They are a blast to fly fish for them. I just started and they eat all year round and in my area the best fly it's a foam beetle. If you are located in area without trout this is the fish you need to target!
Thanks Pete. That's lovely to hear. It's so often a time thing with all my other jobs and being a dad to a two year old terror right now. Watch this space though, because I'm going to see if I can do some more this summer. Thanks for watching!
A four weight (and the rod is a 10ft). Feels about right for this fishing. Light enough to cast gently- but enough poke to play the fish. Long rods are really useful where wading isn't an option or banks are overgrown and you need that reach.
Brilliant stuff Dom, just listened to you Fly Culture Podcast, ordered your book straight after, asking for a fly outfit for Christmas!
Many thanks! In the nick of time, too- down to the last two FFCF books now. Hope you enjoy it- and good luck getting the fly outfit from Santa!
A lovely presentation focusing one of the best freshwater species the fly angler can target. Great stuff Dom.
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
