- While metal detecting with my Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector I found this old coin! This is an 1854 Seated Quarter with Arrows! It rang up as about a 31 on this metal detector. I was running 5 kHz low recovery speed trying to pull large deep silver coins like this. This is an old coin in beautiful condition, I was super excited to find it! I use the stock coil, and 6" sniper coil, and the 15" coil for the Equinox 800 when I metal detect. I love treasure hunting for stuff like this.

I like how your finds are not super flashy with these diamond rings or giant gold chains.
Just some cool stuff from history.
Don’t forget the half dollars had 40% silver through 1965 and 1970
Back when money was real....
ong tho
@@prod.g0re420 eggs are worth more than a house nowadays bro 💀
@@ivorys-ivyI'm paying 3$ for 18 eggs. Where can I buy a house for that price?
@@shaneharris9818 it’s a joke lmao
@@shaneharris9818100% some junk eggs at that price 💯
Thanks you for FINALLY removing dirt from coins with non-abrasive methods, we need more people like you
I 100% believe your coins come out of the ground like that. You have nice low mineralized soil. Here in Phoenix, it's brutal. Our soil is NASTY!
Congrats boss man got myself onto a seated dime (1875) and two seated half dimes 1839-1857 metal detecting at a 1771 colonial house
I've found my Seated Quarter Love Token, now I need to find a regular Seated quarter and dime and on and on and on 😂
Try finding vintage marbles this would be the perfect place to find them and trust me, they are elite looking
I've never seen coins come out of the ground that clean. The coins around here are black and has a crust on them. The pennies are worse. Good luck and find more.
Mine too, I dnt think he actually just dug these up like that but probably found or bought them then staged the events for the sake of video

@@-Mayket-Mayke-Cents-god nothing actually happens in the world according to mfs like you
My grandpa found a 1941 dime that looked like that. It’s so cool
1965-70 were silver clad (40% silver) for half dollars as well.
Only halfs for circulation. 40% was all in proof sets
@@eflow_99 I’m miss understanding what you are saying, I apologize. 1965-69 are 40% and for circulation while 1970 was a 40% made only in mint sets. Proofs should also have been 40% during this time period
@@blaz33_gaming Sorry about that. Starting in 1965, only half dollors were mented in 40% for circulation, dimes and quarters switched to copper/ nickle: Clad Composition (1965-1998) Composition: 91.67% Copper - 8.33% Nickel. (Quarters and dimes)
Halfs: 40% Silver Composition (1965-1970) Composition: 40% Silver - 60% Copper.
To my knowledge only proof sets and mint sets sold as silver were 40% (so added cost) while 'normal' sets where clad.
200 years old? Are you from the future? It's 2023 here now.
As a coin collector all said here was facts
as a fellow metal detector, the people who don't believe silver coins come out of the ground looking like this are the people who have never detected before, and silvers can come out looking amazing
How do you do this stuff I would love to be able to do it
All you need is a metal detector. You can get an ok one for like $100, but some of them can run you thousands I’m sure. Then just pick a spot of land to search for stuff
how do you get permission to do this in like the old dump sites and stuff id love to do this to but not sure where any of the dump site or anything it i gonna do some research lol
You can use websites like old maps online and others to look up old maps of your area and it overlays the map on a modern google map for you and you can change the opacity to see where old houses or churches or what ever the maps have on them for you!
You just made me put a metal detector on my Christmas list 😂 that is awesome!
200😂😂😂 your math way off😂😂😂
Thank you for saying this for me😅
@@brazosTX he did find a seated coin 😂😂😂
@@brazosTX 🤣🤣👏🏿👏🏿 y’all aren’t too sharp are you??
@@brazosTX I’m telling you that if YOU didn’t see it then YOU can’t possibly know what it was.
@@warrenmcelroy4718 I just went back and watched it for you. There is no 200-year-old Coin in there. It’s an idiot screaming like he saw three rainbows and finds a seated quarter. Still not 200 years old.
I have found a 1890 silver dollar and also a 1916 half that came out of the ground totally covered with rust and iron found in an old dump. I thought they were washers but they were heavier decided to clean them with electrolysis good thing I did. I found a seated 1865 quarter 100 ft away that came out shiny? So make sure it's a washer before you throw it away.
The worm chilling in the dirt:I've been waiting for you🪱🪱🪱
How do you find dumps?
At this point I dream of owning any coin
I found a flying eagle cent from 1857, only made 3 years from 1856-1858. 164 year old find!!
Love the video. Showing the Silver Coins you've found with the years made and the extra information with it very nice
And Congrats on the Seated Quarter especially if it was your first. What a great feeling when that happens. Take Care
Somewhere i have a 1919 mercury dime that is spotless was working in old Chicago and just as I dug under the grass i Heard something fly off the shovel i think it had to be the guys laying the sod way back when
I've been collecting corn since I was 12 that is awesome I want one
What kind of corn? Just ears of corn or kernels? Do you like popcorn ? I used to grow corn. But I never collected it. The Indian corn is different colors, I bet you collect Indian corn 🌽
Meant to say coins
When I found my capped bust half dime I nearly shit myself
That quarter was made and dated in the date of my birth.😮 🎉 🎉 🎉
Seated.....most beautiful American coin ever made in my book
Heck yeah congrats 🤘🪙
I also have a Chinese coin from the 1600s
Yo i got a gold mercury coin as a family pendant! Dude thats so cool

Nice find dude!!! Awesome info too.
We have been given some of those rare coins as a gift. I have a silver dime in my collection right now

I found that corn I have one of those I found it when I was walking from the beach on a hot day and some dirt in next to a parking lot by Amelia Island Florida

What year is that quarter?
Probably late 1700 to early 1800
@@surfinsilver Thank you so so so much for answering my question. That was so kind of you and much appreciated!!🥰 I hope you have a blessed day!!❤
Seated Liberty quarters were made between 1836-1891.
How did you get x-ray vision?
Oh dang nice job man

Whats the music on this video?
They are beautiful coins
Coins are awsome!
Gold and silver dont corode in the ground thats why they look brand new
Did you ever think it might have been a twenty cent piece? That would've been insane!
Dude I collect coins and I’m geeking out with you!!!!
I can't metal detect for I don't have one and not many places would allow it where I live probably.
But who says the bank won't find a way to find you an 1890 Seated Liberty Dime lol.
Finding treasure is best when you are patient for it.
Always have been interested in old coins my metal detector is slow need to buy a Garret or Whites electronics
I would recommend a Minelab Vanquish 440. Good mid level/starter detector. I have that and more recommendations on my website, prospectortuck.com!
quarters in the u.s. are silver from 1796-1964 not 1932-1964, are you new ?
He says Washington quarters are you deaf or can’t read?
He said Washington quarters.
@@fuzzball7972 touche', guess i'm new
🎈 My CONGRATS!
the half dollar where silver until 1970 the 1964 ones where 90% and form 1965-1970 they where 40%
I dream of finding a 1784 Flowing Hair silver dollar!
I have dime and 2 quarters, how much are they worth??
😂😂😂. Sure they come out like that.
I love the whole some excitement. How do you get to these properties like do you need permission to metal detect or are these abandoned?
Abandoned or not someone still owns it and it’s always best to find out Who, and get permission, just to cover your ass because some folks don’t mind while others are complete jackasses for no reason
Quarters were silver until 70 quarters from up until 64 were 90 percent silver while 65 to 70 were 40 percent silver
No. 1965 quarters and on were all clad. No silver.
You're thinking of half dollars
That’s right thanks for correcting me
I imagine those coins could be worth thousands depending on what the market and price is
Unfortunately they are not, closer to silver spot price divided by its weight and then 90% of that for being 10% copper
@@brazosTX oh ok hmm well didnt know that sucks i watch the coin channel frequently was wonderin u never know
What YEAR (and MINT) was the SEATED QUARTER????
1854 w Arrows Philadelphia. Not a key date but absolutely beautiful
@@ProspectorTuck That is AWESOME! Thanks for updating!
How much value?
Tell me you're single without saying you're single.
1965 quarter has a 90% silver error too worth 10k
Good luck finding one though
Pretty
Why did you cover your finger up where the year was
Oh my God I found these coins I planted in this mud pile I created before the video.
Really? The way you react you'd think they're worth a thousand bucks apiece
I actually have a very big coin collection and I enjoy watching you guys but what kills me is when you guys find a coin and scratch between your fingers you are the first person I have seen one finds a coin you puts it out and squirts it with a spray bottle
Can you still spend them
I always wondered why they were called Mercury dimes if they aren't made out of mercury and that they're made out of silver.. weren't some point the Benjy's were made out of mercury but not the Mercury dimes themselves? Or am I remembering something wrong...
You can't make a coin from mercury. Mercury is a liquid, and pretty poisonous at that.
The reason its called a mercury dime is because liberty on the front looks similar to Mercury, the goddess
Getting hooked hon! Mama diane
I just looked at 200k dollars that I can only dream of finding
Can you link all your meatle detecting gear in a video please?
Where does one go metal detecting for silver coins?
Anywhere people have been... the longer ago the better. Many of my hunts are in farm fields, I research where old homesteads were in the 1800s, get permission from the farmer, and go detect the area. I have found tons of awesome stuff. You won't get rich, but it is a great hobby.
wow 200 dollar find at least on auction
doesnt the value go up if it was made it 1800? surely it still isnt 25¢
I am more interested in the other coin not the silver one
Love me mercs
Worth $2.60
