Mincho became the 1st Japanese artist to get a signature PRS, presented by Paul himself at an event where all the MAIDS were present. It was very emotional.
They're Self Made women. Self made thru raw talent, thousands of hours learning the instruments, abnormal imagination, relentless rehearsal, commitment to excellence that can be summed up in moving toward the Unseen World. No tetreat. No resting on their laurels. There is no quit to this amazing group of sisters dedicated to the same thing - World Domination!
The have such range!!! This song is SO GOOD! I honestly hear a lot of The Warning in this! I bet BAND-MAID were a HUGE influence in The Warning. Love this sound & it started w/ BAND-MAID. Appreciate the support 🤘👊🙏
I knew you'd like Manners, but, Black Hole? It's a 220 BPM song, one of their fastest and its theme is chaos, so I wasn't sure you'd take to it. My take from these two songs. Misa's bass - OMG, Akane's drumming - OMG, Kanami's guitar - OMG, Saiki's vocals - OMG and last but not least, Miku's guitar and harmonizing - OMG. Good job with the Japanese names. Tremendous reaction.
All songs are written by Kanami. If she is held back, it means she wanted it that way. If the bass kills, it means she wanted it that way. If the drums kill, it means she wanted it that way.
MANNERS may be Band-Maid’s most bluesy track, and the rhythm section absolutely rules throughout this entire song! Welcome to the MAIDiacs BIG MIKE! It just keeps better!
It’s got that New Orleans rock vibe!! I like it a lot! These 2 songs worked so well together & really showcased all 4 at different times & I’m pretty sure I have an idea who orchestrated that! They are so good. Watched them on a fan feed from Massachusetts in 2022 & I like it better than the higher budget shots. You see all 4 up close & they sound just as good if not better than recorded. Trying not to do ones I haven’t reacted to but they have a very deep catalog
Welcome to the ..... wtf, this is amazing....catagory....saw them 5 times in the USA in 2023....and they had a different set list for every show....their 10th yr finale concert was 3.5 hrs and 33 songs....
Kanami wrote Black Hole to be played at a faster BPM than they play any other song. She challenged everyone to step up their skills, and of course they nailed it.
@@BigMikeReactions Misa's bass tone is really punchy. I think she used a Tech21 preamp pedal for a long time but later switched to a Darkglass preamp pedal. I can't discern one from the other. Both sound great to me.
Band-Maid with Saki has been around playing professionally on stages and festivals since August 2013 and signed with a record label later in 2013. Their first CD was released in January 2014. 2016 they started playing overseas in the US, Mexico, and Europe. No, they were not influenced by any band. Band-Maid is Band-Maid; they are the happiest, most talented, and hardest hard rock band today. Their music is unique, complex, and, at times, fast, reaching 220 BPM. Band-Maid’s music is so diverse that it cannot be classified into a single genre, so we say their genre is “Band-Maid.”
If my memory doesn't fail me completely, they unpacked ‘Black Hole’ at the very end of this show. As the previous 2 hours were already quite intense, I was quite taken by surprise. :) If there's one thing you can't say about these ladies, it's that they take the easy path. :) And that's another reason why a lyric line from ‘Manners’ is an undeniable fact for us. :) ↓ _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
Misa is known as "The Barefoot Assassin" from when Miku said in an interview Misa wears An "Assassins Robe". Akane in between 2017/2018 said "You know what? Fuck this hat!"
Kanami is the main composer. All these songs are are her creation, with the other band members refining their own parts and adjusting (Misa, Akane). Kanami always writes to serve the song. She doesn't write to stand in the spotlight. From Now On was the one exception where she really took center stage.
Yep the Yin and Yang of B-M, took me awhile to settle into Black Hole but that's one of the many awesome joys of this band, they challenge themselves and challenge us the listeners, the seemingly just under control chaos, careening from start to finish, I firmly believe the musical soul of Frank Zappa looks on and smiles. What a fcken band Po 👍🍻
Everyone's gotten a lot better since then. Especially Saiki's singing and Miku's guitar skill. And yep, as always, the band is awesome. And they know when and how to hold back, without holding back emotions and passion. K-Pop reference... That's right, I've almost forgotten about that😂
I kinda figured. I know she puts mist of this together & not going too crazy & letting the others shine is a perfect leader!! And then she absolutely KILLED it on the 2nd. I was giving out crap since everytime so far, she does things I’ve never seen. Thank you for the comment. I do appreciate it no matter what. 🤘👍
This will always be one of my favorite videos from the Maids. We all knew you would get around to it at some stage. It's always been a habit of mine to subscribe to a reactor when they do this one. So you now have mine.
😂 if I discovered them when I was still a smoker I’d be in the same boat right about now! Only discovered them in 2022, maybe a couple of months after The Warning.
Imagine the courage to write two songs so diametrically opposed for the same album, and them to drop them together on a YT video for the world to see. And they are both so incredibly beautiful in their own ways. Next - a real change of pace two-fer? - “Catharsis” - OMV Acoustic then add, - “Sayonakidori” - OMV Acoustic - a Miku song! A you think she’s a backing vocalist, 😂 Here you learn she’s a Second Vocalist…! Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon Hole 🕳️! 😂🕊️ Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎼🎸🥁🎤🌎😎🙌🏼☮️✌🏼
Thank you!!! Everyone says she has come so far since the beginning especially on guitar. I appreciate the recommendations! Those songs together had to be intentional because (I believe) it was done to showcase all 4 at different times & I’m pretty sure I know who did that! 🌼🥀🌷🌺💐🌸🌹
BigMike , Great reaction , add these to your list , Daydreaming official music video , Play official live video , Freedom official live video , Bubble official music video .
J-LOD was a Japanese government initiative to help artists through the covid lockdowns. They gave grants to artistes to put out video's of their work. One of the stipulations was that the video's must be 5 minutes or longer in duration. Band-Maid have no 5 minute songs so they put out two songs on each J-LOD video. Both of these tracks were taken Band-Maids online concert livestreamed on May 10th 2021. Another great J-LOD video the Maids put out was "Dice" & "Different" - it's worth checking out!
Slight correction, you are correct that Kanami is Miku’s guitar instructor. However, it started very early in the band’s existence when they picked up another vocalist. This live video is during the pandemic and you can see that Miku has come a long way from knowing nothing.
I can't believe she picked it up that quick! I guess I was reading a transcript from a very long time ago. She was amazing. This is my fave BY FAR!!! Thank you
2:55 Good to see this, lotta reactors monetize wherever they can and requests are an obvious target for that, mostly through Patreon 🤑 (well, that's the dream, anyway 😉) Once upon a time UA-cam was more about sharing fun than making 💲 15:08 "I love the funk" well OK, how about George Clinton's Atomic Dog, the MV ? Funkiest song I've heard 🎵 And for a Band Maid suggestion - Turn Me On - live at Zepp. I think this one's still up on UA-cam (it does go away, to be resurrected yet again 😁) I think that's the most visceral reaction I've seen 👏🏽 and I've been watching reaction vids off and on for more then a decade 🗓
Yes George Clinton for sure! Just a little before my time. I appreciate the comment for sure. I’m really glad you enjoy the channel. Just me being me. Don’t do social media since 2015. It’s gotten so toxic that it destroys peoples mental health. This has been a nostalgia run for me & im all in! Ty again!!
WARNING! (maybe your next B-M song?) It's bad MANNERS to stop listening to Band-Maid because you'll feel starved for musical excellence and joy and fall into a BLACK HOLE of emptiness... probably! 🤔 Thx, Big Mike!
You've mentioned Rage twice in this video; I suggest you check out their song Freezer. The Morello influence is undeniable by the end of the song. Unfortunately none of the live videos have good audio quality, but the studio track is up on their official channel ( ua-cam.com/video/x7G0VEpWd_A/v-deo.htmlsi=g8KYSzdsVcOHhaEd ) and many others have reacted to it without issue, so you should be fine.
Kanami has always done both sides of the guitar. It's just quicker and cheaper that way. Miku has to do it LIVE and often while singing. So she isn't exactly getting off easy. But Kanami is a very generous teacher. She wrote one song and knew that Miku's skills weren't up to it. So she wrote another song that would get Miku's skills up to speed for the other song. But no, they aren't holding Kanami back, since she writes the music for all the songs. Sure, Akane & MISA write their own parts, but it's based off of Kanami's demos. No The Warning influence. This was recorded some time ago and too groovy for them. Just noticed- Misa is a fan of Jim Beam too and used to drink it during shows, but not so much now.

Even their “B-sides” are bottled lightning! There is so much talent in this band, and… they keep getting better!
No joke! They are so good at this!! 👍👊🤘
PRS just dropped the Kanami signature model guitar. Definitely worth a look.

I was worried when it started then …ALL IN!! So good & Misa’s baseline was so tough!! Loved it & the 2 songs complimented each other
Yeah, but they still keep the groove going at that speed. And they always have slowdown part.
All songs are written by Kanami. If she is held back, it means she wanted it that way. If the bass kills, it means she wanted it that way. If the drums kill, it means she wanted it that way.

Their catalog is so deep & I found them by accident & so happy I did!! Hopefully they come around again. Thanks for the support
When people first heard Unseen World, and got to Black Hole, many were like “how are they going to play this live?!” No problem.
They did so good!!! Thank you 🙏

Gotta love that '70's southern swamp rock feel...(Manners)
I can see that! Little NOLA sound. NICE!!! 🤘👊
I got Black Hole in Atlanta in 2023. I still haven't recovered 🕊️🕳️
It definitely sucks you in.😉
These two songs back to back in Nashville. There's a good balcony fancam of Black Hole.
@amgerth I should have filmed in Atlanta. Seems no one did. Where's Vlad when you need him...
