About umbrellas…They are worthless if the wind is blowing, and hard to hold while carrying groceries. They are also impossible to hold while pushing a baby stroller, and I am usually pushing a baby stroller with my youngest daughter in it(Her stroller has a cover to keep the rain off of her.). For these reasons, I rarely use an umbrella. I actually enjoy the rain if it’s a warm day, as long as I am wearing a hat that keeps the rain off of my glasses.
About Halloween, Christmas and parties… I do absolutely love Halloween and Christmas, but parties make me want the earth to open up to hide me. I’m very introverted(I love people though, as long as they are genuine.), and tend to clam up(which means to be very quiet,or not know what to say. Another common phrase for this is “tongue tied”, or “cat got your tongue”). I feel out of place unless I am with someone who I’m comfortable around, and they are sticking by my side, and at least giving me some of their attention, and actively including me in the conversation. If there happens to be any dogs or cats there, I will spend the entire time petting them.
I would actually love to make Japanese friends! I would be willing to help someone improve their English, as well. The only Japanese words that I can remember, though, are “Konichiwa(If I misspelled that, than I’m sorry) and “Arragoto(I probably misspelled that, as well). I actually tried many years ago to learn Japanese, but I gave up. I’m thinking about trying to learn it again, though…🙃

When we were shopping in Shibuya, it was lightly raining and I realised we were the only ones not using umbrellas. It was funny to hear the comments about Australians not using umbrellas as much. As an Australian, I was surprised that everyone was using an umbrella. It made it very obvious that we were foreigners 😂

i think a lot of foreigners wouldnt use an umbrella unless it was a downpour just out of sheer embarrassment😭 my country is very rainy but if its only a drizzle i just have to accept that my hair will be ruined because an umbrella would make me stand out

Thanks a lot for your really interesting videos. I think from abroad it's really difficult to find friends. There are so many fake profiles and scammers on social media. I'm looking forward to the next interview, please keep up with the good work 😊🙏

Another great interview 🥰 I do relate to the comment about umbrellas. In Florida we don't often use umbrellas because the rain is so inconsistent. It'll rain heavily for a few minutes and be completely sunny by the time you pull out an umbrella 😅

Thank you for the video! Is it considered pushy to ask Japanese acquaintances for introductions to other people for the purpose of making friends?

so interesting to listen to native japanese people's opinions about making friends. i didn't know that Instagram is so popular in Japan. i once used an app called "Tandem" to make some foreign friends, but it didn't work for me (probably, that's because i wasn't active enough). thank you very much for this kind of content, it was really helpful ^^
