SPOILERS BELOW for the innate abilities of the hidden characters you can unlock in later playthroughs: -------------------------------------- Rhea - Nullify Magic (Gremory) Sothis - Proficient Witstrike (Mortal Savant) Arval - Domineer (Wyvern Lord) Gatekeeper - All of the Innate Abilities (Depending on what Master Classes you fully master)
Does Gatekeeper have access to _all_ innate abilities (if you take the time to master them all)? Or only the abilities for the _first_ class you master?
Aside from the obvious, it's also just relevant to his personality in all his supports. He mentions it in every one that his time is almost up and he's truly ready to die any day now. Which you know, is fair considering he is he over 300 years old.
All that in Awakening makes Annette even more broken since Awakening doubles the damage done to barriers. But Edelgard in the Great Class can break barriers in Awakening with her C2 combo. So all of those ability slots can go to damage or Utility. In Maddening mode I’ve found Wild Abandon, Offensive Tactics, “Weapon”-breaker, and Impossible feat to deal stupid damage to anything, and my units are level 60-80 with no stat boosters.
Proficient Witstrike is excellent on Lorenz because it stacks with Dual Onslaught, so you can level him up in a magic class, reclass him to a physical class, then PW will use his much higher Mag stat, then use some of that again from DO
- I would say that possibly that Lorenz and Balthus are lucky, since they gain the same skills [Besides Magics]: Offensive Tactics, Wild Abandon, Big Game Hunter & Dual Onslaught, Armstrift and Essence of Fire. The only Difference its the Apex Skills and Buster Skills if you. -I can even add the fact if you level both 50 Levels in Wyvern Lord and Dark Bishop, they will be able to use and abuse Edel's Unique using the Merc Item to basically make Maddening a Joke. Using Bow Knight on Balthie due to Nullify Magic + Tome Breaker and Lorenz was Dancer. (Possible Spoilers) Was someone who played both FEW I would say that Lorenz is like Camilla from FEW in term of Mag & STR Growths.
The first time i unlocked such a skill was on Lysithea. My first route is Edelgards and there's sooo many magic users. So Lysithea, got turned into, what i thought was, a meme once i got ahold of a levin sword. She's now my top damage dealer, especially since i could give her some big stats with the higher tier swords.
Wit strike is amazing on lysithia because she can use Catherine's relic thunderbrand since they both have crests of charon (cathrine isn't recruitable in GW route so thunderbrand is just free to use since you get it after defeating her)
Tbh I wish you couldn't get Thunder brand in GW given what the plot of it was like. They didn't really deserve Catherine's weapon after defeating her that way.
Prepared to Die seems like a callback to the classic Warriors game where having your health bar reach red auto charges the musou gauge. And since it was a common strategy to use against Lu Bu, the biggest badass of all Warriors game, I say the name Prepared to Die is very fitting.
I really appreciate you putting in all this effort to break down mechanics. The channel I would usually watch for new warriors tips has seemingly passed on this title, and it’s nice to have somewhere I can learn about the nuances going on in the game
I've found a solid amount of use for Flyswatter with Leonie in particular due to how much abilities she gets that help build up Warrior Gague anyway. (She gets Dex and Charm Catalyst, Burst of Valor and her personal boosts Warrior Gague full rate as well. She even gets driven Spirit if that already wasn't enough, and Harmonious Specials helps boost the damage of these). All of that plus Flyswatter fills up her warrior gague very quickly. And while Petra doesn't get as much boosts to her Awakening gague fill rate, she gets some and her personal boosts that further with every crit, so Flyswatter helps build that super fast for her as well
If Flycatcher was available on units with Excalibur, that would be super strong. You get the wind effect against enemies and Excalibur constantly keeps them airborne.
Petra can get both. She learns Excalibur from Linhardt if you A-rank her magic, and doing so will also give you Essence of Wind. Essence of Wind, Flycatcher, and two wind-based arts like Excalibur and Windsweep and... well, it's fun.
Okay, but Inspiring Agility+Fetters of Dromi basically turns any infantry unit into a cavalry unit without the risk of Anti-Cavalry weapons. I've been using this combination on Sniper Bernadetta because I don't like how the Bow Knight armor overwrites her unique outfit and how often Bow Knight moves out of the area of her Personal Space during combo strings, thus negating the crit bonus. Plus Smite, Fiendish Blow and Boost Critical. Not only is it incredibly effective, its also really really fun having Bernie zoom around the battlefield like a bat out of hell shoving anybody out of her way before hunkering down to shoot enemies encroaching on her Personal Space before then zooming off again... Bonus points for the occasional Warrior Special to make her seem even more panicked in her running.
So appently someone on Game FAQs has a Siri on how the damage works in game I believe. I'd comment on a few other things but as a speedrunner I'm waiting until I finish some of the really crazy optimizing and dumb things I've been working on to try and explain everything. But I so appreciate everyone that's been testing a lot of different things since it saves me a lot of time testing every little thing myself. Look the speedrun for the game is a "love letter" to every fan of the game since so many people have found so much that has helped it.
Wish the game explained innate abilities earlier. I didn't even know they were in the game until my second playthrough, when I got Seteth's since I wanted him to be able to use his lance.
You get thunderbrand on the Golden Wildfire route and the fact that only Lysithea on that route has the crest needed to use the unique combat art always felt a little annoying to me. Now I know that instead of leveling her down the Trickster path I should have gone down Mortal Savant. Oh well, more grinding for meeeee.
Imo Proflcient Witstrike is probably the most OP ability just because of Lysitheas insane magic stat. My Lysithea capped Skill, Spd, and magic and is a mortal savant. I use electric grounder and Luna as mortal savant and just one shot maddening bosses in 1 hit. Adding Dark Creator Sword just makes it the most OP a unit can be.
I tested an On-foot unit with & without Domineer & I can actually confirm that it does work without being mounted, maybe dismounting weakens stats I think.
I had seen another video saying that Domineer makes Jeritza deal more damage when HE is on foot. But that never made sense to me, it makes wayyyy more sense that it deals more damage to ENEMIES that are on foot, with the way the ability is worded
Mercedes with Sharpshooter on Trickster is a great main for mob clearing and rescues, since her Divine Pulse does AOE damage and heal and the gauge can proc per hit
I'm halfway tempted to try and make a Shez with Range Master, Dual Wielder's Ploy and one of the range increasing Unique Abilities via the Merc Whistle just to see how much the range increase is, if it all adds up.
It does. And it's incredible. I used my whistle to get Sylvain's Gordian Stroke, and I also managed to get a Mercurius with max level consecutive damage and hit chaining. Slapped on Concentration too for good measure. I singlehandedly created the second coming of the Ashen Demon on my very first playthrough.
I initially choosed golden deer route so I could play Lysithea and after beeing not very satisfied with gremory ( I dont like the mages classes at all because you dont move enough around) I went down to mortal servant which was better but in the end I went with trickster then, which has been my favourite class ever since
If the other Three Houses playables was also playable in this game, I'd guess their Innate Abilities would be as follows: Hanneman: Sharpshooter (Bow Knight) Alois: Nullify Magic (Dark Bishop) or Range Master (Dark Knight); yes, this is kind of an obscure reference, but I think it'd be a hilarious one. Gilbert: Range Master (Holy Knight) Cyril: Range Master (Holy Knight) or Sharpshooter (Bow Knight) Anna: Inspiring Agility (Great Knight) Hanneman is due to his boon in Bows (and Riding to a lesser degree) making Bow Knight the best option to hide his innate ability behind. A coin flip in terms of which one it'll be, but both abilities is a reference to the Alois x Hanneman supports where Alois is interested in wanting to learn magic despite admittedly not being good at it. Either of the skills mentioned can be associated with Reason. For the record, if we're not going into obscure references, Ironclad from Great Knight can reference his Armor boon. Gilbert remaining boon that isn't covered by his likely preferred classes is Lances, and he hails from the Kingdom of Faerghus which is the most sympathetic faction to the Church (where he was also employed until the war due to reasons). As such, Holy Knight makes the most sense for his class Cyril is once again a coin flip, but both skills reference certain sides of Cyril. Range Master references his Lance boon and Cyril's current circumstances as a servant to Rhea, and Sharpshooter references Cyril's Bow boon and having been taught a bit of archery by Shamir, who he associated with before wartime. As for Anna, Riding is her budding talent and Inspiring Agility is the only innate ability associated with the Riding rank (it is why Dimitri and Bernadetta get it as their innate ability and has to go into Great Knight despite the class otherwise clashing with certain banes of theirs). As for what rank (and thus technically budding talent) the skills are generally associated like this: Proficient Witstrike: Sword (Mortal Savant) Gather: Sword (Trickster) Range Master: Lance or Reason (which one it is depends on the character; Shez for example is a Reason reference due to their status as Byleth's counterpart, and Hubert is a Lance reference since Lance was his budding talent in Three Houses) Heaviest Hitter: Axe Sharpshooter: Bow Prepared to Die: Fist Nullify Magic: Reason or Faith Exalted Breath: Faith Inspiring Agility: Riding Ironclad: Heavy Armour Flyswatter: Flying (Pegasus) Domineer: Flying (Wyvern)
Just curious about Exalted Breath, Did you try using Nosferatu? That has a healing effect while also doing damage at the same time. Most of the light spells don't actually have healing properties on them in the first place. Nosferatu and Lightblade have healing effects attached to them
Bruh I started training up Byleth in the holy knight class so I could get Exalted Breath only to now realize that I only use Sublime Heaven and Aura on him 😭
Lycithia on a Whyvern combo 5 then class action is ridiculous with her throwing people ability and with Whitstike making her damage stack on her magic is just awesome as a crowd clearing unit.
So if you get Domineer is going onto a Spear class and equipping the Horse Slayer spear viable? This should give you an effective 1 tier advantage to everything but Wyverns in theory. (Unless Falcon Knights also don't count.) We don't know the damage calculation. This means if you pair this with an Archer and Mage and Brawler and in theory you have the best possible coverage.
The ??? Character with Proficient Witstrike is fantastic since they get a powerful combat art that relies on magic for extra damage and they are a high magic character.
So 2 things: 1. Does Range Master even increase Gordian Stroke? 2. The Prepared to Die Ability is just like old Dynasty Warriors where if your HP is in the red, your Musou Gage goes up, the difference being in DW you also do much higher damage and a unique more stronger attack.
Range master obviously to op men! And prepare to die littery boost dmg i haven't test other skill yet but atlest this to i unlocked is waaaay high there
Man if only Caspar learns prepared to die skill he would be broken it’s like resolve and wrath from previous games if you have a high critical boost it’s not a bad skill for war masters but if you equip that skill make sure your unit has high defense and speed
Not hugely, I don't think. Stat gains at level-up are mostly predetermined for each character, with the random class growths being added on top. But if you're not happy with a unit's stat growth you can always reset them at the training grounds and use money / record keeper grinding to get their levels back up
