the plane I fly was destroyed.

- The gradient winds gusting more than 60mph here in Nashville on March 3, 2023 were so strong, the tie down rings snapped on the airplane I rent/fly. I feel terrible for the owner. It was a beautiful airplane. I am grateful for the time we had.
It was 3 years to the day that tornados demolished the entire airport, so I guess this is a small improvement for March 3rd's around here.
Stuff is just stuff, but man is it hard not to feel this right in the gut. A horrible loss of a timeless and storied airplane.
RIP 1979 Piper Archer II. I will miss flying with you.

I appreciate your work and the way you share it on UA-cam. Thanks for giving new meaning to this unfortunate event and thanks for this video.
Thanks Evan for the encouragement and support!
Thank you for the hard but thoughtful message. It struck me -- impermanence. Things change and break, and we do too sometimes. And it led me to think also -- resilience. We move forward and find new ways to cope and grow and share.
I like the resilience STC! Thanks man I appreciate your appreciation.
The plane I did my PPL checkride in had a prop strike not too long afterward. Not sure the status of it, but it hasn't flown since. :(
Damn wish you the best
It feels so solid to fly and looks so sturdy the right way up. It looks so fragile on its back, like a leaf. Sad to see... I hope you find another suitable chariot soon.
so true... it looked llike a wounded animal. thank you
Great voice over...only your creativity could turn a wrecked plane into an art video with you heart on your sleeve...I went through a divorce then too at 32 it was actually before I learned to fly
Thanks Gary... we all get our tie downs snapped in life indeed.
Two airplanes I used to fly were lost. A Cessna 152 I used to rent, N6202M, the one I flew my wife in while we were first dating, crashed after a student ran it out of fuel at Horseshoe Bay, Texas. A Cherokee 160 I rented for while in the 1990s, N2499P, was at one time stolen and flown to Mexico. In 2000, it was crashed on landing in Crossville, Tennessee.
Wow - some stories there Richard. Stolen and gone to Mexico - that is just wildness! Hate it crashed, and nearish me!
Well, that was more emotional than I expected. What a sad loss of "stuff" that day.
The owner seemed to take it pretty well. Yeah they aren't making them like that anymore!
Man I can't even imagine the emotions you feel right now, just seeing that plane inverted and mangled generated extreme sadness for me. Biggest hugs.
Thanks yes it was the plane I flew... but did not own. I feel terrible for the owner and it was a beauty of an airplane.
I heard a couple planes got messed up at Tune. Just after I started training the tornado hit and demolished the plane I was flying. It’s just stuff. That’s a good way to look at it.
Yeah man March 3rd is a problem around here eh?
@@BrianSiskind yes it is. Crazy. I live in Bellevue and fly out of GHM Centerville now. Hope you have other options to fly.
@Joey Stanley I do but it won't be the same. You have a plane at GHM? I like that little airport.
@@BrianSiskind yes a 1965 M20c Mooney. It’s down for some maintenance and upgrades right now. Probably down for a month.
@@joeystanley4996 pick me up at JWN sometime so I can experience a Mooney!
Whoa! Dang, that’s terrible! Just happened?
Yes yesterday. Megabummer.
