- Christmas is the time for inspiration. There are hundreds of beautiful themes, pop songs, classical works and oratoria.
White Christmas is an all time favorite. I played it last year as accompagnement for the choir where I am pianist but always had a special bond with it.
To me Arcadi Volodos is the greatest pianist alive. His magical tone, incredible pianissimo, interpretations, transcriptions, performances, cathedral of sound pianism are out of this world.
His concert in Barbican Hall in London (especially his Schumann Humoreske) was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
Therefore I decided to dedicate my improvisation (there is no written score) to him. I certainly do not compare myself to the master. I've never given a concert due to PTSS and autism. Whenever I feel insecure I think of Volodos and let the notes flow from my hands.
I hope you enjoy it.
After the pandemic you play in New York at my place where the greatest pianists have played and you belong there because I have NEVER heard an improvisation that good!

Very fine playing and rendition. Volodos is my favorite as well. I wish he would release more albums as his repertoire is significantly larger than what is available. Since Cherkassky passed he has taken the mantle for beautiful tone. I also like Stephen Hough as his playing has great style and imagination. A recent album played by Bertrand Chamayou 'Good Night' is fantastic and I'm sure you would enjoy as well.

It is an improvisation. No budget for having it transcribed. Last I asked wanted 250 euro to do that.
I think it would have been more interesting had you rewritten White Christmas (the melody itself) as if Rachmaninov had written it, instead of using the melody as Berlin wrote it.

I am dyslexic and can't write scores. At the moment no budget for paying transcriber
