I have no idea where the narrator came up with a figure of 796 people per square mile...the actual population density of NH is about 154/sq mi. And given that more than half of the population is concentrated in the two largest counties (Hillsborough and Rockingham), most of the state feels pretty sparsely populated.

You have to realize that while Maine is fairly large in square miles, especially compared to other new england states, most of it is woods/wilderness that is not lived in.

My dad was stationed in Portsmouth from 58-62. It was my favorite of our homes. We went to Guam and then he was sent to Bangor to help close that base. Bangor was a beautiful location. So many trees! After all that snow I vowed I would never live North of the Mason Dixon line, ever.
That said, really good homes are for sale in Maine. If you enjoy hunting you could hardly do better. Fishing, hiking and just walking are killer in both states

That's pretty funny, I'm pretty much the opposite of what you said. I've been living in the Sun Belt for years with months of summer heat over 110 f. I've "vowed" to never live south of Interstate 80 again and am moving to New England for a few reasons, one to get away from the heat and to never be around it again lol. I am definitely built for colder climates and not at all for hot climates.

Due to the ridiculously higher taxes in NH which really isn't as their plate say live free or die we decided to get land in northern maine. Alot less people way lower taxes and way more freedom to do what you want with your land.

I’m tired of living in my semi tropical south, eastern state and really miss wearing a sweater and more. Tell me please in New Hampshire what city or town near the coast is good that I can have bike lanes and is walkable and maybe has some public transportation, such as the down Easter train might run through it at least has a connection to it. I can drive, but I like to have a more walkable town because it’s easy to keep fit without going to the gym.

I mean I only used my ac for about two months and is just a window unit. It’s more humid than the southwest but it’s nothing compared to the Midwest or South

Both New Hampshire and Maine rank slightly above the national average when it comes to groceries. NH offers a variety of major supermarkets such as Hannafords, Shaws, Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Market Basket. This gives you the ability to shop around and find the best prices available. New Hampshire vs Vermont?

  • @enjoyslearningandtravel7957

I have to correct you just a little bit otherwise enjoyed your beautiful video, in that, although Maine has a fairly high state tax, and you believe you said New Hampshire, does not that is incorrect
. New Hampshire does have a bit of a state tax as in they tax interest on dividends, and I believe capital gains so if you’re a senior citizen, for example, or don’t have much of a salary and rely partly on your dividends, then you need to get the entire picture to make an informed choice
