrics is good but doesn't match for the production I guess.
*At first "Vibe" isn't good but it grew on me. It's a pretty cool song.
*"Human" is decent imo. A little better than "Til You Can't".
*"On Wat U On" is also decent I think. The chemistry between Moneybagg Yo and GloRilla is good.
*"Omg" is just fine but I feel like NewJeans has a potential to make better songs. I don't know why I feel it tho.
*"Nonsense" is a bit boring but still fine. (I feel like it might shrink on me, which means it might get dishonorable mention later.)
*"Flowers" is overrated. The lyrics is not that good (not bad tho) and the production isn't enough to satisfying. However I like the vocal melody so overall it's mid. (It also might get dishonorable mention later.) Btw I feel like the chorus of this song is similar to the intro of "OMG What's Happening" by Ava Max.
*"King Snipe" is really bad. Kodak Black makes it worse.
How is On Wat U On a 6/10? That song is horrible!

On different music-related news that happened recently, here's my thoughts on this year's Oscars' Best Original Song nominees condensed into four or two or six words.
-Applause-Sofia Carlson and Diane Warren (Worst of the Bunch)
-Hold My Hand-Lady Gaga (Dishonorable Mention) (Note: This song is pretty good. This is a decent list.)
-Lift Me Up-Rihanna (Honorable Mention)
-Naatu Naatu-Rahuul Kaala Bhairava (The Middle by Jimmy Eat World)
-This Is A Life-Son Lux, Mitski, and David Byrne (Best of the Bunch)
Music is something kids love, and adults endure.
Megamind: No Stars In The Sky, Good Tonight, and Now You Know?
With the two family movies from April 2022 that's based on a pre-existing IP, had a scene where a fox that I know someone who's common in the comment section of music reviews is a fan of dances, and I saw a lot of people hoping they would do better than Morbius and Fantastic Beasts 3 in particular, don't worry you two. There's always the chance you two will get nominated at the only award show that matters, THE KIDS CHOICE AWARDS BABY!
Let's not kid ourselves, the only Oscar nominated movie that ever mattered is Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. And the only two Oscar nominated songs that ever mattered are Mean Green Mother From Outer Space and Man Or Muppet.
Now I have another reason to view I Ain't Worried and Vegas as a duo. Both of the movies they came from got a Best Picture nomination.
I want to talk about how when the Kids Choice Awards nominees get released, I'm definitely going talk about the nominees for Favorite Song and Favorite Music Collaboration. Except I won't just say what's a Best of the Bunch or what's a Dishonorable Mention. I'm gonna make mini reviews for all the songs. Me when I'm about to see this year's Kids Choice Awards nominees for the first time: ua-cam.com/video/4kK48Rq716Y/v-deo.html. Who else is excited to start saying "(Insert Best Picture Nominee Here) is a less important movie than Minions: The Rise of Gru?"
For those of you who want to say your thoughts on these songs the same way, and you're wondering, yes, BEST OF THE BUNCH and WORST OF THE BUNCH are things you can give. Though I don't anyone will dislike any of these songs enough to give it a WORST OF THE BUNCH.
No, Hold My Hand sucks.
@@jeremyusreevu237 I like it. The only reason I gave it the Dishonorable Mention™ is because of competition. And if you still think it's the Worst of the Bunch, go listen to Applause. The movie it came from doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.
I still wish they nominated one of the three songs Megamind mentioned instead though. Hell, I still prefer I Ain't Worried.
@@jeremyusreevu237 Agreed. It's a complete snoozefest.
@@anamelessyoutuber1462 I'm not saying it's the worst of the bunch. I just think it's really boring and bland and nothing.
Also, just heard Applause, yeah it's awful.
By the way, do you people think I should talk about the Favorite Movie and Favorite Animated Movie nominees too? I mean, those two along with Favorite Song and Favorite Music Collaboration are the only categories that are interesting to talk about. But at the same time, it would feel a bit forced, and the comment would already be long enough anyways. Not to mention, I don't think me admitting some of my opinions with those movies would end well. Let's just say that if you have a problem with me liking songs like I Ain't Worried and abcdefu, you're not ready for the movie opinions. I mean, I'm sure most of you would be fine with my Best of the Bunch picks on both sides. But there are other takes that I'm probably gonna get bullied for. I know with last year, it wouldn't have ended well considering my pick for a certain Best of the Bunch and both Honorable Mentions. Actually, would people have had a problem with my choice for the Honorable Mention with Favorite Movie last year, or not really since besides the obvious one that would get the Best of the Bunch from me and you would all agree with it, the reputation for the remaining movies range from decent to trash. That list must be pain if you're one of those "Marvel is killing cinema" people. And no, I'm not 14 or younger. I'm 20. When I watched Diamondbolt's 2022 movies livestream, I related to him so much during the parts when he was scarred to show the chat his thoughts on certain movies. You know, the parts when he was busy forgetting about The Black Phone, and I had to remind him. That's my legacy now. Or I might not talk about the movies because the songs are already enough.
The Chorus of Flowers is also a flip on the chorus of Bruno Mars' when I was your man, and there is a pretty popular tik tok that shows the similarities
Who do you guys predict will be releasing big albums this year?
Kid LAROI, Miley Cyrus, Paramore, Gorillaz, AJR.
Dua Lipa, Beyonce, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Tyler The Creator
One that I can name off the top of my head is Miley given how absolutely massive Flowers is right now
If Frank Ocean doesn’t drop this year im never listening to him ever again drop bro please😭😭😭😭
Olivia Rodrigo
Awesome to see Kill Bill and other SZA songs sticking around! :D

@@AquilaSky21 It did incredibly well to debut in what was my most competitive chart in about three months! We'll have to see if it can survive the clearout. :)
My recommendations!
- Heaven by Becky Hill: A really good rework of the original! The production is amazing and Becky absolutely shows it justice.
- I Go Dancing by Frank Walker & Ella Henderson: Yeah, this is great! The production reminds me a lot of Kygo, and Ella really helps complete this song. Absolute bop
- REACT by Switch Disco, Robert Miles & Ella Henderson: Ella’s been on a roll, and it’s not even a month into 2023! This samples Robert Miles’ song “Children”, and yeah, it’s great! Really catchy and a bop.
- Oh My by Luude, Issey Cross & Moby: Now, Down Under was easily my least favourite song of 2022, but wow, Luude improved heavily with Big City Life, and now this! The Porcelain-sampling production mixed with the drum and bass goes really well, especially with Issey’s incredible vocals! This actually might be better than Used To This for me 😳

its very sad but their last 2 albums were not very good so if im being honest i respect their decision
"Hey look ma I made it" sucked and it was well deserved.
1) I can't believe that Miley managed to get her first #1 hit in over a decade. She hasn't had a major hit, with staying power in the United States, in *so* long! 🤓👏
2) I wouldn't count "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" out. It's already doing *much* better than "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52" ever did!
3) NewJeans got a second hit so fast! If they keep this up, they might be able to help fill in the hole that BTS left when they went on hiatus.
4) I wasn't expecting Sabrina Carpenter to get a second hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It probably won't have as much staying power as 2021's "Skin", which peaked at #48 and left after only *3* weeks, but still! 🤷
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nonsense actually becoming quite big, considering it’s really taking off on radio and streaming now, and platforms besides Spotify are also starting to catch up. Good for her, I’ve been rooting for this song since it came out 👏
@@someoneelse4579 I second that Nonsense has definitely been on my playlist since it came out and I can really see this being her biggest hit to date we'll see how it goes
But the members of BTS are still making and releasing new music, it's just as soloists for the time being until they complete their mandatory military service. Even Jimin from BTS charted this week. And there is still plenty of new BTS content being released so in my opinion they didn't leave a hole that needs to be filled. I like NewJeans, but they shouldn't be looked at as a replacement for anyone. If anything I hope more kpop artists can make huge strides when it comes to the US charts. But if they do it should be on their own merits, not be because there is a kpop hole that needs to be filled.

Flowers is pretty much "Miley's House" especially since both Tyler Johnson and Kid Harpoon produced that track. I don't expect it to go away either given how massive its streaming and radio gains are. I'd also expect Skakira to stay within the top 40 given how well it's also doing on streaming and radio.

Remember how a few months ago, around the time of the Grammy nominees, I asked what you people would expect a music equivalent of the Razzies to look like? And remember how if I had to guess what they would nominate, one of them was a Worst Drop from Quality nomination for Machine Gun Kelly for going from Tickets to my Downfall to mainstreet sellout? Well a few days ago, the nominees for the real Razzies released, and I learned he starred in a movie that had the same Letterboxd average score as The Emoji Movie, and a lower average score than Cats (2019) and Jack and Jill. If I knew about this at the time, I would've had "Machine Gun Kelly (From Tickets to my Downfall to mainstreet sellout and Good Mourning)." Why doesn't the real Razzies have a "Worst Drop from Quality" category anyways? In all honesty, I don't know anyone they would've nominated for that category this year. (Nose grows.)
