I think the most interesting thing is actually that Hapi and Cornelia have extra dialogue. Thales and Kronya existing may imply an evil route or something later, but Hapi and Cornelia could mean mixed faction opportunities later.
Most likely they were planned to be unlockable through prestige, like rhea, arval and sothis and these dialogues are just tiny curious details like the battle dialogues of these other unlockable characters.
I can see two of the extra Byleth being placeholders for Aelfric and Nemesis. They are oddly missing from the game, and the game pretty much reused every single NPC except them.
They have a decent theoretical reason to not be there. Aelfric is basically tied to the monestary and simply gets found and kicked out in non-CS timelines(There is no reason for this to not happen in Hopes, despite the acedemy closing down). His entire plotline is simply missed by Shez' PoV. And one could argue that Nemesis simply has no way of being there because he has no opportunity to be awakened yet.
Or, and I said this last time...maybe Nintendo should stop being greedy and whipping the employees to rush these games out, instead of over-reliance on DLC? Maybe thats a cool concept, dare I say a novel one, for this billion dollar company?
@@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 I think dlc should add on to an already COMPLETE experience. I hate how modern dlc is almost essential to have the whole experience
@@avej99 well if you look at the games that are closest to Three Hopes, Three houses and Age of Calamity, both of them are pretty complete experiences even without the dlc. Sure the dlc adds stuff like more characters and all that, but it’s not like the game is incomplete without the dlc
@@l.n.3372 it’s was way more successful than the 1st warrior game which took half a year to reach 1m units sold. So it’s more likely were gonna get dlc.
Ive said it prior but Hapi can detect the same thing Shez does as you approach the secret content with Byleth. Epiminedes drops the Timotheos tome. There is DEFINITELY a big connection there and Hapi (or her crestline) is way more linked than we think in regards to the Slitherers, at least thats just my gut feeling.
Oh man so we almost got an alternate ending for Azure Gleam like in Edelgard's route? The Epimenedes chapters just don't work if AG's ending stays the same, so it's a shame to see that almost wasn't the case at one point.
Well the alt ending would have been a worse end for AG, so the ending would have been worse. If it's the same as SB, it's likely just that Claude would have betrayed Dimitri in the alt path.
@@l.n.3372 I think it’s more likely that Edelgard would have been freed from her brainwashing after the Zahras section. If Scarlet Blaze’s alternate path is the better ending then it stands to reason that Azure Gleam’s would be the same.
@@pearsemolloy9656 No, I think you misunderstood me here. We are defining "alt path" differently here. To me, the alt path is the non Byleth recruited version. The recruiting Byleth path is the main path. Thus, the alt path is meant as the worse ending. Aka alt path SB is when Claude betrays the Empire. Thus this comparison in AG would be if Claude betrays the Kingdom. However, if you interpret the alt path as the one with Byleth, then you're just arguing for a different definition of alt path than I did. Thus we are starting from a different premise.
@@l.n.3372 well in the cutscene list “Smouldering Scarlet Blaze (alternate path)” is the better ending. While “Smouldering Scarlet Blaze” is the worse one. So my point stands.
The most interesting thing from this video (in my opinion) is the presence of battle quotes for Thales, Kronya, and Cornelia. To me, this indicates the possibility of a few things. They may have been intended to be playable in the game, either as renown NG+ unlocks (like Arval, Sothis, and Rhea), or even in a sort of ‘evil route’. Hapi having quotes with Cornelia for example really reminds me of how even the renown NG+ unlockables we have now all have certain quotes with other characters from the main roster. Therefore what’s happened is either: 1) They were originally meant to playable (NG+ renown unlocks or an evil route) but they were cut and we won’t get them now 2) We’ll get them as DLC, possibly unlocked outright to be usable in record keeper battles, unlocked with renown in NG+, or we get an entire new evil route
I hope at least some of this is hints at DLC in development... Feels like a faint hope at this point since nothing is announced. Surprising given this game has sold well.
Age of Calamity had a bit before the DLC got announced and they confirmed that the DLC had not been in the original plan so it could likely be the same here.
Definitely want DLC with Nemesis among other choice events that occurred in Three Houses. Like even one with the Ashen Wolves as being a legitimate Mercenary Band that Shez leads across the battlefields, etc.
Yeah I always pegged Holst as the Hero class especially since Hero is the only non-unique class in Three Houses that is never used by any of the named NPCs as their canon class. If we ever get DLC I hope they retcon Holst being a Hero instead of Swordmaster or they make Hero, Valkyrie, War Monk and Dark Flier as Overclasses.
The same thing should apply for Rhea's Saint class. Because that class gave her unique animations in Houses, I think she should have gotten her own unique move set just like Shez, Byleth, and the House Leaders. If the developers did do, as you suggested, overclasses, they definitely need to make sure that characters such as Holst, Constance, Hapi, and Rhea keep their unique warrior specials when assigned as a Hero, Dark Flyer, Valkryie, and Saint respectively. Adding onto that, they should also allow characters such as Lorenz, Rodrigue, Leonie, Ferdinand, Sylvain, and Jeralt to use *their* unique warrior specials when promoted as a Holy/Dark Knight.
AZURE GLEAM SPOILERS (just in case) I would like to talk about this alternate path right here 3:35, like, I didn't saw any people talking about this. Do any of you remember the start of Azure gleam chapter 10? I think there is an alternate path right at this choice between if you want to recruit the members of the Golden Deer or if you don't. In case that you don't, they will be like, guarding the base (or that's what I remember). This is the only choice in the entire game that is looking like if it was something important, don't you think? (like that one on three houses with the black eagles) I played the other 2 routes and there wasn't any choice that looked similar to that. And there is another thing... A location change of the main battle (something that the others routes didn't had... Hmm...) This change was because Cornelia started an attack at the base, and because of this, Dimitri ordered to defend (the main battle was an attack to the empire, but was canceled because the kingdom needed to defend their base). My theory here is... What if you don't recruit the members of the Golden deer? They would be there at the base defending the attack of Cornelia, while the rest of Dimitri's army can continue their attack to the empire, and like that, there is another alternate path... I don't know, maybe on this path they can save Edelgard of her brainwash? Who knows haha Again, this is only my personal theory that I wanted to share, because literally I never saw someone pointing at this, and never saw a gameplay of someone not recruiting those members on chapter 10... Right now I am playing Azure gleam again to see what happens if I don't recruit them, probably nothing, but it's worth to try at least. And sorry if my comment is hard to understand, I am still learning the english language.
I never thought about it, but you very well could be right. It was indeed very weird the way the option to recruit them or not was presented, like it was more important than the no brainer it actually is in game.
Its not correct that Hapi and Cornelia dont share a map as enemies. You can recruit Hapi early on in the Blue Lions ruite and she even has unique dialogue against Cornelia. She also talks about her in the Base after and before you fight her.
I suspect he meant a map where they are both enemy units, as in they are on the same side. But I do think that the fact that they can interact with each other on opposing sides and have a backstory validates Cornelia making weird comments to Hapi if they happen to be fighting together.
@@arzfan29 true, but its 18 characters still rivals the 24ish unique classes, especially if you also count Link / Zelda's alternate weapon types and even then, the 53 characters is proof that adding some new ones for DLC would be easy: program a new unique, make a model and that's about it
Generic Warrior: "I'll let you go for now. Don't think you've won!" Rufus: "A pity..." Generic Wise: "My life is worth more than this! I'm outta here!" Thales: "Our plans require greater destruction!"
I would imagine that the Voice clips are made in bulk, it’d be easier to have a VA come in and do every Voice line the character might use than it would be to have a VA come in twice because they changed their minds about a character being playable or not. It would totally explain why the formerly playable characters have voice lines, because they’d be coming in to record lines for the story anyway. Same thing with the unused portraits, they probably commissioned an artist to just make a portrait of every character with every emotion.
Seeing Hedgemon is partly modeled for this game makes me slightly sad, because I was hoping we'd get explanation for what exactly the Husk is, as for now all I can really guess is some alternative, more controlled form of the beast that you become if you hold the wrong relic weapon...but how did they manage to get that transformative property, what relic weapon did Edelgard even use?
I got the impression that it’s the crest stones that cause demonic transformations. In a AG cutscene you see the Beast crest stone appear when Edelgard is transformed by Thales. The beast crest stone is also what powers Edelgard’s fake Relic weapon so I assume she took it out and used it at the end of AM
@@loganwendigo937 Thats what ive always guessed, but it'd be interesting to see the process, or if it was even the custom relic weapon's core, rather than Thales' magic, or something else. They talk about it as if its some kind of thing they contained almost, if i recall correctly, which wouldnt make much sense if its simply the core of the weapon
I was kind of hoping Hegemon Edelgard would be an unlockable playable class, sort of like how you unlock Rhea, Sothis and Arval. Also because Warriors games usually have that one character that tends to be pretty big, like the Great Fairies in Age of Calamity.
The transformed Edelgard was the biggest WTF for me, I saw it in the cutscene and I was like oh snap am I gonna have to fight that..............Never showed up again. I like this game but I'm just not liking all these cliffhangers, I know the first warriors had its problem but it at least had an ending even though it was non canon, if I'm being honest unless its done right I think Warriors spin off games should avoid basing it off their main story especially if you're gonna leave your player asking even more questions
@@xtcarnagerocks8915 A lot of people think that the Rodrigue situation actually further supports why Judith and Randolph should be playable. The thought is that it makes that scene more impactful in general that way.
Something I find curious is that Rufus has a unique class despite only showing up once as a boss. What purpose could there be to making a class just for him?
@@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 I know it happens a few times. I just find it surprising that they made for Rufus considering how mostly unimportant he is, after the execution scene he's pretty much forgotten
@@videogamefanaticlordkh7526 Depends honestly. Rufus' death set the entirety of the Kingdom's plot line in motion and is mentioned a lot. He may not appear much, but that doesn't mean he isn't important. Sort of like Kronya in Three Houses honestly.
I wonder if the npc dialogue stuff you mentioned was originally intended to have them appear as renown characters. It'd certainly make sense for the Agarthans, though admittedly Rufus is kinda an odd one out if that were the case given how he's in the game for so little time.
Especially considering they went through the effort of including the agrathians personal weapons as purchasable with renown it feels like it would of have made sense to be able to use it on the characters and possibly get special combat arts like relic weapons
What's funny about Child Dimitri and Child Edelgard is their models are straight up in the game. When I saw them I thought there was gonna be some sort of flashback but nope, those models never saw the light of day. Another thing that I find so strange is Female Byleth has a model that has her wearing glasses which implies they may have planned to have accessory customization at some point but it was scrapped.
Hoping for DLC, but I won't hold my breath. I think Hanneman would be fun to play as and I would love it if we had Dark Flyer, War Monk, and Valkyrie to play with. It would also be nice to see alternate endings for AG and GW.
As a diehard fan of the OG Fire emblem warriors, man does this game deserve dlc for the story. The OG Fe Warriors never got any true story Dlc, so I hope this one gets some.
Although I'm not a modder by any means, I find it interesting to dig in and see what unused content exists in a game, because it gives a glimpse into the developers' thought process and methods. Thanks for the enlightening video! 100k HYPE!
When they did the Cindered Shadows DLC, they gave you specfic units from each house and the new characters. So I wonder, perhaps a DLC with the unique Agarthan units. Maybe those who underwent crest experiments will be available as well such as Lysithea, Edelgard and Hapi. Unsure how they will do this, but maybe something similar like how they made Edelgard be silent in Azure Gleam or some sort of baggage or promise of secrets?
I can imagine that a lot of the assets were just produced in bulk, then the devs figured out what they wanted to use or rather, what they had time to implement.
One of Habi's paralogues, I believe one exclusive to Scarlet Blaze, confirms an adversarial link between Hapi and Cornelia. I have no idea what situation would put them on the same side though.
I’m hoping that if DLC is released, it focuses on TWSITD possibly even as an evil route. At the very least, I’d like it if those characters were Record Hall units.
I’d love to know the recruitment flags for the five unused characters. Would be interesting to know where and when they were supposed/will become playable.
I can see Hanneman being when you rescue him and Leonie in SB. Aloise would just join when you hire Byleth and Jeralt. Cyril could join with Seteth and Flayn maybe in AG.
Something interesting too is that some of the voiceclips in the game definitely are for the characters that got demoted to NPC status. Rhea has a line for praising Cyril for instance, and a good lot of characters also can praise Alois.
NPC Gustave also praised Rodrigue when I played Chapter 3 AG in the record keeper. Additionally Judtih and Nader were surely both originally meant to be playable.
@@adamrhodes9533 There is also a battalion in the game called Daphnel fencers or such, similar to how everyone else gets a unique one in paralogues. In Claude's paralogue there is a wyvern battalion (Nader) and later on at a location you get the Daphnel fencers (Judith). They really got shafted.
@@hoshueyeplopper4465 I'd assume the former battalion is probably for Claude. I think his paralogue in Three Houses gave an Almyran battalion too. Judith I presume they planned given she fills in Rodrigue's role in the cutscene I referred to.
@@adamrhodes9533 Yet Claude gets his own battalion after the timeskip just like Dimitri and Edelgard. Nader also has these unused voice lines and he is in camp practically all the time in the endgame except one chapter.
Yeah, this game could’ve used a few more classes, so the fact that Hero was left on the cutting room floor, and that three of the Abyss classes don’t seem to be developed much at all, makes me rather annoyed.
I wouldn't have minded if they just gave each character a set class like they did in the original warriors game. At least that way everyone didn't feel the same aside from the character ability. They even all have the same stat caps.
@@xtcarnagerocks8915 I don’t think that the class system in Three Hopes was fundamentally flawed, but it needed more characters to have unique movesets and/or classes to reallly work. Anyone with the appropriate crest to use one of the Sacred or Relic weapons should’ve had a unique moveset for that weapon type in their preferred class line; it is absurd that Annette, Marianne, and _especially_ Seteth can’t use the respective legendary weapons without reclassing. Seteth’s preferred class is literally a class that required lances to unlock in Three Houses, and yet he can’t use the appropriate sacred lance in that class _despite the only other character with that crest being exclusive to a different route than Seteth is exclusive to._ Also, there needed to be more classes in general; the classes we do have avert some of the problems of Three Houses’ class system, but most of the major complaints were left unaddressed, and are actually _even worse_ here. Thought you could finally give Cathrine or fByleth a good brawling class? Too bad, those are still arbitrarily male only. Wanted to give Lysithea the more appropriate version of the mage classes? Sucks to be you, they kept the pointless restrictions on Dark Mage/Bishop. You literally just want Holst, Balthus, Hapi, and Constance to be in their canonical classes? Welp, their classes aren’t even available at all _for some reason…_ What the game needed was a wider, less restricted selection of classes, and more unique movesets for specific characters, but they didn’t put in the extra effort. A most of this game’s issues are a result of them not fully fleshing out their ideas for one stupid reason or another, and the result is a game that should’ve been great, but is instead merely okay.
I really enjoyed this game far more than I thought I would, there's a layer of depth to the game I wasn't expecting from a Warriors title. Would really like to see some DLC, especially if it means they bring back the Dark Flier/Valkyrie classes, since Hapi, Lysithea and FShez really miss out on getting Essence of Darkness (considering that skill is locked to Dark Mage).
Considering how shafted Claude and the deer were in the game (again), it's not surprising that they didn't even bother finishing Holst's class. Being a deer fan can be really frustrating.
For real. Seeing Claude's paralogue that stars both Nader and Judith, I guarantee you they were meant to be playable. They even both have a corresponding battalion in the game. Almyran wyverns and Daphnel fencers.
The Argathan content interested me the most. It seems like KT was planning on making the Argathans playable but ended up scrapped. Maybe a secret route was planned where you would team up with the Argathans. If so I need an DLC of that stat. 💀
I really hope in future DLC they bring back the excluded classes and characters. I feel like it would be easy to include them since they are there just unfinished.
I have to wonder if some of the issues with AG with Ferdie and Hubert suddenly not being there (yes i understand it makes sense because obviously they would be against what was happening to Edelgard but the way FE usually does things, you'd think they'd show at least them getting captured or something) is because they didn't want us to lose Billy again (at least not in the visual sense in the form of Ferdie). I do appreciate it though I know this is mean to say but I wish someone made at least a (high quality) fan-made version. Or at least a fanfiction. I was disappointed/surprised to not see any fanfictions of Hubert getting captured by TWSTD around the time 3 houses was more prominent. Yes Hubert is super smart and would be super hard to capture especially by an organization he's been studying but there are fanfictions of worse/weirder.
As an Edelgard fan, it feels nice not having a half-finished route with resolution on the cutting room floor. I assume the Dimitri route split is probably also a "Claude backstabs (the Church and) you" option.
CF wasn't half finished tho. It was just rushed. They only made CF because some devs wanted to side with Edelgard too, in addition to her betraying you in SS.
@@kylekraus6722 yeah I think that would have been more likely. Would have made more sense too as her falling back into being brainwashed after leaving Zahras was really dumb.
@@l.n.3372 CF was always in the cards for Three Houses. The only effect the devs had on its development (per interviews) was to make the requirements needed to unlock it far more obvious and telegraphed.
@@Dakress23 That's not fully true. The initial concept was "let's make a game where the red emperor archetype is female for once, and your former student is a Lord who betrays your avatar character." That became SS. The next written and fully finished route was AM and then VW (copy paste of SS). Then certain devs wanted a route where you keep Edelgard on the team. That became CF. And then, they had to decide how to unlock this route vs making it more difficult or less difficult. They chose to make it less hidden than otherwise planned.
An Agarthan route is really looking like the dlc. They didn't write all that dialogue, and ask the voice actors to do all the recordings at the same time if they never planned to release it. Also consider the pref weapons are there, and that there are menus in the game with only 1 option that would be a perfect place to add an Agarthan route, such as not going to the monastery with Alois or refusing to join a house.
Im just sad this game didnt have Rhea route, she is such a fascinating character and needed to be explored more. Once again she gets the short end of the stick and once again an opportunity is wasted :(
I think that the Rufus one might be the most interesting here to me - he's one of the characters I have longed to see since 3H, and given that he has a unique class, unique skills, battle capabilities and even additional lore-relevant flavor text in his concept art, I was hoping there were manners in which he could become playable. (With regard to the flavor text - it is mentioned that his circlet, which by all means looks out of place and not-Faerghus style in design, is actually something that Cornelia gave him to increase the amount of influence she has over him.)
there's a lot of potential for DLC here. Finishing/putting in Hero, War Monk, Valkyrie, Dark Flier for more class variety, finishing the missing five, and ther'es plenty of others to add (Judith? Nader? Randolph?). Hell being able to use people like Rufus or Shahid just to screw around in records mode is better than nothing. Now, Warriors got DLC, AoC got DLC, plus THIS game sold over 1 million units. I'm sure it's gonna happen, the only question is how much and when.
I think there’s already plenty to be thankful for in that Hopes tried to remedy some of Houses’ unused content like expeditions and the other team activities. Thanks for showing us this
Not exactly unused because you can find these in the game without hacking, but I found really odd that enemy Petra and Randolph (encountered in AG and VW story chapters and side mission minibosses) have some really obscure dialogue that you can only see when you fight them with... Caspar. Who is famously not recruitable outside of SB... so you can only hear this dialogue in NG+ replay battles at camp: Enemy Petra: I cannot stop and think, or Caspar will be finding an opening... Enemy Randolph: You may be of my house, but I will show you no mercy! It makes me wonder if Caspar was at some point intended to be recruited outside of SB, or like Ghast said in the video, they recorded these lines in bulk as standard industry practice and then changed their minds about their availability in the game content. Either way, it makes me feel even more frustrated that my favorite character in the game was exclusive to one route only...
If Cornelia were ever to become playable, her quotes for Hapi could probably be accessible through the Record Keeper, since you can use units from other routes in it. There are already quotes ingame for impossible matchups like that.
The Cornelia and Hapi line was referencing the fact that C was the one who was experimenting on H and ended up giving her the Sigh power. You find that out in Hapi/Dimitri’s supports.
I think the Interlude is just Post Games chapters allowed you to doing a free play or some special maps but the game scrapped it allowed players to free play any cleared Route maps in next playthrough
Huh yeah it'd make a lot of sense if holst were a hero. Also woulda made sense to have an advanced class that contues to use the mercenary class action, whereas swordmaster and mortal savant have a different class action
I knew this game felt like it was trying to do more. I just got that vibe. It’s a shame this keeps happening to games of this universe cause it just has so many stories it’s trying to tell 💔
In addition to Hanneman, Alois, Cyril, Gilbert and Anna... I want Randolph, Ladislava, Fleche, Leopold, Ludwig, Waldemar, Cornelia, Lambert (he'd be the Tadakatsu Honda here), Nemesis (the Shanks here), Matthias, Lonato, Rufus, Shahid, Gwendal, Miklan, Nader, Judith, Erwin, Thales, Kronya, Solon. It's a crime to not see them all playable. Acheron I could care less about. And maybe one of the moms of the other house students.
SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW. I wish Arval had a PRF class (Avesta? Idr), their other half has one in the optional chapter, so why does Arval start as Gremory/Dark Bishop
@@magix1484 is it really that broken though? most hero relic weapons have lackluster skills compared to the generic / archenae regalia with "customisable" skills
It could be perhaps some of these ideas including that alternative path could have been temporarily removed so they can later add it on a future update or they are still working on that and added it in the files
Since recruiting Byleth in SB lead to a better ending, perhaps the current endings for AG and GW are the non-recruited endings, and we’ll get betters endings for recruiting Byleth in the future.
What exactly is the difference? I played both routes where you recruit or fight Byleth and I still got the same ending with Seiros and Thales. Am I missing something?
@@TheGamersState I think they are just talking about how Claude doesn’t betray you which I guess would lead to a different ending but like it doesn’t change much since either way the kingdom is going to be invaded by the empire with or without Claude and the Federation.
@@TheGamersState it changes the end text. In one it says they are closing in on the kingdom and the other has the war split 3 ways again. Also it changed ch 14 a bit with claude deciding to betray you as the only gameplay change.
I everything about this game until the ending, it felt extremely rushed, so I honestly wouldn't mind something to give a little more clarity. I've only played GW so far, Claude is my favorite lord and he's really the only lord I wanted to see get more development, and it's exactly what I wanted in that department. I tried AG and I got tired of it after like chapter 5, so I won't be playing the other routes, I never really liked Dimitri tho tbh. I watched a friend play through SB, and I honestly wasn't impressed with the story, it felt almost exactly the same as CF, they just added a few Slitherer fights. My wish list for DLC is: True Endings More Classes (Dark Falcon, Hero, etc.) More Characters (Slitherers, Anna, Judith, the ones that were in Three Houses, etc.) Old Timeskip Designs Golden Route These are more of a stretch: Longer Academy Phase Supports with Byleth and the Lords
or at least a history / "golden mode" that gives access to all current characters and new agarthan characters at all times, having done a playthrough of all three routes everyone is around lv50-60 but a good chunk of the units only mastered one master class because of their poor route availability and inability to "train" outside of their home routes (or at all if renown rewards) levels can be bought but class EXP is a slog if they fall too out of use .
The sales of the game very quickly fell to almost zero, according to rumors, they still have not sold even 1.25 million. And this despite the fact that they sold a million back in August.
Another class that's missing alongside the five listed in this video is the Lord class. Even though Judith is assigned to that class in this game as she was in Three Houses, it isn't available in Three Hopes or offers a unique playstyle different from Trickster or Mortal Savant. Rhea's unique Saint class also should have given her a unique move set exclusive to her just like Shez, Byleth, Claude, Dimitri, and Edelgard since that class gave her unique animations in Three Houses.
4 months later and still no more news on 3Hopes accessable content, hopefully (copium) it's only because of Engage but as the English side of marketing is lacking compared to the Japanese announcements this is all still a big ambiguous mystery (as redundant a sentiment that is). *Sigh* 🤷♂️
Three Hopes Glasses Petra probably exists because somebody forgot to delete a layer on their PSD (or whatever graphics file format they use). It's very clear that the Three Hopes post timeskip designs are just the Three Houses post timeskip faces with different hair and clothing. They probably just pulled up the PSDs they used for the first game and drew new hair and clothing overtop on new layers. Since there was a post timeskip version of Glasses Petra in Three Houses, and the glasses were probably on a separate layer, they were probably just still there when the new designs were made. Whoever put together the assets to go into the game (most likely someone other than the artist) probably just didn't know the glasses weren't necessary this time around because the layer never got deleted, and made a new version of Glasses Petra. Either that, or there may have been some automated system for putting the layers together into the game assets. Either way, the glasses probably shouldn't have been there at all.
I think the small Dimitri and Edelgard were used for a single moment in the game were they talk together as children. And for Fallen Edelgard, I am sure it is the model they used for her when she transforms in the Azure Gleam cutscenes.
I have a theory as to when the five unused the houses characters would be unlocked. Hanneman would have probably also been a black Eagles character, though I have a feeling that due to him wanting to complete his research, he would probably be recruitable instead of having been killed. Gilbert would have probably only been playable if you picked blue Lions. Which is probably the same case for Cyril. Alois would have probably been recruited the same way you recruit Byleth and Jerald, and Anna would've probably been unlocked similarly to the other post-game characters, and I have a feeling she would have functioned like the gatekeeper in that they can be used in story missions despite being a post-game character. I haven't beaten the game yet, but from my current experience, it seems like most of the characters use the same move sets with a few small exceptions. So, theoretically, why did those five characters need to be scrapped? Almost all of the work needed to at least make them playable was done. They have a model, and most of them have dialog. Their moves sets can be easily copied. The only thing at least four of them would need is support conversations. Obviously, Anna wouldn't need it because she didn't have it in the original. It especially bothers me because Hanneman and Alois were two of my favorite characters in that game. I can kind of understand removing Gilbert, Cyril, and Anna. Considering that, as far as I know, those characters have never been particularly popular. But we couldn't at least get Hannaman and Alois. How can we have Manuela but not have Hanneman. How can we not have Alois when Byleth is a major focal point of the story. Imagine how funny the dialogue for Hanneman and Manuela praising each other during Battle would have been. P.S. I know I seem well informed for someone who hasn't beaten the game. The reason for that being I'm desperately afraid of messing something up, so I looked up guides to help with that.
The blank characters COULD be planned DLC. Even the three Byleths may be place holders for characters to be inserted later. It's not unusual to do that to reduce coding time/cost when the DLC is being made, if the game is successful enough to make it.
@@therealjaystone2344 Thus they're graded on their success vs cost based on how well the genre does in general. HW was considered enough of a success that it was ported to both 3DS and then Switch. Without it's success we wouldn't have gotten FE Warriors or Age of Calamity. Although Age of Calamity I think outdid it in total sales now. With all that said though, it seems a bit late for Three Hopes to get DLC at this point. They prolly woulda' said something by now.
Alois & Hanneman are my 2 favourite 3H characters so i really hope they.i'll be added either though doc or a free update like Jertiza in Three Houses, though i'm not hopeful.
its not that surprising to me that cornelia and happi have interactions, they most likely planned to have some of the villains recruitable in some what if, or dlc ways like renown or something, and its pretty much stated in game that cornelia is the one who experimented on happi and made it so that whenever she sighs, she summons monsters
Yeah i hope war monk valkyrie and dark flier are eventully added. Cause war monk i believe was Happi's signature class, and dark flier was Constance's before, i think they eventully released it for all characters in the original three houses game
I'm a little sad that some character pairs can't be as good of friends in Three Hopes as they were in Three Houses. For example, Ferdinand and Lorenz just seem like a natural friendship based around mutual interests, but they only get a C at max. Petra and Ignatz also only get a C at max. However, we do have some new A rank supports for pairs that never interacted in Three Houses, so that part is nice. I think my favorite thing is that everyone except the four new game plus characters can have an A rank with Byleth. It implies that everyone can be just as close with my boy in Three Hopes as they could in Three Houses despite the circumstances.
I think the point is they are still friends but they don't have asupports because it wouldn't be much different from the three houses support and they didn't want to be redundant.
@@sb6196 i understand that, but a lot of pairs have A rank supports again like Caspar and Petra. The idea is largely the same in both games. I get why Byleth doesn't get any scenes with people other than Shez and Jeralt, but they are still there. Unrelated, but I like that because Byleth doesn't have any scenes with anyone, there's no deadline to each an A rank with anyone but Shez and Jeralt.
@@JacStone98 Students from the same house generally have supports with all their classmates, except the Abyssal Four. Plus Caspar and Petra makes more sense to get an A-support again since Leopold von Bergliez, whom is the central topic i their supports, actually makes a physical appearance this time around.
I seriously wonder what they were/are(?) planning by recording all of those voicelines for non-playable units, but especially Cornelia's unique praise lines for Hapi Consider my interest piqued

I think the most interesting thing is actually that Hapi and Cornelia have extra dialogue. Thales and Kronya existing may imply an evil route or something later, but Hapi and Cornelia could mean mixed faction opportunities later.
Well it could also mean that Hapi would be recruitable on said evil route
Though you can mix factions when replaying maps anyway
Its probably for Record Keeper.
Most likely they were planned to be unlockable through prestige, like rhea, arval and sothis and these dialogues are just tiny curious details like the battle dialogues of these other unlockable characters.
No it’s because Cornelia was the one who experimented on Hapi, giving her the Sigh power/curse
I can see two of the extra Byleth being placeholders for Aelfric and Nemesis.
They are oddly missing from the game, and the game pretty much reused every single NPC except them.
Nemesis is especially weird, because he is even mentioned in Arval’s paralogue.
Playable Nemesis would be so unbelievably cool.
The lack of Nemesis really made me sad. Golden Deer was my first route both games, so I was disappointed by the lack of God Shattering Star
Remixes of What Cost? and God Shattering Star
Hopefully warriors gets some dlc the other ones did. I think the game was successful enough to warrant it.
We don't actually know how successful this game was tho. The Japanese Twitter said it shipped 1m units, it did not say how many were sold.
Or the IS is just acting stupid again, and they couldn’t be bothered to make an personal weapon, but didn’t want to just give him the scholars tome
Oh man so we almost got an alternate ending for Azure Gleam like in Edelgard's route? The Epimenedes chapters just don't work if AG's ending stays the same, so it's a shame to see that almost wasn't the case at one point.
Yeah there's an "Alternate Path" event listing for AG's ending I saw in a datamine a while back but its not in the final game.
@@pearsemolloy9656
No, I think you misunderstood me here.
Therefore what’s happened is either:
1) They were originally meant to playable (NG+ renown unlocks or an evil route) but they were cut and we won’t get them now
2) We’ll get them as DLC, possibly unlocked outright to be usable in record keeper battles, unlocked with renown in NG+, or we get an entire new evil route
I hope at least some of this is hints at DLC in development... Feels like a faint hope at this point since nothing is announced. Surprising given this game has sold well.
Age of Calamity had a bit before the DLC got announced and they confirmed that the DLC had not been in the original plan so it could likely be the same here.
still way too early to say since there hasn't been a general direct since 3 Hopes released.
@@CosmicToad5000 September direct
@@therealjaystone2344 god I hope there be a September Direct.
Definitely want DLC with Nemesis among other choice events that occurred in Three Houses.
Like even one with the Ashen Wolves as being a legitimate Mercenary Band that Shez leads across the battlefields, etc.
I wish Ashen Wolves were only usable in their own path. They add too many characters to the current paths
Same
The same thing should apply for Rhea's Saint class.
This stuff being DLC seems kind of optimistic. I still remember fully voiced Fernand and Berkut going completely unused.
And you where right we got no DLC for this game
Not yet
AZURE GLEAM SPOILERS (just in case)
I would like to talk about this alternate path right here 3:35, like, I didn't saw any people talking about this.
Who knows haha
Again, this is only my personal theory that I wanted to share, because literally I never saw someone pointing at this, and never saw a gameplay of someone not recruiting those members on chapter 10...
I meant they are never on the same side in the same map together lol
@@Faerghast Yeah misunderstood you there. But to be fair the way you said it was confusing.
Still can't believe this game doesn't have DLC announced yet
In the artbook there is an unused glowing Byleth.
Yeah, I'm surprised agarthans like Thales aren't playable... we could even play Calamity Ganon in HW:AoC
Age of calamity didn't have 53 playable characters
@@arzfan29 true, but its 18 characters still rivals the 24ish unique classes, especially if you also count Link / Zelda's alternate weapon types
and even then, the 53 characters is proof that adding some new ones for DLC would be easy: program a new unique, make a model and that's about it
Rufus is super evil but his voice-acting is super good so I hope he makes it in as a playable unit. I hope Shahid gets in, too.
Generic Warrior: "I'll let you go for now. Don't think you've won!"
Rufus: "A pity..."
Generic Wise: "My life is worth more than this! I'm outta here!"
Thales: "Our plans require greater destruction!"
If we see giant Edelgard playable...
It would be like the playable Mobile Armors of Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn.
The concept of DLC coming for the game is great because it helps me cope over how baffling it was of them to STILL not make Judith playable, lol.
I'd say it's because she can die but given Rodrigue is playable they don't have a good excuse.

In fairness, this happens a few times for boss characters across the franchise, so im not too shaken up by that personally.

Grappler Hanneman hopium
Same with Azure Route. Hapi confirms Cornelia is the woman who screwed her life up.
I’m hoping that if DLC is released, it focuses on TWSITD possibly even as an evil route. At the very least, I’d like it if those characters were Record Hall units.
I wanna see a TWSITD route too, mostly to run around Shambala with rock dubstep playing in the background
Nemesis being absent was criminal
@@hoshueyeplopper4465 I get a feeling at least Judith had been planned due to a... Certain cutscene.

@@hoshueyeplopper4465 I'd assume the former battalion is probably for Claude. I think his paralogue in Three Houses gave an Almyran battalion too. Judith I presume they planned given she fills in Rodrigue's role in the cutscene I referred to.

Female Shez Dosnt miss out on it cause you can unlock it as male then in another route playthrough Have it to use with Female
Maybe it would also use those portraits of Awakened Shez, having Epimenides and Shez working in tandem to take out everyone.
I would like to hope a lot of these things will be added over as DLC for the future
The interlude maybe allude to another time skip where we see the Three Houses version of characters ending the war, perhaps?
I really hope in future DLC they bring back the excluded classes and characters. I feel like it would be easy to include them since they are there just unfinished.
And you cannot have a modern FE game without fanservice
Or a route where Edelgard comes out of Zarhas in her right mind and not under Thales control.

That's not fully true.
The 4 agarthans as renown units would have been so cool
I really hope this game gets dlc. It’s definitely a game I wouldn’t mind having it.
Caspar. Who is famously not recruitable outside of SB... so you can only hear this dialogue in NG+ replay battles at camp:
Enemy Petra: I cannot stop and think, or Caspar will be finding an opening...
I wonder for DLC if we will be able to play an Agarthan route?
I think the Interlude is just Post Games chapters allowed you to doing a free play or some special maps
but the game scrapped it allowed players to free play any cleared Route maps in next playthrough
Huh yeah it'd make a lot of sense if holst were a hero. Also woulda made sense to have an advanced class that contues to use the mercenary class action, whereas swordmaster and mortal savant have a different class action

Let us hope they finish Valkyrie and Dark Flier *at least* so Hapi and Constance can stop being footlocked
honestly the fact that some classes and units are missing from the main game and it's hard to grind for gold makes me hope for a DLC

@@magix1484 is it really that broken though? most hero relic weapons have lackluster skills compared to the generic / archenae regalia with "customisable" skills
@@bluegallade trueee, though I feel like Blutgang is the exception. Tbh
Is it that bad if Arval is an op class through? It's not like you have to use them if you don't want to.
It could be perhaps some of these ideas including that alternative path could have been temporarily removed so they can later add it on a future update or they are still working on that and added it in the files
Nemesis not being in Three Hopes is a War Crime.
That would be interesting. Maybe that’s what they will do, idk.
Grégoire blushing is truly cursed
Grégoire in the hands of his protector Baron Barnabas.
My wish list for DLC is:
True Endings
More Classes (Dark Falcon, Hero, etc.)
More Characters (Slitherers, Anna, Judith, the ones that were in Three Houses, etc.)
Old Timeskip Designs
Golden Route
These are more of a stretch:
Longer Academy Phase
Supports with Byleth and the Lords
it would be really cool if DLC added history mode and let you play as these unused characters especially the agarthans.
or at least a history / "golden mode" that gives access to all current characters and new agarthan characters at all times, having done a playthrough of all three routes everyone is around lv50-60 but a good chunk of the units only mastered one master class because of their poor route availability and inability to "train" outside of their home routes (or at all if renown rewards) levels can be bought but class EXP is a slog if they fall too out of use .
God I hope for an evil route as dlc. Would be fun
Curious why we didn't get DLC yet...
I think it's because engage was announced so they're saving it for after engage has finished.. and since it has now we just need to wait and see
@@bradDark6941 Right. Though...it is a bit too late right?
The sales of the game very quickly fell to almost zero, according to rumors, they still have not sold even 1.25 million. And this despite the fact that they sold a million back in August.
@@alecseuslev9054 Do we know that? We never got updated on 3 Hopes' sales.
@@alecseuslev9054that's wrong information. It had sold over 2 million by the time you made that comment
DLC 🤔
Finally! Unused content!
Tcrf has been so barren and this makes me so happy
1:54 Heheh, "Dummy Male Byleths" XD
If Myson got a Playble DLC I'm happy!
Myson face reveal when?
@@pageclayton6850 Odesse being given his original class of dark bishop or at least dark mage again instead of becoming Myson's Bias to his Pittacus.
Oh it's a mod. Was hoping it was actually Kronya
"unused character dialogue portraits" - I'm quite sure Shahid's portrait is used with his battle barks, similarly Dimitri's uncle.
The blank characters COULD be planned DLC. Even the three Byleths may be place holders for characters to be inserted later. It's not unusual to do that to reduce coding time/cost when the DLC is being made, if the game is successful enough to make it.
Hyrule warriors didn’t sell well and it had dlc
@@therealjaystone2344 Are you feeling ok? Hyrule Warriors was the most successful launch of any Musou game.
@@muthesquirrel 1 million copies sold for HW. Most warrior games never sell well despite strong starts.
Ganon is the final recruit in HW2 and it looks dumb. They may have been planning more non-canon playable characters like most Warriors games have
Alois & Hanneman are my 2 favourite 3H characters so i really hope they.i'll be added either though doc or a free update like Jertiza in Three Houses, though i'm not hopeful.
Well is been two months now so hoping September they should be announcing the dlc I think it would be dumb if they didn’t do the dlc but finger cross
This didn’t age well lmao
Not having Nader, Judith and Kostas as playable characters is the most grievous sin here.
:u
its not that surprising to me that cornelia and happi have interactions, they most likely planned to have some of the villains recruitable in some what if, or dlc ways like renown or something, and its pretty much stated in game that cornelia is the one who experimented on happi and made it so that whenever she sighs, she summons monsters
Yeah i hope war monk valkyrie and dark flier are eventully added. Cause war monk i believe was Happi's signature class, and dark flier was Constance's before, i think they eventully released it for all characters in the original three houses game
Valkrie was hapi's, war monk was balthus
Ugh I just wanna hear some cute Hanneman/Manuela lines and some lines with Jeralt/Alois/Leonie
the cut content could be added through dlc
i really hope we get DLC
They did get a paralogue though plus unique camp dialogue when doing things together.
@@hoshueyeplopper4465 You're right, but they can't have an A rank support in combat making a wild team.
I seriously wonder what they were/are(?) planning by recording all of those voicelines for non-playable units, but especially Cornelia's unique praise lines for Hapi
Consider my interest piqued
