- While enjoying a peaceful night at Bois D'Arc Lake in Arkansas, my evening got a lot less peaceful when hundreds of locals decided to party. I also review a new Luci portable solar light.

Ah, Redwing Blackbirds. My favorite bird. I always know springs is on the way when I hear my first Blackbird. They just arrived 4 days ago. They are visiting my feeders and every evening right before sunset They descend to the ground to eat all the seeds that fell out of the feeders during the day. For a few minutes, there are hundreds of birds on the ground and in the trees, flying back and forth between the feeders. I love it.
I camped at beautiful James Island County Park, near Charleston, SC. Wonderful day . . . And then the frogs came out, hundreds of them, all night long! A symphony only they enjoyed.
I love the sound of frogs!
@@volvo09 They can be so loud it's deafening though.
I literally had to go out about 3am one morning to run the bullfrogs off near my pool which was covered on a night with a full moon...they mistook it for a pond...they were so loud in their mating song that I couldn't sleep...and I had the whole ecological experience, frogs singing, frogs laying eggs in the pool cover that hatched and became tadpoles, tadpoles that birds swung down and ate... rest became froglets of course...my girls got a free nature lesson...
I like the old Lucy. You kno the saying: "If it's not broken, don't fix it!"😊
Those shots of the tree silhouettes reflected on the water stunned me. I love tree silhouettes at night and that shot was a prize winner.
Love the songs of the coyote's at night! Nice campsite.
My cat watched your entire video! She loved the birds and nature shots. Thumbs up from Claire 🐱
Saw the title and immediately thought “Oh no… another RV with a generator all night…” This was much better. Another great video, Slim. Thanks for sharing!
Same here. I was also shocked by the title, and therefore I read the description first: ... my evening got a lot less peaceful when HUNDREDS of locals decided to party." - I'm glad it was just birds.
Same!!! Migrating birds can be sooooo loud.
When I saw "Noisy Neighbors" I thought, oh no, not some obnoxious party goers... but the natural symphony would have been wonderful... maybe even the birds.... I am soooo envious of the fine weather and those croci flowers... we are still at -26c at night this week with howling winds and another Alberta Clipper on its way... and we are still under about a 2 meter blanket of snow too....those partially submerged tree trunks would certainly be a major magnet for my camera... what an amazing avian phenomena... the noise would be mesmerizing... my concern would be more for their 'deposits'... such incredible morning light
...and I just picked up a Luci 2.0 from SportChek in Winnipeg... current Cdn price is $39.00
Amazon price deliverd was going to be $29 usd or $37 cdn and a two week delivery schedule...
Went down to the beach looking for you I figured you was long gone but gave me a reason to go to the beach 🏖
The birds were amazing and annoying at the same time. Thanks for the upload Slim!
I have always enjoyed the sounds of the environment at night. Owls, coyote, crickets, frogs looking for dates. My favorite times are the "twilight times". The crossover when the animals are either settling in or just waking up, and the sounds all blend together.
My pup also enjoyed the coyotes.
Love the end bit I guess your not impressed with the light. Mate as long as you keep blowing that lamp up a little part of you is In that light lol
This is my first view and I thought, “why does this guy have so many fans?” Well now I know. You are a great story teller. And photographer. So beautiful and the birds were so fun to watch.
Haven’t camped in Arkansas, but love Missouri.
I always loved the sounds of the Bullfrogs and tree frogs in the pond by my Grandparents farmhouse in South Georgia. Their sound became deafening when a storm approached. We said it was them welcoming the rain!
🌬aaaah. a conference of the birds. a parliament of foules📡 music from the multi-verses🎶fantastic cinematography, as usual.👌🏽bravo, slim.🕊
Alfred Hitchcock..."The Birds!" I have the same annual spectacular event, in Tn. They're the best noisy neighbors! Stay safe, SP. 🕊
I'm glad the birds gave you some peace in the end and I hope the record gas prices don't slow you down.
I want your camper, and your vehicle, and your life!!😍😍😍 You are so blessed my friend!! Enjoy the day
You tricked me and I thought it was gonna be people drinking!!! :-) Haha! Birds can be loud. I hear bird around here that sounds like an owl, a little bit. It might be! But it goes 'hoo hoo.......hoo'. And repeats about 3-5 seconds later. But what's disconcerting is sometimes it sounds rushed. Most bird songs sound very relaxed and content. It's the only bird I remember sounding very nervous or anxious. I heard this bird type around and west of Phoenix, down in south central Arizona.
I recall researching just a little and that it might be an invasive species from Australia. Edit: Eurasian Collared Dove is the closest I found.
I like some noise like crickets so I don't hear the ringing in my ears, which isn't real bad but noticeable.
Love the sounds of nature.
I am serenaded every morning by the crowing of a rooster. My next door neighbor has a rooster. Funny, I live in a city.
I am so glad your noisy neighbors let you get some sleep.
Beautiful ... we used to love places like that ... and the nature of it. Namaste. Jay
The beauty of this video is simply breath-taking.
Slim- back when I was a kid my Mom and I went to an eye Doctor appointment my Mom parked under a large billboard. When we went out to get I to the car the car was covered with 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch a bird poop. My Mom thought that the was vandalized. I stopped her and had her look up and see the amount of birds. As we stood there you could hear the poop drop and land on the car. We went to a car wash. Had to go through twice to get all the crap off.
I had that Bird gathering happen once when I had a walnut tree in early spring, and the whole tree was covered with robins!
Always a good time! A thank you stay safe A ALL
Relaxing video, I enjoyed it. I'm glad you like my home base state of Arkansas.
The sunrise looks like liquid gold. Beautiful.
All I can say is, “Beautiful!”..❤️. Thank you Slim.
Those birds looked like Starlings to me, they always roost at night in huge numbers like that.
In my area the only come once a year and there gone.
I was thinking maybe grackles.
I love your snowboard wind deflector 👍
Ordered 2 of the Lucie lights from your affiliate link. Thanks, Slim.
Gorgeous pic of the sunset, trees and your camper with the sunset behind it. Always great videos!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Hello Judy how are you
That was a beautiful spot and even though the bird chorus became a little more than could be appreciated, it was still nice they dropped by. Thanks.
What a great place to sit and watch such stunning sunset. Many thanks for sharing your travels Slim.
David in the UK.
I almost did not play this one to avoid getting pissed, I thought for sure you had some inconsiderate neighbors pull in and ruin the peace 😄
Well if you need a new to you snowboard to replace that one, you're always welcome in Colorado. Great video.
CHEERS from Colorado
James Island near Charleston is absolutely beautiful. We stayed there for a couple of weeks and can’t wait to get back.
I love the “quiet” of nature at Sundown (Lightfoot).
Me too, it’s beautiful you know
Them birds were great, they must have been discussing travel plans 🤣😂🤣 keep'em coming SP
Your voice is one of the main reasons I watch your videos, it is so soothing and pleasant to listen to. You should really think about getting into book narration
How are you doing my friend. Looks like you're still travelling everywhere.
Love his filming talents.
Great video, Slim. I, too, like the gathering of the birds each spring. They are hardwired to follow some order we cannot distinguish.
True. If evolution dictated the bird's flight... they wouldn't be going back and forth each and every year. God likes variety and diverse locations.
Those look like European Starlings. They create beautiful flowing masses in the sky called murmurations. People talk about them like they're trash birds, but I argue that there is no such thing. We introduced them to North America, and being the generalists that they are, they have naturally flourished. Thank you for the beautiful, relaxing video of them.
You bring me such inner peace. Thank you for sharing, Grandma Vicki.
You have a way of making the mundane sound interesting. Hope you are enjoying your US tour.
When there’s a Slim Potatohead video, I just hit the Like button right away, they’re always great.
This video was terrific- thanks Desi (I mean Slim) 😂❣️. 🙏✌️🌎💞
Wow, that morning fog was beautiful. So was the sunset. You haven't lost your touch.
Loved hearing all the blackbirds coming in to roost, on their way here as well, warming up in Minnesota, finally! Bird migration is among my favorite things, goes well with campung.
Well if they weren't blackbirds, I'm alright with being wrong, but we did get see some here in Minnesota! Today was great, we drove down to a wildlife management area in the southeastern part, it has beautiful bluffs all over, and saw quite a few migratory waterfowl, and an Eastern bluebird, plus the red winged blackbirds. Beautiful weather, 50'. Sun was really nice too.
@@susanpremo8068 pretty sure they are Blackbirds. Crows are much bigger....and they caw.
They are a very great light!
Never heard of them until now. I agree with you on the older one, being 70 years old, I am a nostalgia kind of man.
What a beautiful place to camp! Thanks for sharing.
You gotta wonder what the signal between them is to all take flight. Glad it wasnt a pile of vultures! Thanks for the Luci light review. I love my old one..didnt know they had a new style.
I really hope you're working your way back to West Texas. It's beautiful this time of year when the Bluebonnets start blooming.
' Lucy in the Sky with diamonds ' !!
Great Lucy-Lite Review !!
It was an honour that the birds
Chose to rest near Your Camper !!
All the Best
Peace
How beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us. I ordered both Lucy lights because they would do well in a grid down situation.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos!
You have made being a camper an art form. I too have coyotes in my back yard, they are my symphony of the South Carolina Low Country in which I live.
I am a little late to the party to tell you how pretty your camper paint job is. Love the two tone and the colors are classy! As a Tennessee girl, I appreciate you showcasing boondocking in my neighboring state of Arkansas. What a pretty place! Great vid, Slim! :-)
I think I like the old Lucy better. Thanks for the reviews!!
Speaking of crows, I found that those leaving in Cape Cod finish their calls or - news exchange- with a specific sound, something similar to " ha-hen", maybe a regional dialect. I see them as trees' gossipers. It makes me laugh all the time!
Beautiful scenery!
We know what you mean. We have 1000s crows in the trees over the river here in Chatham for the winter! The warmth from the water is why! Come March they leave for their summer home? The noise is wild! Catch you on the next one! Nancy from Canada
Loved the sunset, made me want to be there.
You can make yourself a solar stove Slim and cook with the sun. :) For high heat face the sun. For simmer mode face the shade. You can make something that is foldable and stretch it out while it's in use like a satellite dish.
Admire your problem solving. We pull a small tear drop and whenever we stop; even if it's just a brief restroom stop, I do a walk around and I'm always expecting to find something that needs adjustment. Most days we're lucky and have no issues but on occasion we've reached camp sites and discovered a "minor problem". We've been fortunate that nothing was too serious and if I didn't have the tools or material, we've had fellow RVers stop by and offer to assist. Regarding the LUCI lights - we purchased our first when they were no more than a Kickstarter campaign and they have never let us down. We carry four colored ones so we can decorate outside for whatever season we are in. We also have three sets of LUCI string lights that we run along the frame of our teardrop. LUCI lights are great.
This might be my new favorite Slim video. I vote for Original Lucy.
It's been many years since a new "I love Luci" special.
Welcome to Arkansas. Should have stayed until March 11 we had snow here
The new one is great for small trees
I prefer the old Luci. That tail on the new one seems like a bit of trouble. Cheers!!
I got the Lucie string lights and really like them. Beautiful shots. Hope you haven't got covered in snow.
I love the shirt. So true.
Beautiful scenes and nice words. Your videos are very enjoyable. I wish they were longer. Thank you for the love you put into them.
Starlings comprised the large, noisy flock of birds. They are an invasive species.
My main man slim lets goooooo
Very beautiful nature and video.
I enjoyed very much.
Always love your nature shots Slim. Thanks for the vid.
I especially liked the turtle pics. The whole video was beautiful.
Man you are living the life. love it keep it up brother!!!
Beautiful as always. Thank you! Cheers from south oh Houston!
Tip for finding the “hidden” button on your Luci light…just super glue a small dimensional sticker… or let a tiny dollop of glue dry where you need to press. It doesn’t light up but you can feel the dot in the dark kind of like the keys on your lap top. Beautiful shots of nature!
I have the black birds come every year this time a year to my bamboo forest. I love it .
Your photography is awesome!
As always 👍🏼👍🏼 love your videos 💕
You're getting devious in creating the Titles to your videos, Slim. I was thinking the top of your RV & vehicle were going to get covered with bird doo. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of nature, at its best.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada.
Two seconds in and love the video already.
When I saw the title I thought this was going to be about generators or outdoor speakers
Didn't expect Pee Wee! That was good! Also wanted to say, I kinda miss the ~A- Frame or A-liner.
Thank god you’re back, I’ve been in need of a Slim fix for days. ❤️❤️❤️
Old Luci rocks. New Luci needs to take a walk. LOL
Love those trees out in the water with bulbous bases. Beautiful view. Can't wait til I can explore later this year. Nature heals so effectively. The green, the sky, the sounds, you captured them.
Great video, Slim. Loved the bird footage.
Could have been a little longer with the sounds of the spring peepers (frogs) in the evening. LOVE that sound!! Can't wait till spring is here. It was last weekend with Temps around 68°F. This weekend it's old man winter with temps around 12°F, wind chills around -10°F with lake effect snow. SICK OF WINTER!! Slim, enjoyed the humor at the end.
Birds came to say hello and welcome you to the neighborhood!
Five star - recommended viewing.
Once again, incredible video. I always love your scenery and narration about nature. This one got me even more excited about our first camping trip of the year in 2 weeks. Thanks for the video!
I love those shots of the morning mist, so pretty! Thanks Slim!
That light is very clever. Thank you for the review.
Thank you so much for sharing the beauty and the birds that followed you! And the turtles. And all the lovely spring sounds. Luci is like an old buddy. :-)
