Thank you for sharing your experiences. I live in Germany and my Japanese friends always take good care of their valuables when they are traveling in Germany! The crime rate in Germany is much higher than in Japan. A lot of pickpockets and fraudsters in German cities, especially in the big cities and at festivals. So, please take good care of your valuables when you visit Germany! 😢I'm really very sorry if something is stolen from someone!
Well Germany is also much bigger than Japan and a lot more people live here. I mean the crime rate is higher than in JP but still low compared to other countries. Tourist places are always targets of criminals in every country.
Hi Yuu, I watched all the way to the end. I'm so sorry that your wallet was stolen, it's a shame that it happened to someone as pure and kind as you. But I'm glad you're not as depressed anymore. ❤❤❤
I watched all the way to the end 🙂 Although you were presenting as someone in Japan, the advice you gave was applicable to all of us worldwide, and I don't think it was actually dark (although the experience was for you), but cautionary. I haven't had my wallet stolen for a few decades now, (I live in the city so am pretty vigilant.) but I remember all the emotions - anger, sadness, etc. that resulted as I had to reassemble my life (credit cards, driver's license, IDs, etc.). Thank you for sharing your experience, and I hope you can recuperate easily and quickly.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Yuu. Many years ago, someone entered my home because I had left a window unlocked and stole my laptop computer, two diamond rings and a DVD player. There was so much more that could have been taken, so it was odd that only those few items were gone. The DVD player was worth less than $50. The laptop computer was 7 years old and had a removable battery - which had been removed and stored separately so they wouldn't have gotten much money for it. I felt very vulnerable for a long time because my safety had been violated. In the United States, expensive, luxury cars are taken to the ports, loaded into containers and shipped to the Middle East and sold. Older Hondas are very popular with thieves in general. I think they may be easy to break into. I remember watching a news story many years ago about a woman who lived in San Diego, California and had her expensive SUV truck stolen from her driveway. Some time after the theft, she was watching news coverage of a large drug bust in Mexico and saw the Federales (Mexican National Police) driving her truck! The US and Mexican governments wouldn't do anything to help her get her truck back. San Diego is on the border between the US and Mexico and it is not unusual for criminals to freely cross the border to avoid arrest.
Yes. Places where pickpocketing occur the most are main streets that tourists visit the most. This is why you should get a shirt (and jacket for the cold days) that has a big pocket on it's inside.
I did watch your video to the end. Whether you commented or not doesn't matter, what matters most is that you lost something that belongs to you, and you needed to be extra careful. Always have your belongings clutched and by your side. If you dont feel safe in Japan due to the increase in theft and scams of personal property, I suggest you move to another country or another city to feel safer.
Very sorry to hear about your experience. Because of the fear of theft, most people don't keep their cash all in one place (one wallet) - it's prudent, especially for tourists, to space out your daily cash / credit cards in different areas of your travel kit (your purse / back pack / travel pack) in the event one should be assaulted/robbed, to minimize loss. You don't expect it to happen, but you don't expect it to NOT happen as well - we say, be akamai (smart) on how you go about your day. On a lighter note, love the audio on this microphone - it's very clear and crisp. Thank you for sharing! EDIT: I hope you have someone you trust to watch your two cats while you travel to the states in the summer. Safe travels!
YUU I am sincerely sorry to hear this but please take great care once you come to the USA. For someone is always looking for someone who look like they are confused or easy to take advantage of. Thank you for informing us to take great care of our surroundings at all times.
I have watched this video until the end. I am so sorry you had to go through having your wallet stolen. It has happened to me here in the USA at least once where I live.
Hey Yuu. I'm currently in Japan and from the USA. I would definitely be careful whichever state you are going. Coming from the US and often hearing the crime rate, I always stay vigilant and careful in Japan as nowhere is truly 100% safe. Enjoy your trip in the US and always stay aware of your surroundings!
Hi Yuu, I'm sorry to hear that you had your wallet stolen. but was interested enough to watch your video to the end. When I first moved to LA, I was somewhat depressed to learn how much theft and fraud there is in this area. After living here awhile, I realized that this reality is a reflection of the large population around me, When I lived in the Denver, CO area I ddin't realize that the occurrance of car theft may have been even more frequent, factoring in the size of the population there.. Thanks for posting your video!
Hello! I watched the video all the way through! Thank you for sharing. This gave me some insight into what content creators struggle with when it comes to scams, especially in the form of emails and fake accounts. I'll be vigilant and always check the validity. 😊
Hi Yuu-san, I'm so sorry you had this experience. Fortunately (or maybe not), the only thefts I've been a victim of is someone breaking into my home and taking a lot of my electronics, all my jewellery, and my gaming things. I've been victim to many other criminal activities in Egypt too (it's a long story that leaves me at least 4.5 years stuck there), so yes, being vigilant is very, very important 🙏🏻 I watched the video to the end, and it surprised me how much happens regarding car and bicycle theft! I'll be extra careful when I visit Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in the summer 🙏🏻
I'm so sorry, Yuu. That would make me so angry. Theft is very common in my town even though it's probably one of the smallest towns in the USA. I keep my purse and my phone strapped to my jeans while I'm working in the stores. I'm sorry, I hope they find the person that stole it.
Watching half of your video, just brings me to say at least you are safe and left without injury. It can happen to anyone , we just like you mentioned we must stay vigilant of our surroundings.
I'm sorry that your wallet was stolen. I almost had my camera stolen while sightseeing in Rome. But thanks to a friend who actually spotted the pickpocket and confronted her after her first attempt failed, I did not lose anything. I'm aware that things like that happen. But I was still surprised and a bit sad afterwards. When you come to visit the U.S , do be careful. But I hope you will experience more the beauty, friendliness, and safety of our country. ❤
Yes., what is wonderful about being able to view UA-cam and platforms that are similar,We learn that across the world everyone is dealing with similar problems. This really helps dispel a lot of myths one might have about different people, and places that one may not be familiar with .Sometimes this amounts to fear, because it's not familiar or it's just different. But for me I find it exciting, to view how other people live in this big wonderful complex world.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
I did watch to the end, and I'm sorry that happened to you. The unfortunate reality is that yes, it could also happen here in the US--but it also might not happen, especially with the level of vigilance you already have. I do hope you're able to enjoy your time here, and that you are able to take home many pleasant memories.
In the past they didn't have the infrastructure needed to do the crime but as more and more immigrants arive they can set up the whole infrastructure needed for the operation , pawn shops , fence , movers etc that can get rid of the stolen items and produce the money.
To the end! 😘 The safest place for the wallet is the front pocket of tight pants, especially in the summer, when there are no clothes with internal secure pockets with zippers, but it is not very comfortable though.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and bad experiences about theft. Every country has good and bad people. Although the crime rate is not much, you still have to be careful with your personal assets. Being stolen is considered a bad experience to learn from. I believe that the Japanese police will find your wallet back, so you can rest assured.
I forgot my wallet close to Meoto-Iwa (Ise Prefecture) and I realized when I was on the bus. I came back to the bus stop and the wallet was there, intact.
Hola Yuu.
From my experience in Japan and those of my friends, we believe both bicycles and umbrellas are the most common items to be stolen. But wallets, mobile phones, glasses/spectacles and bags are usually handed into the koban, unfortuinately there are always people out there who are less honest and instead of doing the right thing, they'll steal the cash from the wallet before handing it in. I learnt not to carry a wallet, instead carry enough cash for what I'm thinking of doing for the day. Now in 2024, with the huge numbers of tourists, one can't help but wonder how many of tthose people would hand something they find on the street to the local police box? 🤔
I'm glad you are Safe and doing fine🙏🏽🫂 regardless. Hope you were able to at least retrieve any and or all items that you had in the Wallet. Hope whatever was inside is retrievable. Stay safe and sending lots of love and good vibes your way.
Often times, when IG accounts with a lot of followers are taken over, they are used to promote something malicious, usually another scam product. Or the account is sold on the dark market and used for what I've described before by someone else later.

Since you are going to America, be extra careful as a high rate of crime is occurring in major cities.
So sorry Yuu 😢

Let's not try to normalize this kind of behaviours. Not all places are sh1tholes like New York / London etc.

Yuu, I think your wallet was stolen by foreigners, not by Japanese.
Well, it means Japan is not even as safe as Thailand & Taiwan! In Bangkok & Taiwan, people just leave their phones & bags on the table to buy food.
This is the norm in Japan too. The reality is bad people exist everywhere, even in the most peaceful societies.

Hello 👋 Yuu
Theft is a very traumatic experience. Please take care.
Sorry about what happened omg
It sucks man! I am wondering what is the sentence in Japan for theft?
I thought something like that might happen now in japan. Inflation/poverty increases the criminal rate.
Domo Arigatou.

All those gaijin coming to Japan and stealing stuff
Thanks for your honesty otherwise I would still be thinking that Japan has no such crimes.
finished... one questio... what can scammers do if they get your instagram password ? what is the purpose?

I thought japan is a very safe country.
