Yeah, I don’t know how someone can see this as off-key (They’re seventh and diminished chords)… I’ll admit it’s kind of petty towards the end, but other than that, I don’t really agree with his takes at all, respectfully. So yeah, best of the week for me!
Mark must be having a rough day/week/year/life if he thinks Kali Uchis was the worst.

Is it mean that I want "I'm Good (Blue)" to go away? It reminds me of a late 2000s-early 2010s club song and NOT IN A GOOD WAY. If it was from that time, I wouldn't mind it, but something about it being from the 2020s irks me.

@@jeremyusreevu237 lol. Yeah, I don't like Bebe Rexha's performance at all. I remember liking some of her songs back in 2016-17, but hasn't impressed me in a while (although I'll admit "Baby, I'm Jealous" is a guilty pleasure 😬). Also, as Todd in the Shadows said, the sampling is so lazy. Flo Rida's "Sugar" made better use of that sample, IMHO.

IMPO, a kinda interesting but messy week and it's bit of a shame the new Fall Out Boy single didn't chart.
BOTW: "I Wish You Roses" (it's not as good as "Telepatia" and it will certainly make more sense as a deep cut, but I absolutely don't see what's so terrible about it).
HM: "Next Thing You Know" (really nice song, probably the most I've enjoyed a Jordan Davis single in a while).
DM: "Red" (nowhere near as pretentious as all Hardy's attempts at rock music, but my God, it's so hard to take this song seriously).
WOTW: "Gangsta Boo" (the last song from Ice Spice that needs to break through, just more clunky sample drill with lazy sampling and there's not a single reference to the late Three 6 Mafia member who passed away recently, it's basically "Doja" by Central Cee all over again without the controversial opening line but worse bass mixing, Ice Spice and Lil Tjay ironically aren't doing anything different here from what NLE Choppa did in his song titled with Ice Spice's name).

Song recommendation: 'Lose You' by Sam Smith
For a pretty simple dance track, this song is very sticky with a catchy groove, lovely atmosphere, and a very good chorus with very real lyrics regarding love and longing to keep that affection. Definitely hope it charts next week because it is a banger! :D

@@countyfacts6920 same. I was a huge Miley fan before this song with her previous album being my most streamed album 2 years on the trot. The only reasons behind this was 1) she switched labels. Her old label was horrendous and didn’t promote her stuff well. And 2) this song has a clear story behind it, so it adds to the drama

if you’re interested in getting into TWICE’s albums i recommend listening to their 2021 formula of love album to start it off. it’s a fairly easy listen most of it being fun pop music with the sort of “retro” style of pop that was super prominent around 2020-2021. it’s also the album that has The Feels on it & if you like that song i’m sure this album will be an enjoyable listen 👍

I know that everyone is surprised that Kali Uchis is ranked the 'WotW' including myself at first, but after hearing the track myself, I might agree with him even if I wouldn't put it nearly as the worst. The vocal performance is pretty good and the atmosphere could work, even with the offkey synths that can be distracting and the breakdown at the end, but it doesn't complement the content of a breakup track. But what really doesn't work the most is the ending which undercuts the maturity she is trying to imply along with the repetition of the word roses. I guess we will have to see how the album pays this song off, but for now, I hate to say it but it's only ok at best for me.

Yes, Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" is being overused in sampling. David Guetta just trend chasing something two years too late.

Remember when back in December, Morgan Wallen released a sampler of three songs which charted alongside Metro Boomin's album?
Well, this Monday, Morgan announced on Instagram that he has a new album coming out in March 3rd. (I predicted January-February, was three days off) It's called One Thing At A Time and it has a whopping THIRTY. SIX. SONGS. IN IT.
And the tracklist includes every song Morgan released in 2022. Don't Think Jesus. Thought You Should Know. And worst of all, You Proof.
I don't think this album is going to be good. Morgan clearly took the wrong lessons from the success of Dangerous: The Double Album and simply made another overlong project stuffed with filler, like all of the post-Views Drake albums and Culture II by Migos.
Oh and he also released another sampler of three songs from the album on Monday, as well. The chance of those songs charting is smaller than last time, since they won't get a full tracking week. Also, they're going up against Lil Yachty, Sam Smith and even Ava Max.

BOTW: 10:35 (One word: YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Seriously, y'all have no idea how ecstatic I am that this song is here! Finally, this song charted on the Hot 100 after weeks of being on the bubbling under charts! I have played this song on repeat constantly from late last year to the beginning of this year, and I just CANNOT get enough of it! The melodies are excellent, the production from Tiesto is hypnotic, futuristic in the best way possible, pulsating, and just all-around excellent, Tate Mcrae is the best she's literally ever sounded on a song, and the lyrics about taking a chance with someone and not being scared of anything are just really well-written! So yeah, this song absolutely slaps, PLEASE America, let this become a hit!)
BOTW 2: I Wish You Roses (Yay, the girl who finally had her big mainstream breakthrough with the excellent Telepatia also has another charting single on the Hot 100, and what do ya know, this is great too! Kali's vocals sound beautiful as per usual, the R&B production sounds so lush and elegant and match Kali's vocals so well, and the lyrics about wishing someone well after a breakup without any bitterness or anger are really well written! Hope to see this gain traction!)
HM: Krzy Train (I didn't bother to listen to Trippie Redd's new album in full considering that I don't really care for or about him as an artist, but out of all the tracks I heard from him this week, this was by far the one I liked the most! The guitars throughout the song excellent and menacing playing alongside Trippie and Travis, both of whom deliver REALLY good performances on this song imo. The only problem I have is that the bass is a tad overwhelming, but otherwise, this is a solid banger!)
HM2: MOONLIGHT SUNRISE (I'm so glad TWICE is back on the charts, they deserve SO MUCH more recognition (certainly over freaking Blackpink, who, I'm sorry, I can't STAND!) This song is nowhere near their best, but it's still a pretty good song all the same! The production is lush and very reminiscent of the 2000s, the lyrics are pretty cute, the melodies, especially on the chorus, are addicting, and the vocals are really solid!)
WOTW: Knight Crawler (This is genuinely one of the most unlistenable and headache inducing songs I've heard since Miss You and Unholy. Also, I don't know how many times I have to keep on saying this, but LET JUICE WRLD REST FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!)
DHM 1: Gangsta Boo (Ice Spice definitely gets WAY too much hate, and there are some bops from that Like...? EP she dropped, but this CERTAINLY wasn't one of them at all. Seriously, why the hell does the bass on this song sound like complete shit and clip the top of the mix so badly?! Also, this is a song about her cheating on her boyfriend to get with this guy. Yeah, I don't think I need to explain any more.)
DHM 2: AMG (Guys, if we're going to get more Regional Mexican music on the charts, can it please be better stuff than this? The trumpets sound flat, weak, and chintzy as hell, the guitar strumming is thin, and to say the frontmen here sound sloppy is an understatement. Yeah, not remotely a fan of this. Let's not make this a hit.)

Rappers have been complaining about their first week sales but a lot of them don’t announce their album until the week of its release and don’t do proper rollouts. Trippie had 22 features with a lot of popular rappers, and did 55k, that’s a huge flop.
Looking at how there's almost no hip hop on the charts most of the time, it would be surprising if he did more than that

Heads up that Morgan Wallen's full album of One Thing At A Time project is coming in the beginning of this March, so expect a huge album bomb from it in the next month or two.
Of course the Lil Yachty one will be a small album bomb. Because it's one I actually want to see!

HM (Tie): 10:35. Not as good as The Business or What Would You Do, but still a solid bop, with atmospheric production, cool vocals, and great lyrics. Solid tune!
HM (Tie): Knight Crawler. Mansion Musikk was a very odd album. Not really “bad”, but definitely a downgrade from Trip At Knight. That being said, this song is solid. The production is catchy, Trippie and Juice sound good, and the lyrics are fine. It’s ok.
HM (Tie): Red. Solid song, with great production, solid vocals from HARDY and Morgan, and good lyrics. Hopefully Beer, Happy, Drink One For Me, and I In Country chart next, those songs friggin slap!

Yeah…I don’t really care for this new Kali Uchis song and repeating listens makes it worse. I can be forgiving if it translates into an album cut, but on its own doesn’t do much for me (needs additional verses). I don’t know if it will be a hit, but this is a major disappointment.
Also…I might be in the minority, but production is consistently starting to be an issue with Kali Uchis’s work that frustrates me to no end. Again it’s less bad than more inconsistent.

One song to expect to enter the charts within the coming weeks is "Long, Long Time" by Linda Ronstadt, due to it being featured in the most recent episode (of the same name) of The Last of Us, leading to a massive streaming boost. Who knows if it'll make her the next Kate Bush as some are speculating, but be on the lookout for this.
Note: "Long, Long Time" peaked at 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970, so it'll also be interesting to see if it peaks any higher.
I don't think it will ever reenter.

Sail Away by lovelytheband: Yes, this is the same band that made that Broken song in 2018. I’ve checked them out, and they’ve made some cool stuff, especially their 2020 album Conversations With Myself About You. As for Sail Away, it’s pretty good. The production is nice, Mitchy Collins sounds solid, and the lyrics are cool. Great song.
